Jennifer had been in a good mood all day. However, the shop hadn't been all that busy, seems as though it was Monday, mostly people were working or at Hogwarts. Light bellowed through the windows and she had a permanent toothy grin on her face, and occasionally bursting out into song. Armed with a feather duster, she cleaned the windowsill and all the rails. She liked to do normal stuff by hand, magic wasn't needed for everything, and she believed it would make you lazy. Wearing a cream coloured dress, she span around making it flare out. She didn't know why she was so happy, maybe something good was going to happen today? Maybe something good had already happened? Who knew, but at least she wasn't worrying about one thing or another. Putting the feather duster away, she popped the kettle on and then walked over to the mannequins in the window and began to undress them. Someone walked past and walked back to look in the window where Jennifer was standing.

Deciding that today she would venture out into the world, Penelope left her dorm (for she had been studying for a test she was going to have soon), walking merrily down the stairs, through the portrait, and down the corridor. Hands shoved into her hand-me-down jeans, she began wondering what she would do. She'd spent some time in her dorm, and if she wasn't in her dorm, attempting to make it more homey, she was outside or at the Great Hall, eating a meal. Glancing out a nearby window, she spotted what she was going to do today. Penni was going to go shop.
Like any smart person, she kept her money with her, in case some dorm mate was in the mood to go truck-searching. Fishing out what little money she had brought with her, she only found two galleons, and three sickles. Frowning at the small amount, she hoped she would have enough for whatever she was going to buy.
Out the door, and down the steps, Penelope held her cheerful smile on her face, determined to buy at least something small. After a while, she had finally made it to Hogsmeade Village. The place wasn't over populated, nor was it empty. Few people wandered here and there, entering and leaving shops; conversing amongst each other.
Walking down the stone path, Penni looked from shop to shop, deciding where to go first. Passing a shop, something caught her eye. A rather lovely article of clothing. Stopping, she backed up and looked into the window. But now, it wasn't just one article of clothing, it was several. And a half-naked mannequin. Giving a look of confusion at the naked mannequin, Penelope noticed that there was someone undressing it. A woman. The shop keeper, perhaps?
Shrugging at her own thoughts, she walked over to the door, and went inside. Looking over at the possible shop owner, she gave her a small wave, and smiled. "G'afternoon." Penelope said, and began looking about the shop, in awe that there was so many choices in one shop.

When Jennifer was caught stripping a mannequin, she glanced at the customer, then back at the mannequin before looking back at the girl and giving an embarrased smile. The bell above the door rang and jennifer continued to take off the clothing from the mannequin, leaving it completely naked. "Hi, sorry to scare you like that" Jennifer gave a toothy embarrased grin. She bent down and hopped off the windowsill. "I'm Jennifer Queens, the owner. Is there anything I can help you with?" she said, clutching onto the clothing freshly stripped from the mannequin. She walked over to the counter and stood behind it and added hangars to the clothing ready to put out onto the rails.

Hearing the shop owner, who introduced herself as Jennifer Queens, Penelope laughed. "'Is alright. Jus' kinda was confused for a min'te." She responded happily. Inside, she was kicking herself for having such an awkward accent. 'Bloody accent.' She thought. 'Is dad's fault for bein' the one to teach me ta talk.'
Turning back to Jennifer Queens, she smiled. "Er.. Do ya' have anythin' cheap? I'm sorta ona low budget." She asked, trying not to be rude at the same time. Penni hadn't really checked the prices yet, so she wasn't sure what Ms. Queens' opinion of cheap was. Heck, for all she knew, everything could be in her budget.

Jennifer smiled at the girl, she knew that she felt uncomfortable when she asked about the prices of things. "Well, what's your budget? I have a sale rail over here" she said, walking over to the side of the store and pointing at the rail. It was half full of garments, she had a sale rail to make the shop popular. Jennifer finally noticed the girls accent and raised an eyebrow. "That's an interesting accent, where do you come from?" she asked intriguied.

Relief was over her when Jennifer showed her the sales rail. The coins still in her hand, she began fishing around in her robes, and pockets, in case she missed any. Penelope found another three galleons, and a knut. 'Better th'n nothin'' She thought, shrugging to herself again. "'Ive galleons, three sickles, and a knut." Penni confessed, hoping that she'd have enough. Walking over the the rail, she began somewhat looking about, wondering what she'd be able to get, if anything.
When asked about her accent, she turned back to Jennifer, and smiled. "Moss Side. 'Is a poorer side o' England, really. Didn' 'elp that me mum 'nd dad had bad accents, either." Turning back to the rail, she looked at a few more pairs before speaking again. "Picked it up from them, ya see. One o' these days, I plan on gettin' myself aroun' 'nd learnin' ta speak a little bett'r. It'll take some time, though.." Penelope continued. "Name's Penelope by the way. Penelope Arden."

Jennifer watched as the girl fumbled around in her pocket for some money. She felt a little sorry for her, having to scrape around for money like that. "Do you want a cup of tea?" she asked as she headed to the back room to put the kettle on. She came back into the shop floor and sat down behind the counter. The girl talked about her accent and it made Jennifer smile. "I don't think you need to learn the language again, an accent is part of who you are, you shouldn't try to change it" she said as she pulled out another chair and put it next to hers, and patted it for the girl to sit on. "Penelope eh? Pretty name. I used to know a girl called Penelope in school. Very nice girl she was" she said.

Penelope smiled when Jennifer asked if she'd like a cup of tea. "Yes, please." While the shop owner went to put the kettle on, Penni looked at a few pairs of jeans, deciding that her mother's jeans were becoming a bit small on her. She somewhat jumped when Jennifer came back, telling her that her accent was a part of her. That made her smile. Seeing as she pulled out a chair and patted it, Penelope walked over, and sat next to her, smiling. "Did you go to Hogwarts?" She asked, interested.

Waiting for the kettle to boil, Jennifer sat back down on her seat and was asked if she attended hogwarts. "Oh, no I didn't, unfortunately. I went to Beauxbatons, but I was a healer's assistant at Hogwarts for a while, it was probably the best time i'd ever had" she said. "So do you enjoy being at Hogwarts? I know Professor Hubbles, he's a friend of mine" she smiled, standing up and going into the back room to finish off the tea. A moment later she brought out 2 oversized mug's full of steaming tea and handed one to Penelope.

"Beauxbatons? Really? I wen' there for a while." She responded, happy make some sort of connection. Penelope smiled when Jennifer confessed that being a healer's assistant was the bets time she had had. "Yeah. So far, 'is been great." Then, she gave a somewhat confused look, not knowing who Professor Hubbles was. "'M sorry. I sorta jest transferr'd here. Still tryin' ta get aroun'. Hav't exactly gone ta all o' me classes yet.." She confessed, feeling odd for not going to her classes. It was true, she was still trying to get around, and figure out where everything was.

Jennifer smiled when Penelope said she attended Beauxbatons. "Oh really? Why did you leave?" she questioned. Penelope then gave a confused look when Jennifer mentioned a certain teacher. "Oh nevermind, he's the charms professor, you'll probably meet him at some point. He's a nice guy" she gave a dreamy smile. Taking a sip of her tea, jennifer snuffled in her seat. "So what are you doing today?"

Taking a sip of her own tea, Penelope looked back at Jennifer. "Me grandmother was sick fer a while, so we 'ad ta go ta France, 'cause that's where she was livin'." Taking another sip, she shrugged. "I was accepted ta Beauxbatons while we were there. Af'er me grandmother passed away, we moved back into our ol' 'ome." Penni explained.
She watched as Jennifer told her about Professor Hubbles, and noticed the smile, causing Penni to smirk. "Really nice is 'e?" She asked, seeing if she could get Jennifer to tell her what she really thought of Professor Hubbles. "Ah, I really don't know. Still 'aven't really bothered ta go ta any o' my classes.. So I 'ave just been 'anging around.." Pausing for a moment, she looked back at Jennifer. "What made you want ta open a clothin' shop?" Penelope asked, curious as to why a clothing shop, and not anything else.

When Jennifer heard about Penelope's grandmother she was taking a sip of tea, and quickly set the cup down on the counter. She flashed Penelope a sympathetic look. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear about that" is all she could simply say. Death was always a touchy subject with anyone, let alone with someone you had just met. "I found beauxbatons very strict, and most of it was un-necessary" she explained to her. She did like it there when she attended but she would of preferred to be at Hogwarts. Then Penelope commented on Professor Hubbles and Jennifer smiled again. "Yes, a very nice man. He's really friendly with his students too, so you should see him soon" she said, taking another sip of tea. Turning her attention back to the shop, she turned back to Penelope. "Found anything you like then?" she questioned.
