Alessa turned a page of the huge book and sighed. The book was so heavy that it was hard to pick up. It was worse that it was from a high shelf too. She read a few lines of the next page but soon became restless. History of magic could be quite boring at times. She looked out from the book and saw a person looking at her from opposite the table.

Jeremy had decided that he needed to start a new novel. It had been ages since he had read a good one, and had since given up on finding one. Hogwarts did not have a good selection of fantasy novels. He couldn't wait for the next Hogsmeade visit. Maybe then he could find a good book.
However, after scanning the selves for over an hour, Jeremy had pulled out the Biography of Quintin Quagmir. His life was almost so unbelievable it was like a fantasy novel. Jeremy had gotten into the book, sitting at a table in the library. However, the story began to sway. There was a thirty year span where nothing happen to the guy. Jeremy thought that the author could have made something up to fill the space. Then he realized it was a biography and lowered the book from his gaze.
A girl caught his eye. She was sitting right in front of him, facing him from the table next to him. She looked defeated. It was obvious that she had been studying. A large book sat in front of her. The girl looked very mysterious, or it could just be the dark makeup accentuating her bright blue eyes. Jeremy sighed and got up. He walked over to the girl and looked at the book, turning it toward him. "He dies." Jeremy said, meaning the man she was reading about. Like most history, the interesting ones died. "Bored?" he asked her.

Erys Grace happily strode the library, not a bookworm in the least yet content surrounded by so many interesting novels. There was always the dull banana in the bunch though, and many of these dusty old things didn't tickle her fancy. So instead of studying and the like, she continued to roam in cat form, appearing to be an exotically-spotted bengal house cat and nothing more.
For a while now, the Slytherin had watched a Hufflepuffer struggle with the weight of a very large book. Mrowling with amusement, the cat stretched, vivid green eyes fixated on her while she tried vainly to study. Distracted by the movement of a seemingly younger - yet quite attractive - Ravenclaw, Erys hm'd, approaching and hopping gracefully on to the table top. The moment he said 'he dies' she placed a paw on a picture of the dead man, then imitated the gesture by sliding the paw across her throat. Eyes flashing, she gave a catlike chuckle, flicking her tail and staring indifferently at the piece of literature. Boring.
Now, she'd change back eventually, if not to stir up some interest in this lifeless place. Always having to be quiet was no fun. Thinking this, Erys stared up into the boys eyes, wondering if she should get cat hair all over his clothes. Tsk, that wouldn't be nice! No, she would go for the girl. Only.. She didn't shed. Now that was no fun.

Alessa looked up when the person said 'he dies'. "Your joking? Ehh, It's a boring book anyway" she smiled after being slightly disappointed. "You know, it's not logical making a book this big to be this boring" she joked. "So, Ravenclaw, What's your name?" She smiled closing the book shut not noticing the cat and almost trapping it's paw. She looked at the guy infront of her, he was pretty cute, he had beautiful eyes. She thought he should be a model, she just hoped he wasn't an ignorant Ravenclaw like the rest of them seem to have portrayed themself as; snooty stuck up Einstein's. Meanwhile, she got up from the table and picked up the gigantic proportioned book and struggled with it, slightly waddling with it to the huge gap in the bookshelf. She breathed for a moment, getting herself ready to use a lot of energy, and boosted it up into it's slot. She slid it into place and dusted of her hands on one another, making her way back to the chair she once sat.

Jac had been waiting for a chance to go to the library and had chosen that particular day to do it. She was simply going to relax, take things easy for a little while, before getting into the research she had to do if she ever expected to pass Potions with not going to classes and all. So, hair her bright autumn colours as usual, Jac strode into the library and chose a book immediately.
She walked through the large room, looking at all the tables and seeing who all was around. No one she knew was there so she decided to go for new people, a Huff and a Claw sitting together at one table. An overly large book was on the table when the Huff stood up and took another enormous book from the shelf. Jac smiled to herself and thought how good it was to have a thin, small book to read instead of something that was more exercise then informative.
After the Puff sat, Jac skidded into the chair next to her and said, grinning, "ya must be right bored out of your mind to be going fir books like that. Or you're a masochist." Jac chuckled and and shrugged, "not that I've got anything against masochism but I just think it's a little antiproductive is all. You're just bored right?" She grinned at the girl next to her before saying, "name's Jac. Jac Biggerstall." She looked to the Claw boy and gave him a wink.
There was a cat on the table, staring intently at the girl Puff. Jac looked at it for a moment, before chuckling. She had seem the cat about while she was on the prowl in the corridors herself. She gave the animagus a wink also though she didn't know who it was.

Jeremy looked at the book he had been reading. He picked it up and put it in front of the girl. "If you want something good to read, read this. Only to page one-hundred-and-sixteen, however. It gets just as bored as that." he pointed to the huge book and made a face.
A cat jumped up onto the table. Jeremy had a cat of his own, so it didn't frighten him. He was used to Kalina jumping up unexpected on his bed. She was very over protective of him, sometimes he thought she might be a person. The cat looked normal enough, until it indicated the man in the book and obviously ran her paw across her throat indicating death. Jeremy looked at the cat, and smiled. It wasn't any ordinary cat, but he'd let whoever it was have their fun.
The Hufflepuff responded. She was very nice, and upbeat, just as a Hufflepuff should be. "Jeremy Wheller." He responded with a smile. "And you are?"
By then, they had more company. An older girl had come and sit with them She was carrying a small book, obviously a better choice than the Hufflepuff. He asked with a smile. She answered. "Jeremy. Former masochist. I've moved on." He said, indicating the smaller book he had been reading, chuckling at the wink she had given him.
The Hufflepuff girl got up with the book in hand. "Do you want help wi..." But she was already halfway to the book shelves. Jeremy watched her heave the book onto the shelf and then return. "Girls..." He said to Jac, then realizing she was a girl, he gave her a wide smile.
Noticing the cat was still there, "Did you lose a cat?" he said, going along with the animagius. whoever it was.

When the Claw answered, Jac looked at him, a broad smile on her face, and she nodded with approval at his book. "Ah," she said, "I see. That's good to here. Otherwise I might have to report you to the new healer, Nish, and get you checked into St Mungo's." She chuckled slightly, stretching an arm out and pressing her check against her fist. Jac's other hand held her small book and she rested that on the table too.
"Pleasure not having to report you, Jeremy," she said slowly, watching the cat. It was a curious creature and Jac was always fascinated by curious things, just like her brother. The boy was talking to the Puff and Jac looked at her, a skew smile coming to her face at the funny sight of the over grown book weighing the girl down.
Jac laughed loudly at Jeremy's words ... word. "Oh, sure," she said, "and guys don't ever do silly things." She chuckled and rolled her eyes to the Puff. "Boys!" she chuckled in the same devil-may-care tone Jeremy used. "Tis not mine," she said, "and I don't think he ... she ... belongs to anyone." She stretched her gaze to see the cat again and took a finger to it's chin, gave it a little scratch.

Hissing as the stupid Hufflepuff girl nearly squished her paw within the heavy book, the bengal sneered, but you couldn't blame her. Animal cruelty alert, people! On the other hand.. Erys Grace didn't mind the touch of the Gryffindor, just this once, for she had some cat in her and kitties for the most part liked being petted and scratched. Knowing full well two out of the three noticed the odd air about her, the Slytherin pouted inwardly, disappointed the game was over so early. Closing her eyes, she transformed into her beautiful, talented self, smiling contentedly at the trio. "Thanks for the scratch, Red." Meaning, Jac. The - usually - red-haired one. "Erys Grace." Sitting in the center of the table, now cross-legged, the prefect rested her palms on her knees, smiling at the boy and for now ignoring the hufflepuffer completely. "Hello." After all, the girl nearly smushed her poor little paw. Tsk tsk.
Tapping her long, sharp fingernails against the table for a moment, the animagus hummed, wondering why she of all people would interact with.. People of other houses. A while back, you wouldn't have caught her dead with them. Maybe since what happened a few months ago, something changed. Maybe. They could be friends. Maybe, being the operative word here.

Alessa noticed the cat change into a Slytherin girl, she was a little shocked, but she smiled at her anyway. She gave a slight wave to the gryffindor who was now at the table too, and a quick "hello" before sitting back down. She looked over to the Ravenclaw and smiled at his choice of book he had for her. "Thanks, I'm Alessa Tassarosso by the way" she continued to say before she noticed she was being blatantely ignored by the slytherin. She realised she's almost caught her paw. "Oh, I'm sorry about that, I didn't notice your erm- well...paw in the book" she apologised, slightly blushing. She shuffled in her seat a little awkwardly.

The cat gave a wave of its tail, as it enjoyed the scratch. Jeremy looked at it, and before his eyes, the cat began to transform back into a human. Jeremy wasn't really all that surprised, he had known all along. What kind of cat indicates death by slitting its throat? Common sense.
"I believe its a girl." Jeremy said to Jac, answer her question. He smirked at the girl. "Nice trick." He said after the girl had greeted him. "Jeremy Wheller." He said, even though he was sure she hadn't missed the first introduction. He looked at her, she was obviously a Slytherin, and not just any Slytherin, a Prefect badge was pinned neatly on her robes. He smirked again and looked at Jac.
The Hufflepuff had returned to the table. She was making apologies to the Slytherin. "Oh, did she hurt your paw?" Jeremy said. The Slytherin seemed to be ignoring the Hufflepuff. Obviously the feline animagus had taken offense, it had been an accident after all.
"Well, it seems to me that we have a meeting of the houses." He said to the group. The Ravenclaw looked at the Gryffindor, the Hufflepuff, and the Slytherin who was still perched in the middle of the table.

Alessa gave a slight grin and nodded at what Jeremy had just said about the houses. "Who would of thought?" she giggled a little, before quieting herself. "I've got to go now, but is it okay if I borrow your book? As soon as i'm done i'll bring it back, I promise!" She protested. "Only until page one hundred and sixteen right?" she remembered giving him a grin and flicking her long black hair.

Jac jumped a little when the large book the Hufflepuff was bring to the table thumped down. She smiled up at the Puff when she introduced herself. She guessed she had heard her introduce herself and didn't feel in necessary to do it again. "Lovely to meet you, Ales," Jac said, grinning at her. It was always lovely meeting new people.
The cat moved under her hand and Jac turned to look at the ... Slytherin? Jac smiled at Erys and patted her on the leg. "Your welcome." Her hair went brighter at the nickname she so often heard. Many thought it was an appropriate and in a way it was but Jac always thought that it was inconstantly applicable because the colour changed so often.
When Jeremy pointed out that there was one from each house, Jac looked around at the group. "Hey," she chortled, "would you look at that." She laughed but then noticed Erys was ignoring the Puff and that the Puff seemed to be taking offense. Jac give Erys a wink before looking at Alessa. "Don't mind her," she said, "she's just a little grumpy after the transformation." She knew that her sore hand would be the real reason but teasing the Slytherin jokingly was always fun.

Alessa smiled at the Gryffindor. "I know, I try and see the best in everyone" she answered. "Do you have any classes now?" she asked. Alessa had potions in fifteen minutes. "I have potions soon, and wondered if you wanted to walk and talk?" she proclaimed, as she walked over to the Gryffindor so as the table wasn't inbetween their conversation.

Jac shifted her gaze to the high sealing, obviously thinking about what she had next. "Let's see ..." she said slowly, leaning her elbow on the table. She counted on her fingers as she spoke "... I had Transfiguration first thing, then it was ... um ..." Jac wasn't at her best that day and looked to Erys for help. "Didn't I have a class with you after that?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.
Jac could have checked but she was certain she had a free now so all her things, besides the small book she had brought with her, were in her trunk. Jac frowned and made a 'hmm' sound in her throat, still thinking. She shrugged and looked back to the Puff. "I'd love to walk you," Jac said happily, sitting taller and shifting from side to side in her seat, "I'm thinking I have a free now so wondering about'll be the aim of the game."

"My hand is fine." Erys replied curtly, tilting her head to the side and smiling pleasantly. Why, it was faker than.. Something that was really fake. Yeah! Anyways, apology accepted. You couldn't blame her for being this way. After all, severe prejudices did that to people. Changed them. Though for most of her life she'd been like this, so the change in scenery made no difference.
Allowing that comment from "Red", Erys gave a small smile, for real this time. Despite her being her mortal enemy or something (house-wise, of course) the metamorph was a really fun person to hang with. Getting in trouble with her was even more inviting. Once Jac asked the question, the Slytherin hmm'd, "I think so. I cant quite remember, I have alot of classes." Transfiguration? Care of Magical Creatures? "Was it dark arts?" She wondered, humming and hawing to herself afterwards. Funny, how she didn't know. Most of the time Erys paid attention to whoever did something stupid, or whoever was a Slytherin. Since Jac hardly did the first (unless it was intentional for the laughs) and wasn't in her house, she didn't speak with her much. The animagus was very observant, however, thus being able to tell much of what she was like.
Does this mean I have to go? Erys thought to herself, licking her lips. Stay with cute boy, or go with girly friends? Stay with cute boy, or go with girly friends? Decisions, decisions.
