Sarie had smiled at what Hubbles had said. He was the type to have things in the room blow up. "Reducto" She called pointed it at the desk. Watching turn to tiny pieces she pointed at the chair. No point of leaving it there on its own. "Bumbada" (ooc think thats how you spell it) Then the chair blew apart.

Akihiro hesitated in the doorway, unsure if he should go in. It looked like class was already session. He stod there, biting his nails nervously. Finally gathering up his courage, he stepped timidly into the room. "Um, hello Professor. Sorry I'm late." he said softly in his Japanese-accented voice. A blush colored his cheeks as he rushed to an empty seat. He looked up at the board and read the instructions. Slowly, and feeling as if every eye in the room was on him, he made his way up to the front where the boxes were. Reaching down, he pulled out a pendant, he smiled slightly. It bore the symbols of Yin and Yang. Clutching the pendant in his hand, he made his way back to his seat, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

She didn't want him to feel even more nervous but she had just distoried her old seat she moved next to him. "Hey Aki whats up? I haven't see lately." She said.

Aki stared down at his desk, tracing patterns with his index finger. A sudden voice made him jump, he looked up. "Oh, uh...hi Sarie." he said softly, still blushing. He fell silent once more, not sure what to say...

Dahlia walked slowly into the class room. Her usually dark eyes were almost black with anger. Her hair feel softly upon her shoulders, the only softness in her appearance. She had just spent most of the period arguing with that stupid Herbology teacher. She had actually accused Dahlia of plagiarism! Can you believe that, Dahlia, plagiarism! The greenhouse had gotten pretty heated when Dahlia tried to defend herself. She had work long and hard on that paper, and like usual, it was perfect. Perfect handwriting, perfect spelling, perfect grammar, and perfect topic. Apparently, Beckket had thought it too perfect and had called the Slytherin out on it. Now Dahlia had gotten an incomplete in her class, and a major headache to top it all off.
She walked in Charms very, very late. The class was half over by the time Dahlia walked in, still fumming. The walk hadn't been long enough, and the cold air outside wasn't helping. She slide into a desk and took a deep breathe. Everyone around her was working on something. Changing things, making them move. Dahlia had thought she had maybe wandered in to the wrong class, going to transfiguration instead. Oh no. Dahlia saw red hair and realized she was right where she was supposed to be, if not very late.
Dahlia took out her wand, and pretended to do something. She saw the professor and sighed. "Yeah, I'm late, I know..." she said with a sigh, then the defense started, "but Professor Beckket held me back and I couldn't..." She stopped she wasn't going to whine like some stupid Hufflepuff. She read the board and got up, pushing passed the professor gently to get to the box. She reached in and pulled out...a fern. How fitting. She wanted to throw the foliage on the ground and stomp on it. Stupid plant. However, she conquered her desires and walked back to her seat, sliding back in, sitting up straight, looking at the other students, trying to figure out what she was supposed to do.

((eeeep this is called neglecting your lesson very sorry! If you want to bring new people in feel free I will not moan at you for being late do not worry hahaha!))
Just as he had commanded things started to explode all around the classroom and the Professor could not help but stand in awe as each object burst into flames or millions of tiny pieces. First of all Via somehow managed to make the yellow notepad self combust and as Dan rushed over to her desk he watched with wide eyes as the embers of the burning paper floated down joining the remains of the flower.
“Oh Via!” Dan grinned as he found it hard not to laugh “That was bloody brilliant twenty points to….”
Dan did not get to finish off the awarding of points as a loud smash occurred near the back of the room, looking up Dan saw the remains of one of the tables and just as he was adjusting to the fact a table had blown up the chair that had been standing with it shattered into millions of splinters as well, the culprit was the young Gryffindor Sarie who seemed quite happy with herself.
“Miss Thimble.” Dan approached her rather slowly a nervous smile on his face. “Those were very good casts so you can have a few points but I would appreciate it next time if you did not blow up my classroom furniture, there are plenty of items left in the box for your to cast spells on.”
With a softer smile at the young Gryffindor Dan pulled out his wand and with a few flicks the shards of wood formed themselves back into the shape of the chair and table and although it looked a little more battered then before a good kick proved to Dan that it was not going to fall to pieces the next time someone sat at it. Slipping his wand back into his robe pocket Dan made his way to the front of the classroom only to notice that the brown furred train that has been sitting in front of Ellie was now brightly coloured and would not go amiss in a muggle toyshop. Stopping in front of her desk Dan put his hands on his hips and looked down at the rainbow coloured train.
“Now that is beautiful Miss Rook. Have ten points for your efforts, now everyone should pay attention to this.” Dan’s voice grew a bit louder and he picked up the toy train so everyone could see it. “This just shows that magic is not just blowing things up and excuses to be lazy it can allow us to produce amazing things and gives us opportunities to make things right.” He carefully placed the train back on the table and made his way back to the chalkboard while still talking. “Magic demands our respect as if we do not use it responsibly terrible things can happen. There is such a thin line between right and wrong things can easily get confused so what is the difference between charms and dark magic?”
He left the question hanging and sat down on top of his desk, legs crossed, figures tapping the surface and a grin on his face waiting for someone to speak up.

Ash spoke up, " A charm, is usually harmless, and like we've said earlier, gives objects new properties, such as the Color Changing Charm for example. All it does, is cause something to change color, but there is no lasting damage to it, in fact, there's really no damage at all. Unless of course you use it on someone, and they come after you, then there's probably going to be bodily damage to yourself!" he joked with a small smile, then became serious once more,
"Dark Magic, on the other hand, is of course normally used by Dark Wizards, of course even Light Wizards, are familiar with them, and they kind of have to be, in order to know what to do if ever faced with one. Dark Magic, like the three Unforgiveable Curses are usually used with malevolence, because often, anger is not enough. Take the Cruciatus Curse for example, some casting the Cruciatus Curse has to want to cause their victim pain, they can't just decide to curse them in a fit of anger, you have to want it. Of course, in my personal opinion, it doesn't make much sense that one can't effectively cast the Cruciatus, unless they want to cause pain, and yet, almost anyone can cast the worst curse of all, the Killing Curse."
((ok, that sucks....but it is all I have time for))

Felicity pouted and moved the bird to sit on her shoulder. "I am not blowing up Jeffery." She pet the bird lightly, and watched as mini explosions happened around the classroom. Well, Sarie's wasn't so mini, but still wicked all the same. She shot Ellie a large grin for earning herself ten points, and did a small thumbs up.
Her attention then turned to Ash as he spoke up about dark magic. As he explained them, the way he worded it sparked something in Felicity's mind. Epiphany! As soon as Ash finished speaking, she spoke up.
"But, couldn't it be argued that they have a lot of the same properties as well? For example, in both situations, the user wants something out of his spell. Take Ellie for example, she didn't want a tail on her train, but a perfectly whole train." She glanced at Ellie, grinned, then turned back to Hubbles. "In dark magic, it's much the same. With the Cruciatus curse, the user wants to cause pain."
(meh, bad post xD )

Sarie blushed, and sat down in her seat. She rested her chin on hand and waited for Hubble's to continue. She was glad she had gotten points. She hadn't heard about the box. She told herself to listen closer. She smiled.

Ellie had just sat back when a large explosion jolted her upright. She looked over at a small Gryffindor who continued to blow up Professor Hubble's classroom. Ellie put her hand to her mouth to stop a small laugh from emitting. Seriously, Ellie didn't think that Hubbles meant to go blow up the school. Ellie shook her head and rolled her eyes a Fay, who was happily playing with her bird, Jeffery, on her shoulder.
Ellie blushed furiously as Hubble chirped her praises. She hadn't thought it was that good, inventive, but easy magic. Ellie guessed that Hubbles was one of the few Professors who appreciated imaginative quality along with the correct results. Ellie smiled as he placed her train down. "Thanks Professor!" She said with a smile in response to the point given. Hufflepuff were ruling the class today! She smiled as she spotted Fay's thumbs up.
Ellie listened to Ash give a long winded description of Charms and then Dark Magic. She was thinking of how to reply, when Fay spoke up. Ellie nodded. "I know where Fay's coming from, but isn't that just magic in general. All magic you have to want to do something before you do, because they why would you do it in the first place." Ellie paused, trying to figure out the tangle of words she had just spoke. "Anyway, I think the only connector is that Charms and the Dark Arts both require magic, and well, any wizard and every wizard is capable of doing them." Ellie said, concluding her thought.

Things were going wonky in the room, things blowing up, small explosions, things being blasted. If you asked her the professor was putting them all in danger with this little assignment. Some of the students obviously needed to be monitored and not after they set something on fire before it happened in the first place. Now he was left walking around trying to normalize things. Angel was ready for it to be done but that wasn't to be now was it.
No, they had to talk now. Discuss the difference between Charms and dark magic. She laughed to herself lowly because there was a difference between the two yes but charms could be used just a viciously as a dark spell.
Deciding to put her two cents in it she gave her opinion. "Yes both are magic and in both instances you have to want it in order to cast the spell but think of it like this. Engorgio is a charm but imagine putting that spell on your enemy? Memory charms are used against others all the time. Charms and Dark Magic they're both magic, it's all in how you use them because even an innocent charm can be used as a not so innocent tool against ones enemy."

Dan sat patiently on his desk, his fingers tapping out a small rhythm as he waited for the silence to be broken by a student; in fact he waited for the silence to be broken by Ellie. His gaze kept flickering towards the Hufflepuff and was most surprised when the first voice to speak out was in fact Ashton. Trying not to look too surprised that the Ravenclaw had spoken out Dan listened carefully to what he had to say and nodded his head with a small smile on his face. Ashton gave a very text book answer and Dan was about to raise a point of argument when Felicity got their before him. With a small chuckle the Professor nodded his head encouragingly only for Ellie to talk up and back up Fay’s point.
Dan could not help but be impressed how the class where taking one question and evolving it into their own debate, it is what he liked to she, it showed that they were thinking and that they actually understood what was going on and when the Slytherin joined in the debate Dan really had to stop himself from laughing.
“Brilliant!” He finally spoke as he jumped off the desk and slowly began to walk from side to side at the front of the class. “10 points to you all, I am very impressed with all of your points. But Miss Juliette really hit the nail on the head by mentioning how it was all about the user’s intent but of course that is when people’s debate of right and wrong set in.”
Dan found himself subconsciously running his tracing his hand over where the scar on his chest was from his slight run in with dark magic and a disgruntled Ravenclaw. It was this very same Ravenclaw that a few fun incidents occurred and many of the spells they used on each other would be seen as dark magic. Trying to ignore this small stab of guilt and focus back on his lesson Dan jumped around to face the class and clapped his hands together in excitement as it was time for more fun.
“Ok then guys, just like before with the items you picked from the box I want you to cast two spells. One that could be seen as dark magic and another that would be seen as light magic so to speak!”

Ellie was very interested in the conversation. Is it bad that she was so interested in the topic of Dark Magic. She wondered. She guessed that it wasn't the dark magic that interested her as much as the way that magic becomes labeled as "Dark". Which posed a question in her mind.
"Not to interrupt Professor, but is there a definite line between dark and "light" magic? For in stance, what if someone used, a spell for good intentions, but something went wrong and the result would have been something from a darker source. Or is that what you mean by the debate between right and wrong?"
Ellie had a bad habit of asking questions which just say exactly what the Professor just said except in different words. She blushed hoping she wasn't making herself to sound the an incomprehensible idiot.
Ellie nodded to the task set a head. It was difficult, well at least to her. It required major thinking. Ellie had almost fizzled out her thinking muscle today, but considering to was Charms and considering it was Professor Hubbles, she would attempt a good effort.
Ellie perked up as she thought of a somewhat decent idea. Considering she had a train in front of her, none of her ideas seemed to work, except for this one. She started off easy. Horribly easy, but it was the best she could think of. She took a guess. She knew that the spell to move an object began with Mobili-something. The trick was get the correct second part of the spell. Ellie hoped and prayed she was on the right track. She raised her wand and swished nicely saying: "Mobililocomotor." The train rosed from the desk and Ellie smiled. The train started to move in a tracked circle Ellie set out with her wand. She smiled as it chugged along. Perfect.
Now for the dark side. Ellie frowned as she did this. She liked her train, she didn't really want to hurt it. However, she must. She knew that she had to at least give a believable attempt to cause the train harm or the dark spell would come out badly. With a deep sigh, Ellie concentrated, her eyes sharp as she looked at the train moving about.
"Incarcerous!" Ellie shouted loudly, so even she believed she was angry. Roped shot from her wand and wove themselves around the small wooden train tightly. Ellie concentrated hard. Her hand began to shake, her face got red. She pushed what ever horrible feelings she had out to that train. The train stopped moving about, and the ropes got tighter and tighter and tighter. The sound of cracking wood was soon heard. The Train looked like it was struggling to continue its happy way around the circle. Ellie just pushed and pulled harder. With on last effort, Ellie groaned slightly and the train broke in pieces from the tightness of the ropes.
Ellie released her power. She watched the train fall to the desk the wood splintered, breaking more as it hit the desk. Ellie looked at it, her face still red. the train didn't move, the colors were faded from the burn of the ropes. It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. She looked up at the Professor, her eyes sad and dead. She never wanted to feel that way again.

Dan stroked his stubble absentmindedly as he listened to what Ellie had to say, she had a good point and it made Dan think. A far off gaze spread across the Professor as he thought on the matter some more trying think of the best way of wording what he had to say to try and prevent any more confusion.
“This is an area where the law of magic does get very cloudy; the intent of the caster is what matters but as you said accidents can happen. Of course the Ministry has laws against many of the spells that are automatically classed as ‘Dark Magic’ and of course the three unforgivable…which in my opinion is not enough, there are spells out there just as bad as those three.” Dan shrugged, knowing he was going off the point, but it was a very hard question to answer. “But yes it is all a moral dilemma of right and wrong as what is evil for one person may not be for another and in court cases that can become a very vicious circle.”
Dan was slightly annoyed with himself that he could not think of anything else to say on the matter, and as the class got on with casting their spells Dan perched on the end of his desk just thinking. Although this process was soon brought to a stop at the sound of something happening right in front of him…the train set was being squeezed to within an inch of its life and then right before hi eyes it snapped and became a pile of splinters and shards of wood.
The look of sadness in the eyes of the Hufflepuff made Dan stop suddenly, he hated seeing any of his Hufflepuff’s, heck anyone look like that and so Dan thought it was his right to do something. Dark Arts was not something for a Charms lesson, although he was doing it to prove a point the lessons should be separated so people have a choice to do it or not. With a small nervous cough Dan looked down at Ellie and offered her a small smile before turning to the rest of the class.
“Right, er…we shall call it a day there I think guys. Thanks for coming along and see you all soon!”
Offering the class a small wink he walked back to his desk, picking up the box of odd’s and ends before entering his office, where Girty was still shouting profanities about as she knocked over yet another stack of books.
[The lesson is now over! Please leave in a sensible fashion!]
