hey guys, um a student at my school died Saturday night at 11:43, he was a 17 year old Junior, same as myself. I didn't know him personally, but I said 'hi' to him once in awhile, so...
apparently he was speeding, lost control of the car, crossed over into the other lane, and collided with an omncoming car. police say that he also was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

You could be a little more sympathetic you know, Pol.
But yeah, that's sad.
Drunk driving? Or just like, drag racing?

I'm sorry for what happened Kris, that's dreaful.
Now onto Polaris.
[ranting time] Now that was just plain, freaking rude. Someone actually lost their life and the only thing you can respond with is 'congratulations'? I'm sorry, but I'm not taking that.
If you don't care about what happened, then fine, but don't say so like that.
I have no idea what your motives behind doing that were, whether it was for attention or something else, but honestly, that's a real jerkish thing to say. [/endrant]
(*cough* Sorry for the outburst)

Rude? Yes. Sympathetic? No. It's the kids own fault, Kris even said that speed was a factor. The kid was 17 years old and had the responsibility of holding a license.
I simply see the irrelavence in the post Kris posted. What else is there to say, Kris didn't even know the kid very well.
I may seem like a jerk, yes, but the kid who couldn't own up to a responsibility and endangering other peoples lives by 'speeding' who payed the price of his own life isn't?
Yeah, the kid lost his life and I'm sure many people are devastated about it, but it's just irrelavent to post about it without saying any condolensces or questions or what ever.
Thousands of people die a day, and he just happened to be one of them that day. This world has enough stress on it and quite frankly, people need to go. Call me insensative and a 'jerk' all you want, but I'd rather protect our earth and all we know, than some kid.

Hey Guys, sorry about intruding.
But I have to agree with Polaris. The kid was stupid enough to endanger his own life, not to mention other peoples (god knows how many) so it's his own fault, and I don't think he deserves any sympathy.
A friend of mine died from his girlfriend being drunk driving and speeding in her car. He was innocent and it was HIM that died, not her, when it should of been the other way around. She got a few months in a prison and has been partially blinded in one eye. That's no justice, and I see his family every so often and they are still gutted about their loss.
So, in conclusion, the kid must of known the rules and regulations to be able to have a license in the first place, so it's his own fault, and he died from stupidity, and that's the end of that.
Also, I know you may not agree with what Polaris thinks, but she still has a freedom of speech, even if you don't like what she has to say.

OK I'll just say it simply this site isn't the place for this. Seems like there are two different schools of thought on this matter and that's fine but this isn't the place nor the forum for such a debate.

Yay moderator duty.
I agree one hundred percent with Aly.
Polaris, I am going to ask you to keep it to yourself...it is not the time nor the place to have a go at Kris for any reason.
and for your friends Kris, Sorry.
A couple weeks ago my school got word that a kid who graduated last year, Alex Whitney died up in Maine at his college. First they told us that he died in a car accident, but upon further investigation by means of an Iphone going to a news station website we learned that he didn't die in a car crash, but killed himself. Not only did he commit suicide, but he used very strange means. He lite himself on fire and died two days later after being found in the middle of the road from infection. Its a sad story, so my school is going through the same mourning period.
so, again I'm sorry.

Bloody Hell!!! What is with all the fighting and arguments!
I came online to apologise for my absence and say that I will not be around for a bit longer…but I then saw this thread and well to be honest I can see why it has caused controversy. Everyone has different opinions on matters like this and to be honest when I hear about kids speeding and crashing and everything it greats on me because I work in the motorsport industry where safety is a top priority and in the most advanced Formulas the technology that is used is passed on road cars and it is just so annoying that people abuse it in a sense and do stupid things like that! Just makes you wonder where people’s common sense is?!
I also have to agree with SJ that everyone has the freedom of speech, but then to be honest this is not really the topic I expect to see in the General Chat section. I am very sorry for the death of the guy, it is very sad when people die young and I am very sorry for his family and friends…but Kris you said you did not know him so why did you post this on here??? I do not want to seem harsh but if anyone was looking for attention in this thread it was Kris posting it!
I think if anyone else wants to have a go at anyone else and have a little argument about where they morally stand on matters like this do it over pm please!!! I will now lock this thread to stop any more of this going on, please guys we come on here to RP and have fun not get at each others throats! I do not want to see anymore threads like this cause this will get out of hand just like the other one!
