Stretching and yawning pretty loudly, which disturbed a few people in the quiet library, their looks of curiousity when their deep concentration was disturbed were a picture, like waking from a lovely deep sleep or nice dream, which for Vicky would ultimately contain some handsome guys with very little on. She'd usually awaken from such a nightmare sweating and blushing, a lot. As Heidi could bear witness as she shared dorms and was probably often awoken by Vicky's vivid dreams, only she was too nice to tell her probably, except the few gentle reminders of course.
One such dream had woken her that night, a slender man within his suit of gleaming armour, why she dreamed of such things she didn't know. So she'd lacked sleep and was now paying the price, not being able to make the notes she usually wrote so eloquently. Rubbing her eyes and stretching her arms once again Vicky abondened her quill; letting it fall messily upon her work.

Heidi walked down the corridor muttering to herself as she went and getting quite a few strange looks from the people walking past her. She would offer a few a smile and others a over enthusiastic wave. Eventfully she had made her way to the library and pushed open the door and stepped inside quickly pulling an imaginary zip over the mouth to stop herself from muttering anymore. Her head darted around looking for Vicky and Heidi even started jumping up and down trying to see over the seas of students that were some reason in here. It was then she heard a noise, a noise that could only be explained as Vicky’s yawn.
Pushing her way through a group of giggling Gryffindor’s Heidi waved over at her oldest friend and dropt her bag on the table and slid into the chair beside her. With another wave only small this time Heidi smiled and tried to talk. “Mumm mmmm mummm…..” Her eyes grew wide with laughter as she saw the puzzled look on Vicky’s face. Breathing deeply in through her nose Heidi unzipped her mouth. “I was saying I did not expect you to be here this early. But I am glad you did as we got our table.”
Heidi looked fondly down at the desk and the scrawled writing that had been engraved into it. Many of it was only imprint from how hard she presses down with her quill on the parchment but others were purposely done. Every time she looked upon them she could not help but laugh as they simply brought back so many memories of time spent in the library. Heidi Vicky Heidi Vicky smells of dragon dung Japanese soap flowers With a small sigh Heidi pulled out her parchment and lay it over the top of there graphitized table and pulled out her quill trying to think of what subjected she should really work on.

Gasping as the ink from her quill seeped into her hard done work she wafted her arms for no particular reason than panic over the parchment, unless it would make it dry quicker somehow. "Oh sh..shoot," she exclaimed quickly changing her curse when she saw the narrowed eyes of some students turning around. Smiling brightly to them she sighed when they turned around and rolled her eyes pointedly at their backs, sticking her tongue out she left it hanging out as Heidi appeared with her usual smooth entrance. It wasn't the smoke and deafening sound effects like muggle films but it made Vicky laugh out loud, stifling her giggles with a muffling hand she saw her fellow Ravenclaws glare around again, anybody would think they were in a library.
Ignoring their annoyed expressions she agreed happily "well one of us has to get up early to get it, why's it always me though?" She asked with a grin knowing Heidi loved to lie in once in a while, though they were both pretty earlybirds.
Vicky's penetrating eyes followed Heidi's gaze to their lovely artwork on the table. "It's so true," she laughed but then double checked what was written, she wouldn't put it past Heidi to have changed it when she wasn't looking, "oh yeah it is," she qualified breathing in deeply and exaggeratedly coughing and spluttering as she inhaled Heidi's not overly generous perfume.
"Eugh powerful," she teased, "but lovely, is it the essence of Rosethorn one? Or the the overpowering stench of manure with a touch of...err muddiness, ooh no pig?"
Twiddling a strang of hair idly between her fingers she leaned in conspiratorially and whispered, "that guy's looking at you, not the lanky one that cute one further up, Ravenclaw I think, shall I put in a good word for you?" She asked with a beaming grin.

Heidi looked over at Vicky blankly as she mentioned about her perfume, she had no put any on this morning, well part form walk through a smug cloud of substances which the other girls in her dorm had sprayed around. It did not taste very nice when she breathed it in but she never thought about the smell. Pulling part of her robes up towards her nose she took a rather long sniff only to winkle her nose at the smell, that very strong and with it being a mixture of quite a few things it did not smell quite right. Shrugging her shoulders she pulled the book closest to her and flicked the pages in one direction then the other letting the breeze it created blow over her. The corners of her short hair began to blow in the wind and the Hufflepuff could not help but cough as dust flew over her.
“Got to love the smell of these old books. Centuries of dirt and stare air stuck in the spine, the perfect treatment for overpower perfume.”
With a wide grin as Vicky Heidi turned the book over and blew all the dust off the cover all over her friend. It would be hard for Heidi not to have noticed over the years how much Vic prided herself on her appearance and that her outfits were spotless, and although this was done in a playful manor it would annoy her a tad. Happy the book was now the correct colour and now longer white with duct Heidi opened it properly and began to scribble down notes on different uses for sloth brains in potions. Although Heidi being Heidi and silence annoying her more then constant noise when sleeping she started to talk at Vicky although she did not divert her eyes from her book.
“So how is it going with that Ravenclaw guy then…the one you told me about the other day? Has he stopped giving you the eye yet and worked out the hag you are?”
With a slight laugh and a quick glance at her mate Heidi lowered her quill waiting for the answer. She enjoyed laughing at her friend and all her many attempts on relationships. If there was a boy and he have her the right look Vic would be on top of him quicker faster then you could say Expelliarmus, which was the opposite to herself. Heidi liked admiring people from afar and only told a select few about how she truly felt.

Giggling as Heidi took a great big whiff of her own overpowering perfume, which Vicky guessed she hadn't applied herself, as Heidi very rarely did anything overly extravagent with her appearance, except when she wore that bright pink dress once. Naturally that had been a joke yet all the guys, even at the age of seven had still oggled at her. Now that had made Vicky laugh, especially the way Heidi had blushed from the unwanted attention.
Vicky faked looking disgusted but broke into a smile as she pretended to scold her friend. "Eugh. Trust you to prefer mustiness and decay to a lovely perfume to enhance your attraction." Vicky giggled shaking her head in a mock lecturing manner. "You'll have to learn to apply make-up one day," she mimicked her own mother, portraying her kindly voice as more whining and exagerated.
"Oh wait don't tell me I use too much," she could instantly see the retort surfacing from her beloved Heidi, "cause you know I'm pretty much naturally like this, the big jaw and droopy eyes, so I have to apply a tinsy bit, when there could be guys about." She flicked her eyes towards a passing older guy, and smiled belatedly, her cheeks tinging red as he pretended to not notice her, that look was always so plain.
Turning back to Heidi she caught a facefull of dust and immediately began a fit of exaggerated coughing which led to her properly coughing and nearly choking upon the dust. "Woah," she breathed as the dust stopped clogging up her insides. "Dusty." She stated as she scrawled down a few more words in the momentary lapse of silence, broken by the ever curious Heidi.
"Hey," she complained shooting Heidi a dirty glance as her cheeks began to burn. Moving closer in a conspirative fashion she beckoned Heidi to listen then beeped rather loudly into her ear. "That's for calling me a hag," she grinned, "but no," she continued in a hushed whisper after darting a quick scouting glance about the room. "He hasn't, I'm getting worried now, unless I'm sat in his seat or something, but i can't be cause I've always sat as near to the fire as possible, he's started nudging his mates and laughing, it's really off putting, what should I do?" She asked her ever resourceful, trusted friend and confidante.

As Vicky beeped in her ear Heidi let out a yell of pain drawing the attention of many that were sitting around them and even a glare from the librarian Miss Marsh. Placing her hand over her raining ear Heidi could only just make out what her friend was saying, but she could guess what it was. She liked a boy, boy showed some interest, Vic falls in love, boy laughs in Vic’s face. It was the normal pattern and it was always up to dear old Heidi the Hufflepuff to get her out of her pit of despair. Turing to look at Vicky a mischievous grin filled her face, although she tired to cover it was a look of compassion. Placing down her quill Heidi wrapped her arm around Vicky’s shoulder and rested her head against hers.
“Ah Vic the thing you need to do is this. Next time he is sitting in the common room do not go over to your chair, run over sit on his pa wrap your arms around his neck and give him the sloppiest, wettest kiss you can. Then at least you can brag about kissing him and it is his fault not yours as you gave him a big enough hint you liked him.”
Laughing silently to herself as to attract as little attention form the people around them Heidi pulled her arm back and rested it on the table by her book still smiling at what she had suggested. She would love to see Vicky do that, and if she did not know Heidi was joking she might of well actually done it. Herself, Heidi would never act so irrationally, in fact she never really told anyone how she felt. Naturally she would pass the odd comment on if someone walked past and they were rather good looking, but otherwise her mouth remained zipped.

The smile that was normal spread across Harrison’s perfect features was surprisingly enough not present. This was mainly due to the fact that he was walking down the long corridor towards the library. In his hand was a small slip of parchment from Professor Hubbles who had ordered him to do some extra work as he was already behind on homework, and although Harrison was normally one to stand up and do what he liked, he knew that getting into trouble this early on in the year was a mistake only a Slytherin would make.
So with a bag full of book he pushed open the heavy doors of the library only to be greeted by the low mumble of noise and the smell of old books. Blowing his long blond fringe out of his eyes he was able to get a better view of the room and the people in it. He was surprised to see it so full, although he was not surprised to see the majority of robe colours were blue and yellow.
Feeling slightly out of place Harrison had to make an effort to keep his head held high and make it look like he was used to this situation. But as he got further into the library it slowly dawned on him that all the tables had been taken up and it would mean he would have to share. If he went to a table full of boys he knew he would not concentrate on his work but the same would go if he sat at a table full of girls, his eyes really would move off the pages then.
Puffing out his cheeks as his mind spun around he saw a spare chair at a table where two girls were sitting, and they seemed so caught up in their own conversation that they would not notice him. With a small nod of his head as a sign that he had agreed to this he headed straight over to the empty chair, dropping his bag on the floor and gently sliding into the chair.
“Morning ladies.”
It would have been rude not to greet them and it also gave Harrison a chance to be able to get a close look at them both. A confident smile filled his face as they both slowly raised their gaze to meet him. Harrison suddenly felt rather pleased he picked this table, he did not like working anyway.

As Heidi began dispensing her amazing advice Vicky nodded her head in agreement; until the actual words sunk in, "what?" she cried but being in a library even a slightly raised voice attracted attention so scowls came there way yet again, lowering her voice Vicky added, "I don't fancy him Heidi, he keeps staring at me, it's really off putting, I can't even read in the common room now, laughing and pointing all the while, anyone would think I had a huge nose or something, but I don't do I?" She demanded with a grin.
"I mean he's not bad looking or anything, he just doesn't smile in a nice way, it's more a leering look, and he scowls constantly like a..." Vicky's voice cut off as a handsome hunk walked in the library, mouth clamping shut to stop it from hanging open she quickly made it look as if she were even deeper conversation with Heidi, don't make him sit here, don't make him sit here she thought furiously as her heart pumped, he's sat here; yes.
"Unlike him," she whispered with a giggle to make him uncomfortable, raising her voice slightly she continued locking her radiant eyes with his, "he's lovely, heart warming eyes, a broad chest, slouching shoulders though, nice wavy hair is good. The smile is far to confidant though, do you think we've knocked him down a peg or two?" She asked Heidi eyes flashing dangerously; flirtatiously at him. Vicky was already enraptured, as Heidi would tell anyone Vicky could fall for a lad incredibly easily; and then came the flirting...

The girls seemed to be in deep conversation, well one of the girls seemed to be doing all the talking while the other one listened on. Meting the Ravenclaws gaze Harrison could not help but give a rather smug smile. He had seen that look a lot in his life, the far off gaze, the small smile that flicks across their faces. It gave him some form of satisfaction.
But not wanting to hog all the attention seeing as he had entered the library to work Harrison bet down towards his bag and pulled out his book and quill. Although he could not help but listen into the girls conversation, the Ravenclaw seemed to be talking a lot louder then before so naturally Harrison could not help but over hear. After placing the books on the table in front of him Harrison leaned over towards them with a wide grin on his face.
“Who is the unlucky sod that you two re talking about? As by the sound of it he does not stand much of a chance, a boy with slouching shoulders is never good. They need to hold their chest and shoulders high with pride and confidence.”
Did he know what he was going on about? No. Was he having fun? Yes. Harrison loved doing things like this particularly around girls such as these. It was clearly they likes to gossip about what was happening in their lives and common rooms and he felt like he could add a little bit of spice to it all. Gently flicking his fringe out of his eyes Harrison sat back in his chair and looked from one to the other. They were both very attractive girl, the Ravenclaw looked like she cared more about her beauty and had more confidence in it then the Hufflepuff. But to him they they were both nice to look at, and was rather pleased he had sat at this table.

So it seemed this lad was no newbie to the world of flirtation, whereas most boys would have jumped to defend their honour, or rathermore their inflated egos, he had done it in style.
Eyebrow arching as he butted into the conversation inside Vicky laughed histerically and Heidi would notice the tell tale mischiveous twinkle in her eye,but on the outside she acted calmly and looked him up and down with a fleeting grin.
"No he doesn't stand much chance at all, in fact he should realise he's in a low league really." Vicky said knowing she sounded harsh to an onlooker but believing this lad knew the rules of the game; he was the hunter and she the prey, but she wouldn't be ensnared easily, and besides she prefered to call herself the prize, which wasn't won easily by any means.
"But sticking your chest out too much makes you look like a strutting peacock doesn't it Heidi?" She asked her friend with a smirk. "It's a very fine line that boys tread." She stated calmly flirtatiously lumping him in the category of boys...for now.
