(Owlery) Best view in the house

Bradyn had walked all the way up to the owlery that evening and sat in the crook of the owl window. His trusty owl, Moose, sat on his shoulder and he gently pet the top of his feathery head. When he was bored, he usually came up there and just sat and watched outside. He watched the Quiditch pitch if it was active with training, the sunset, the people moving below even though he couldn't tell who it was. Whatever there was to see, he watched it from far above in the owlery on days like these. Days that seemed to go so slow and he couldn't be bothered to go to all his classes and just hid out for a couple with the owls.

Bray was actually surprised it was empty right now, it's usual full of people coming in and out all like 'What are you doing up here?' and he just shrugged his shoulders, not quite sure how to answer. Bradyn reached into his bag, careful not to disturb his feathered friend and pulled out a packet of parchment. After he inked his quill a bit, he just doodled aimlessly on his parchment while sitting in the windowsill listening to the sounds outside.

Walking along the twisting and winding corridors, Polaris peered around at all the paintings and masonry the building had to offer. Finally finding herself at one of the highest towers in the castle, she was confronted by two great doors leading into a round, dome shaped room filled with thousands of owls. "So this is where they go.." Polaris whispered to herself as she walked in and looked straight up. She wasn't sure that this was such a good idea and began to feel very uncomfortable, resulting in her scooting over to the edge of the room where no owls sat above her.

Spotting a figure over looking the scenery below, Polaris tilted her head as she approached cautiously as not to startle him. "Bradyn...?"

Bradyn heard footsteps coming down the hallway. "Hope it's not a professor, but if it is, I'll just say I don't have class right now.." He said to Moose and continued to pat his head. Of course the person had to come into the owlery. He pretended he wasn't there, and was considereing transforming into his animagi form when he heard them talking to him.

But it wasn't a general hello, they seemed to know who he was and their voice was pretty familiar. Bray turned around and saw that it was indeed Pol. "Oh, hey Pol." He said and turned a bit so he could face her better. "Sending a letter?" He asked, curiously, though that was usually the only reason someone came to the owlery. If anyone came in to bother him, he was glad it was one of his friends rather than just a random kid.

"Sending a letter..? Oh..no. I was just roaming around when my feet led me to this place. Is this where people come to send letters back home..?" She asked quietly while sticking close to the wall. Looking out the large windows of the room, she had noticed that the sun was setting and that it was beginning to to snow very lightly. Polaris shivered slightly as a draft reached her. "It's a bit cold up here...do you generally come up here to be alone?"

Bradyn nodded. "Yep, this is where the out mail goes, up here in the owlery." He said and gestured to all the owls spread around in the room cleaning themselves, eating, sleeping and the like. "And I just come up here because it's high up, I'd probably roam around aimlessly on my broom if I wouldn't turn into a popcicle." That was one of the view traits of his animagus form that carried through to him; love of heights.

For some reason, being alone with Pol made him a bit nervous but that's only to be expected he guessed. "You haven't been up here before?" He asked, somewhat shocked. Bray thought that most homesick first years had made many trips to the owlery.

Taking a seat on the floor before turning her eyes on Bradyn, she shook her head. "No, never. My own just comes and goes as he pleases." She picked up faintly on his nervousness, earing him a warm smile. "If you think I'm going to push you out the window, just relax." Polaris said, attempting the lighten up the mood.

Eyeing his owl for a moment, she almost melted. "Your owl is adorable.."

{ me too, I love them, they're so sweet. I named Bray's owl after my cat. LOL. }

Bray shrugged. "That's kinda nice in a way, it's a pretty long hike up here, or so I've heard from people." He laughed at Pol's next comment, though he hadn't considered that option since he was not afraid of heights like most people."Oh that's good, because there's not a window pane in this one." Pol wouldn't do that anyway, she's too softhearted.

Bradyn grinned and poked his owl a bit. "Why don't you go greet the pretty lady, Moose? Go on, go say hello." He said, encouraging the bird to fly over and land on her shoulder. Hopefully he wouldn't startle her, he is a bit overweight for an owl.

Polaris melted as the owl landed on her shoulder and wide grin appeared on her lips while she lifted a hand to pet the owl on the head. "He's so precious..." Polaris gave a laugh, realizing how goofy she must have sounded. "I'm sorry, I'm just such an animal person.."

Polaris was beginning to like this place, high up off the ground with quite the view. "This place really is beautiful..I'm glad I found it and that you're here." she blushed at the last part, not exactly having it mean what it sounded like. "I mean, I am grateful that you're here and not a rude Slytherine."

"Yeah, I bet he loves being the center of attention, and wouldn't it be harder to believe that you, being an animagus, weren't an animal lover?" He laughed and hoped that Moose wouldn't bite her or anything since he tended to like to nibble on fingers. Bradyn fished around in his pocket and pulled out an owl treat and tossed to him to distract his mouth for a while.

"That's what I like about it up here, people think that only the astronomy tower has a good view, but I think this one's better if you can stand the birds and the smell." He said, leaning back against the window pane again, careful to not fall out and be impaled. Bray smiled watching Pol coo over his owl, really surprised that she didn't come up here just to visit with them.
