The days tolled by slowly. Maybe it was just her, but she couldn't seem to find Stacey or Ashton or Ian anywhere. With no one to hang out with or keep her entertained, her curiousity ran amok. She was usually quiet with people she didn't know, but soon enough that didn't matter, and she was bouncing off the walls to get the pent up energy out. Tired of being cooped up in the common room, the Ravenclaw had abandoned her studies to go chill in the library, hoping to run in to someone familiar or maybe someone she didn't know. It was better than being stuck up in that stuffy tower, that was still cozy and nice when there was snow out there. Ah yes, snow. December. Most people hated it but Katya preferred the cold, having lived within that temperature up until she left Russia for Hogwarts. So on a day like this she was reminded of home.
She should be outside enjoying the weather before spring, well, sprung itself upon her. But it was a bit too chilly today, so might as well spend it nice and warm inside.
Peeking her head through the library doors, Katya shuffled inside, a little calmer after the run down here. After letting out some steam she was back to her usual self, unless of course she was around her friends. Then she'd still be outgoing and humorous. Seeing as she wasn't though, Kitty was collected and cool as she hopped on to a spare table, crossing her legs and popping open a random book titled How Many Bones You Could Possibly Break While Being Crushed By A Pelican, by I.M Huert. Flipping through it, bored already, she swept her eyes around the room, people watching in silence. Some were studying, some whispering to each other, even a few kissing. How lucky they were.

Akihiro smiled to himself as he walked into the library, ah...he was finally where he belonged. Except for class of course. The grin grew wider as Aki took in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the library. The sound of scratching quills, and low mumuring voices. The smell of dust that hung in the air, and best of all, the sight of row after row of books. Big books, little books, medium books. Books on Runes, books on Astronomy, books on Magical History, every book you could possibly want to read was all right here, within arms grasp.
Aki wandered through the tables, chairs, and students, looking for a place to sit. Finally he saw a girl sitting at a table by herself. Akihiro smiled, she looked nice enough, and she was a fellow Ravenclaw, maybe this was a chance to make a new friend. Walking over, he nervously cleared his throat and said, "Hello. Do you mind if I sit with you?" He blushed, a bit embarrased, knowing that his Japanese accent was very noticeable. He smiled shyly as he waited for a response.

"Hello. Do you mind if I sit with you?" Came a voice from nearby, as Katya twisted her head around to find the source. Didn't take her long as her eyes landed on a cute Japanese boy, smiling rather shyly at her. His voice.. Like hers would be if she had one, was accented. Only hers would be Russian, but still, the accent was present. However embarrassed he might have been about it, he shouldn't be - it was lovely, actually. It made him unique. Nothing to be ashamed about. With this in mind, the fellow Ravenclaw nodded and smiled comfortingly, patting the edge of the chair close by. Unless he wanted to pop a squat on the table beside her, then he could just hop right up.
Making sure he was looking at her, she pointed to herself, mouthing the word, ' Kitty. ' before turning her finger in his direction. The gesture tended to commonly be known as the international 'whats your name?' signal, so he'd probably understand. Really though, she was so thankful he was a fellow 'Claw. Too many Slytherin run-ins these days, not enough friendly faces. Speaking of which, this boy seemed really, really new. She didn't remember his face at all, and she had the sharpest memory around. Most likely he was a recent transfer from Japan, that was the best bet. Unless he preferred to retain his beautiful accent. ' So are you new here? ' She mouthed to him, eager for conversation as a smile graced her expression.

Akihiro smiled as the girl silently introduced herself, "Kitty? That's a nice name." He noticed her pointing at him, and realized she was asking his name, "Akihiro Tanaka. I also go by Aki, Tanaka, and Akinaka, a combination of my first and last names."
He smiled shyly when she asked if he was new, "Yes, I just came from Tokyo,Japan...so... I don't know English very well." He sat down across from her, "You like to read, yes?"
((blegh..))

Thats a nice name. He said, and she smiled and mouthed, ' Thank you, Akinaka. And do not worry about the English speaking, you will pick it up eventually. I have troubles with it too some of the time, I came from Russia. ' Whew! Mouthful! After he sat down and asked the question, Katya didn't even have to think on it a second before replying with, ' I do. But not as much as most other Ravenclaws, I suppose. ' She preferred being outside in the gardens rather than staying in the library with her nose in a book. ' How do you like it here? ' It wasn't that long ago when people were asking here these questions themselves, when she started coming out of her shell a little. Like she was doing now, they asked her how her homeland was. What it was like, if it was nice there..
He had probably been bombarded with stuff like that, right? Well at least one more question couldn't hurt. Fiddling with her fingers, Katya looked back up at him, ice blue eyes wide with wonder.

Aki laughed softly as she called him his nickname of Akinaka. "I love reading, I honestly don't think I could suvive without books!" He smiled shyly, "Japan is alot different, Tokyo is a very large city, so unless you've lived there your whole life, it can be very easy to get lost. I went to a private boarding school in Kobe,Japan. The Japanese...are... very into respect, honor, and integrity. The school was very strict, but it was also one of the best in the country." He blushed brightly, he'd never said that much before! But somehow, he felt very comfortable around Kitty, plus she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.
He looked down at the table, fingers tracing the scratches made by students from earlier years, "Where are you from?" he asked, looking back up.

Listening patiently, it wasn't hard for Katya to notice the excitement and warmth in his voice when he talked about Japan. He must really love it there. Hopefully he would come to see this place like that, or close to it. Hogwarts was her second home, she appreciated it alot. ' Russia. ' She mouthed with a small smile, remembering back to the small village in which she was born and raised. She could sing back then. Knowing this to be true for a long time now, the 'Claw accepted it, eyes still a little downcast at the fact. She was foolish to have fallen in, even though she was just a kid when it happened.
Really not wanting to talk about it though, she continued to mouth about her home, ' It was hard living there, and the food was nyet very good, but it was pretty. It was home. ' Katya finished, resting her hands on her knees. ' ..I mean not. ' She added quickly, forgetting that nyet was Russian and he probably couldn't understand it without taking a look at the context. A little bashful at this, she kept going, still quiet in her ramblings, ' How do you like it here? Have the Slytherins give you trouble? ' Accent plus garbled english present, and accounted for. If only she could speak truly so he could hear it.

Aki shook his head, "No, they don't. I'm pretty much one of their many punching bags." he smiled shyly, "I imagine they don't treat you too well either."
