[Lawns] Shirt for Ransom

Carolanne was looking through her trunk franctically searching for her favorite pair of skinny jeans. Unable to find them, a glare formed its way on her face. "Damn you Ashton Jade Laurent," she mumbled. Deciding on the perfect revenge, she pulled a pair of faded jeans with holes in the knees up her bare legs. Walking out the girls dorm nearly topless, she pushed the boys' dormitory door open and walked to her brother's trunk. Pulling out one of his shirts, she slipped it on over her head and pulled her hair out. She sent a glare at all the boys still in there then smiled before walking out the room, slamming the door behind her.

Grabbing her bag, she slung it over the shoulder and waved good-bye to her friends as she walked out of the common room and headed for the lawns. She'd let Ashton miss the shirt for a while. Let's just say she was holding it for ransom. Finding a shady tree, Laney dropped her bag down and sat herself down, back against the tree. Pulling out a notebook, she began to write in it, cursing Ash under her breath. She was too busy to even noticed another student walk up.

Bradyn walked across the lawns, heading for his usual spot where he worked. He didn't have much time to finish his big project, so he was working on it constantly.. even now. He hummed quietly to himself, his hands working on scratching down the notes onto the worn parchment he was carrying. "Look around, leaves are brown.. there's a patch of snow on the ground. He mumbled, trying to right down the drum part to that for Felicity.

Looking up when he reached his usual tree, he was unsurprised to see it occupied. Ah well, it's not like he'd go find another spot. "Oi, you." He said rather sharply, just to get their attention. "You studying?" Bray asked more nicely as he plopped down against the tree next to the girl. Funny thing was, she seemed to remind him of someone he knew, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Laney was interrupted bruptly by another ravenclaw. Shooting a glance up at him as he approached her, she raised her left eyebrow slightly. She followed him with her eyes as he sat down next to her. When she was asked a question, she let her facial muscles relax, "Studying?" she looked down at her paper then back up at the boy, "You could say that," she said with a smirk. Honestly, Laney didn't study. She was one of those students that could hear something in class once and remember it for years.

pulling the cover over her notebook, she extended a hand, "Laney," she said, introducing herself, "Laney McLane." With her other hand, she pulled at the hem of Ashton's shirt. She couldn't understand why he liked this shirt so much, but she was determined to keep it on all day then hide it for a while in her trunk.

Bradyn sighed a bit at the girl. Obviously, she wasn't going to be all huffy and walk away so he could get some work done. Ah, well, it's not like he wanted to work on anything anyway. And studying, that would just be horrible. "Studying but not at the same time, I don't really see that logic." He said, but shrugged it off. "Studying's not my thing. I usually just sit in class and doodle on my notebooks, then I take the test and pass with flying colors."

Raising a brow at her, he took her hand for a moment and shook it before quickly letting go. Official meetings weren't always seen between students that were just like 'ohyeah, i'm so-and-so, remember?' so obviously, she was a new student. He gasped a little, but then quickly covered it up. 'McLane, no wonder she looks so familiar. She has Ash's eyes.'

"Nice to meet you Laney, I'm Bradyn Reed." For now, he wouldn't mention that he knew Ashton. If Ash had told her about him, then his name should be familiar, if not, well he always wanted to punch the prettyboy in the face.

Laney laughed, "Yeah well, I guess you could say I'm a bit like you, then," she said before flipping the notebook open again, "I'm actually just writing down some stuff I thought my brother would like. I haven't a clue what he has these days and what he doesn't," she said with a slight shrug.

When he introduced himself, Laney looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Bradyn Reed, as in the Bradyn, along with Fay, that kidnapped Ash over the summer?" she asked him with a slight glare. "I would never have guessed it," she said shrugging it off. "Ashy talks about you alot," she said turning back to him, "Not in the way you think I mean. It's more like, complaining about you, for lack of a better word," she said with a smile.

Bradyn nodded a bit at the girl. "Glad to see I'm not the laziest Claw around, then?" He noticed, with a bit of amusement, that they either had the same shirt or she liked to wear Ash's clothes around. Not that it really mattered, since most of his clothes were pretty much unisex, especially his pants.

Raising a brow as his name immediately distracted her, he shook his head slowly. "Nah, I think there's another schmuck out there with my name that likes to kidnap people." He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Maybe I ought to find him."

Bray laughed a bit when she said Ash talked about him, and knew that whatever he said wouldn't be good. Even when she confirmed that, he still wasn't surprised at all. "What are you on? I knew that Ash wouldn't say anything nice about me." He decided not to mention that you get what you give, since that wouldn't be right to say to someone's sister.

Carolanne laughed, "No, no. I'm afraid you're not," she said with a nod. "Though, I must admit, you've got me beat." Carolanne didn't know what it was about Bradyn, but she was getting the feeling that he didn't like her, or Ashton for that matter.

"You best catch him. We don't want two Bradyn Reeds running around, now do we?" she said with a simple smile. He was alright. Not like everyone else she had met but it was good to actually meet someone that practically hated your family. Laney held back a laugh, who didn't hate her family?

Laney nodded, "You're right, then again, he never says anything nice. He's hard to live with, you know. Oh, what am I going on about, of course you know. You're his friend," she said with a smirk. "I feel sorry for you," she said before she started laughing.
