Crash crash crash came from her room as her roommates bird knocked down a lamp, a bedside mirror, and a bottle of juice Kendal had on her nightstand. Normally she ignored the bird letting it have free roam of the room because she just didn't want to deal with the aggravation but now the thing was destroying her room not to mention the smell. She had enough she had been roused from sleep by the most inconsiderate animal she had ever had the misfortune of meeting.
"Ok I've kept my mouth shut for too long, I'm sorry but that bird has to go you need to take it to the owlery with the other owls he doesn't belong in this room and if he's here later I'm going to go to the head of house because he's not allowed in here all day."
She wasn't the type to do such things Kendal liked the easy life so she tried not to make waves but that bird was a menace. The girl gave he a sour look and Kendal felt horrible but she chose not to back down. Nodding curtly she got up and left the room to prepare for a Hogsmeade weekend.
Leaving the castle in a much better mood she knew just where she wanted to go as soon as she reached the village. For the last few days all she could think about was a mug of butterbeer. Only one place made the very best and that was The Three Broomsticks. Opening the door she saw a lot of her classmates even her sour faced roommate. Deciding she didn't want to do the crowd thing she sat at the bar ordering her drink.
A slight breeze alerted her to someone else's arrival Kendal didn't turn her head not at first until someone came near her.

Ella snuggled further into her jacket as she walked to The Three Broomsticks. She was so cold, she just needed to get warmth, and she loved it there.
As Ella opened the door, the door hit a bell, and it rang softly, alerting the workers a new customer has arrived. Ella saw classmates at tables here and there, most of which she didnt talk to. Ella absentmindedly headed to take a seat at a bar stool, hoping up beside a girl of whom she was not familiar with. As Ella ordered a hot chocolate, she turned to look at the girl. Didn't she go to Hogwarts?

Kendal got her butterbeer and greedily took a sip before allowing the cup to touch the bar. "MMM" was the sound that could be heard coming from her mouth as she lost herself in the taste of her favorite drink. It took her a minute to realize that someone else had taken a seat next to her.
It was a girl didn't bother her at first so she took another sip of her drink. Then she glanced again at the girl who looked to be around her age. Kendal hadn't seen her around so she wasn't even sure if they were in school together but it was probably a safe bet that they were.
The girl was looking at Kendal now too so she figured she may as well be polite "Oh hey there you go to Hogwarts? I'm uh Kendal Montgomery." She even did the old grown up hold out your hand for a shake.

The girl caught Ella studying her, which made Ella blush in the slightest. She didn't want to come off in a freak sort of way. As the girl introduced herself, Ella grabbed teh hand she held out and shook it, greeting her. "Yes, I'm in Slytherin. Ella Malfoy, A pleasure to meet you, Kendal!"
They stopped their hand shake right after Ella had revealed her identity to the girl, and she inwardly braced herself for whatever reaction may come. A slytherin and a Malfoy were definitly not normally a good mix for people outside of Slytherin. But lately, she had been talking to some outside of Slytherin, so she never quite knew what was coming when she made her own introduction. Sometimes she just decided to leave the little details out, and other times, she just spilt.

Kendal did not have to wait too long before the girl took her hand and introduced herself. Kendal thought she was probably a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor because she did not give off the air of a haughty Slytherin, but she assumed and well what happens when one assumes...She was just what Kendal feared most.
Right after Ella revealed herself Kendal could not help but look at her in shock. After all Kendal had seen they Slytherins do to others it was hard for her to believe that there was a nice one in the bunch. This one did seem different but maybe it was just a ploy.
Kendal had no intention of being rude that was not how she was brought up and the girl had not done a thing to her for her to be rude so Kendal just sucked it up. "It's real nice to meet you Ella, so hot chocolate eh? I had to have a butterbeer I love it." Then she remembered where she had seen Ella before. "Aren't you in my muggle studies class?" A Slytherin taking muggle studies was one of those odd rare occurrences another sign that maybe she was different.

Ella noticed the look of shock upon the girls' face, but it quickly disappeared as conversation was made. Ella inwardly was relieved, then relized, just as the girl had mentioned, that they were in the same Muggle Studies class.
Ella shrugged "Yes, actually, I think we are" Ella nodded her head, although she was not a big fan of the teacher, she knew that it was not as bad of a class as Ella always made it out to be.
"What year are you?" Ella asked, curiously. The girl looked somewhere around Ella's age, but she was curious.

Kendal was still having just a touch of trouble believing that the girl was actually nice. Nice and Slytherin well those two words were certainly not synonymous. Most of the time Slytherin's spent their waking hours making the other students miserable especially Hufflepuffs whom they thought were well beneath them even those of pure blood.
This one seemed different and Kendal just tried to take that at face value. Eyes were on both of them several people were watching wondering what business the two could have with one another but Kendal chose to ignore them what did they know anyway. That's where all the problems started talk and speculation.
"I'm a fifth year, two more years left to go so I'm excited though not about taking O.W.L.'s. What about you? I think you may be just a bit ahead of me right?"

"I'm a sixth year" Ella replied to Kendal, becoming aware of the glances of confusion and some repulsion they were getting. Some people had quite the nerve, Ella had to admit.
Growing bored, Ella was presented with a thought. It was random, but it was daring. Ella leaned closer to the Hufflepuff. "Do you want to have some fun?" Ella asked, smirk plastered on, and one eyebrow raised.

What are those two doing together she heard a Ravenclaw girl whisper to her friend, a friend that happened to her a Gryffindor. How easy it was for someone to be judgmental when they weren't bothering to look at themselves before commenting. Kendal would admit that she'd be the first to say she didn't go looking to make friends with Slytherins, this girl hadn't done a thing to her though so she had no need to be mean to her or to judge her.
So when Ella whispered asking if she wanted to have some fun Kendal figured what was the use of saying now. She'd rather be doing something fun then getting pissed off because of some twits. "Yeah sure why not fun is always good, fun is totally necessary right about now. So what did you have in mind?"

Ella glared at the whispering girls, as they turned back to their drinks, glancing up and silently giggling to each other. As Ella leaned in closer to tell Kendal, she noticed a boy sitting next to her listening in. How was it this entertaining!? "Piss off!" Ella hissed, then turning back to Kendal, shaking her head in amazement. Maybe it wasn't just the Slytherin associating with another house. Maybe it was that she was a Malfoy. Could it? But not everyone knew that, did they?
"Want to go to the Shrieking Shack?" Ella raised her eyebrows, and whispered it to Kendal. Ella knew most ghosts were harmless, but anything was possible in the shrieking shack. Many strange things happened there. People being hexed, disappearences, and some of the greatest stories of adrenaline rushing fun she had ever heard.

Piss off Ella said, Kendal laughed. "Nosy git I mean really you would think we were conspiring to blow the place up or something. Why are people staring at us so much. I mean you're a Slytherin I'm a Hufflepuff it's not a likely pairing but it's not totally unheard of right?" Maybe there was something more, something she was missing but no one was telling her any different so as far as she was concerned Ella was cool.
Seeing the boy turn his head Ella felt comfortable enough to tell her what she had in mind. "The Shrieking Shack, I can honestly say I haven't been there before maybe part of me is just a bit scared but if you're gonna go with me I guess I can manage not to freak out on you. Let's go this place isn't enjoyable anymore anyway."
Moving away from her seat she waited for Ella. Their adventure could begin now.
