I think it might be interesting to have the Mirror of Erised. We could either create a whole new board for it, or have it be a sub-board. I just think it would be interesting to see how the Mirror affects people, because in the books, Dumbledore said that sometimes men spent all of their time in front of the mirror and went crazy because the mirror shows us our hearts deepeest desires, but not how to get them. So, I think that aspect would be neat to see. What are the students deepest desires, and how will the Mirror ultimately affect them? Can they handle it, or will they go mad?

Oh man! I totally agree.
Can you imagine all the wicked things that could happen in relation to the Big Plot as well? The mirror, if alive and sadistic, would be incredibly eerie.
Also, we need new and unconventional places to RP. There are many opportunities with this idea!
Kudos, Kris.

Yeah I think this idea could really work with or without the plot. I mean, students could find it and it will show what they desire but I'm sure what they desire will change all the time. I'm sure many fun aspects can be had using this.
And it will work perfectly for the big plot. People seeing what they want in the mirror and then maybe they really get what they want but with that evil twist. So for example when Harry saw his parents, his parents would of come out of the mirror as ghosts and haunted him.

I totally agree - this could be a huge tool in the Big Plot.
With statues and portrait subjects going walk about, it could be seriously fun to have the Mirror respond to this Dark magic in the same way. People's desires stepping through their reflections and becoming real has a lot of potential, and I also like Darin and SJ's nightmarish twist of the Mirror being malevolent. It see's what you want, and gives you the complete opposite...
I'm loving this! The great thing about this Plot is that the more you abuse it, the better it becomes...

I've already talked about this with SJ and Amy, but I'll voice it here anyways. A good idea, yes, but has a very, very, very high percentage of error and failure. If this happens, the infamous attention-seekers (not going to name names, but you all know who I'm talking about) will go out of their way to have the biggest, badass post of all and try to continually duel eachother for attention, not to mention the 'best (or in this case, most devastating)' result from what they saw in the mirror. The thought was good, but this will only work if it's RPed by people who won't take it out of control and in a strict rule set. Otherwise, I'm going to have to say, Do away with it and don't bring it into the plot. We don't need any more attention seekers and RP destroyers,God modders or anyone who can escape a crumbling castle, dodge every bullet/spell cast at them, do everything in the world amazingly well with every bit of skill only at the age of 11-17 and have every sort of magical ability at the same age ever invented/discovered by man/wizard or any of the likes included in the plot. We have too many and it would ruin the plot.

I think the problems you're concerned about are all in the back of our minds, Ze. I reckon everyone's feeling pretty agreeable and considerate of each other after that group hug the other day though... I reckon we should give it a shot, because I don't think anyone's going to go overboard anytime soon.
This Mirror idea has a lot of potential and variables, and I'm sure we're all creative enough to come up with ideas that won't upset one another. I agree with you though, as you've already stated. Let's be cool, people.

I agree some people could possibly try and be the top dog, but If we discuss it properly with Gail or Liz and all as a group I think we can work out all the kinks ^_^
So here's to another cool idea! *clunks glass*

Yay for plot ideas!
From what you guys have been saying it seems like you all have an idea of what could possibly happen and the possibilities of threads and I like it alot!!!! In my mind I see it sort of like the ‘Destroy a Wish’ game…but one you could actually role play hehehe! That not everything your heart desires is good type of thing…
I hear what Ze is saying, but like what Amy and SJ said I am sure we can work together and stop such things from happening. I think the New Plot itself needs some work done on it and rules brought in to help stop Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu behaviour so I guess it could be entwined with that.
But yes I like this idea…so you have my backing! Up to Miss Gail now hehehe!

Sounds like it would be a good addition to Ridd to me! Definately interesting with the plot ^^ I'll bring it in with the new year (as thats only 8 days away)
I think its right to have a few concerns about it, but the fact that these has been voiced now, before its creation, should help us avoid it. & As long as we keep an eye on things.. should be fine I reckon. =)
