It was late, and Maria was on one of late night strolls around the school. She listened her quiet footsteps. After years of wandering the corridors at night, she had learned to step softly, so that it was hardly audible at all. Turning a corner, Maria immediately saw what she always hated seeing while on her little walks, a professor, who was coming in her general direction but fortunately hadn't noticed her. Quickly she turned, remembering that the room of requirement was nearby.
All she needed was a place to rest for a while, a place where she wouldn't get caught by the professor and possibly lose Hufflepuff housepoints for being out too late. She slipped into the door that appeared. Looking around the small room, Maria smiled. It was a cozy room, decorated in the colors of all the houses. There was a crackling fireplace and in front of it a welcoming chair. A bookshelf stood to the side of the room full of books.
Walking over to the bookshelf, Maria slid her hand along the spines of the books until she saw one that looked somewhat interesting. She had seen "troll" in the title, and figured that it would be a good book to pass the time with. Walking over to the chair she sat down in front of the fireplace, and began to read the story of a great wizard who defeated a horrid troll.

Alexine was really upset with herself. She had read a book in the diary, she usually doesn't like books but this boook was special to her. Although it was a fairytale it was important to her. She always had her moments of homesickness during the long terms at Hogwarts. This was a homesickness moment. A 14 year old girl with homesickness, didn't sound real tough. She missed her mother, father and little sister. The house in Switzerland and even her bitchy neighbour Angelica, who she hated since they met. A salt tear blinked at her cheek. She wanted to cry all night but she first needed to get in the Hufflepuff common room. She heard a heavy breathe followed by a person reaching her with firm footsteps. She was in shock. She couldn't get in the Hufflepuff common room before this freaky person, whoever it may be could give her detention or worse points taken. Alexine was not the dumbest and realised that she was near the Room of Requirement. She ran to the wall with this great room, which maybe could be her holy saviour. She thought by herself: I need a safe and comfy room where no professors can get in, with a box of tissues.I don't want to be caught and I wanna cry out. The scary person reached her and could almost grab her hand. She thought one more time. The person tried to grab her hand but it was to late. She fell in the Room of Requirement, her holy saviour. She liay down for a moment. She could hardly realise what almost happened. She sighed and slowly stood up. She saw another girl sitting comfy in one of the relaxing chairs in front of the fire place reading a book. Alexine examined the girl and saw it was a Hufflepuff. Alexine smiled for a moment, she walked to the girl and noticed that the girl was reading a book about trolls. As Alexine sat down in one of those incredibly relaxing chairs, and said: So, you got here to. What's your name? Have we met before? How did you get here?Do you come here often? Alexine asked it all at once and wondered if the girl could give a proper answer to all that questions, did the girl even feel like all those questions?

Maria looked up from her book as she heard someone else enter the room. She watched as the girl stood up and walked over, sitting down in one of the chairs. The book was still sitting in her lap open to page which she had been in the middle of reading. Listening to the girl spew questions, Maria gave her a skeptical look. For a few moments she just sat there looking at the girl as though she weren't going to answer.
Finally with a small sigh Maria spoke,"Hello," she said with a small smile in her polite voice. "I'm Maria, Maria Turolia. And while I have seen you about the common room, I do not believe we have had the pleasure of each other's company before. I suppose I got here the same way you did. I needed a place and it appeared. Do I come here often? Not too often," Maria answered all the questions with a great deal of patience as she looked at the girl, waiting for the answers to the same questions.

The girl wasn't that happy with all the questions she asked but, she answered and in a polite way. What goes around comes back around so Alexine had to answer those same annoying questions too.
'Well I am Alexine Roise and I think I've seen you before.I needed a safe place where no professors can get in. And this is the first time I am here.I also asked for a box of tissues so..'
Alexine took the box of tissues she wished for and cleaned her eyes. She leaned back in those great comfy chairs.'I think I can sleep here tonight. I saw you were reading about trolls, do they interest you? Might be a stupid question..'

"It is lovely to meet you, Alexine," Maria said maintaining the same politeness. She had been enjoying the quiet, alone time, but now that she had company she knew she would just have to adjust. It certainly wasn't too much of a disruption since the girl did seem rather pleasant.Maria watched as the girl wiped her eyes with a tissue. She wasn't really in the mood to ask what was wrong, and certainly didn't feel like having to comfort the girl if the question upset her more, so Maria simply answered Alexine's question.
"Yes, of course they interest me. All creatures interest me. It is the fault of my aunt really; she has always talked to me about magical creatures and their importance. Dragons, especially," Maria said with a smile at all the conversations she had had with Aurora about dragons. As much as she despised the woman at times, Maria did have to admit that her aunt had taught her an awful lot.

'Dragons, pretty dangerous.Interesting at the same time. Turolia was your surname..I've heard about a teacher Dragonology, her surname was also Turolia, must sound familiar to you.'Alexine sighed.'I would wish to be an animagus, they can change whenever they like.It can get you in strange secret corners or something else.'
Alexine walked to the bookshelf and read every title. She still had the fairytale under her arm,but this girl seemed tough so it wasn't that big girl-like to read the fairytale. She picked a book of which its title was 'muggles and how to live with them' Alexine knew really good how to live with muggles because her mother is one. She sat down again in the same relaxing chair, which was still warm from her past presence. Alexine opened the book and started to read.

Maria smiled slightly at the girl's statement. "Familiar is an understatement," she said in the cold, calculating voice that her family always brought out in her. "She's my aunt." Maria shook her head slightly to allow herself to relax and be her usual cheery self, because she wasn't around her family so she didn't need to be in her indifferent mood.
"Yes, I do suppose being an animagus would come in very handy," Maria said with a chuckle. She knew that eventually she would learn to turn herself into an animal. It was something her grandmother prided herself in teaching to all the Turolia's at some point. Maria had fortunately managed to put it off this long. Studying with her grandmother would certainly not be pleasant.

"Your aunt? Well, do you get reaction on what she does? Some people get affected by the people close to them who are acting weird although that isn't correct at all? It's just one of my other stupid questions.."
Alexine sighed, she wasn't the smartest at all, this didn't mean you had to ask stupid questions, Alexine was master in asking stupid questions.Almost God. Alexine never bothered to learn, when she did, it didn't make any sense because the information wasn't coming into her head at all.
