Alexis-Mai hadnt been here that long if she was honest with herself, she had been here less time than that of her brother and was still nerved by the fact everyone seemed to call him Mark. Can they not use his real name, after all that is what names were given to people. In all honesty, it completly annoyed Alexis-Mai when someone called her Alex. It made her feel common and abused and definatly made her skin crawl. She did not understand why Markeil thought it was good to have people call him Mark, and Maxi, well Maxi was just a common idiot anyway, she should not have expected less really when it came down to him.
She had been here little over a week and already the place seemed full of muggleborns and halfbloods. Not to mention, she had heard about the halfbreeds they were allowing in here too. Utterly unbelieveable. Markeil best not be mingling with these halfbreeds or mother shall know of it she thought as she placed her bag on a table in the library. She had always been one for studying, though she thought little of it at this moment in time. She did not much like it here in this new place and would have much preferred to be with her friends.
Dear Mother, Father & Dyanneabelle.
I dont suppose Markeil has written to you yet, he seems overly busy as usual trying to make everyone else laugh at his pathetic little jokes. I do not understand why he would spend so much time and effort on something that would not benefit him in the future. I have yet to see Maxi, I dont know where he is or what he's doing, but I suppose he is spending time with that boyfriend of his on the latter. That is what Markeil told me anyway. I thought I should let you know that I have been sorted into Slytherin, apparently it is the only house that does not allow muggleborns, but everyone seems still happy to speak and mix with them. Me, Personally, I wouldnt..
Your Loving Daughter & Sister Alexis-Mai
Alexis put her quill back down and re-read the letter to think if she had missed anything. She didnt think Mark had written to their parents, or their younger sister just yet and to be honest, she didnt think he would until he wanted something. She didnt understand her brother sometimes, and more often than not, she didnt like him.

Mark was roaming around the corridors once more with absolutley nothing to do. He hated new terms they always bored him into the next oblivion and he knew Maxi wouldnt be joining them for a good few weeks yet so basically, fun was off the cards. Especially with Mark's sister showing up on the scene she was bound to write back to the fort with things he had done, though why it was any of their business he didnt know.
He knew his sister was a study worm but didnt think she would be in the library so early on in the term, after all, what would she have to study up on? Oh yeah, manners. He knew Alexis-Mai's morals were high and he knew she didnt like Maxi much after he had told them all he was gay, he didnt suppose she would like Ashton either, but Ashton had less chance of her approval than Maxi did, at least Maxi was a pureblood. Mark just didnt know why this girl's morals were so high, it was like she expected everyone to be like her, well she probably did.
Walking into the library and scooting around a bookshelf, he saw the familiar blonde head of his sister pouring over what looked to be like a letter. "Well well well" Mark said in a patronising voice as he reached the table and sat down opposite her, "If it isnt Alexis-Mai, my little sister behaving herself?" he asked as his eyes fell down to the letter, "Telling tales again are we?"

She could mind her own business and wish with all her heart sometimes that Mark would not find her, and here was another reason she had wanted to stay at Beaubaxtons, but no, her mother thought it would do them good to be in the same school, even Dyanneabelle would be coming here next term to start her magical education. At least Dyanneabelle has morals, unlike Markeil... Still i suppose it would be good to have the whole Alméida family in one place she thought, she just hoped Markeil hadnt rubbed off too much on their younger sibling.
"Hello Markeil, causing havok again are you?" she asked as her blue eyes snapped on his. You wouldnt believe these two were actually quite close, all they ever do is argue and pick at one another. "It is not me you need to be asking who's behaving, but then again, i do not suppose you are" she stood up and went to the bookshelf behind Markeil and cycled through the different texts, her brothers final question reached her.
"You know as well as i do mother and father like to be informed about what we are doing" she spoke in a soft voice, but it was still accusing, "And i do not suppose you have bothered to pick up your quill to do anything else but write on tables, seriously Markeil, do you not have anything better to do with your time?"

"You know me sis" He said with a shrug, "I live for causing havok" he didnt much care if she liked the games he played, or what he did with his time, after all it was his time and he would do with his time what he liked. "Must be a right downer for you, having to be around all those that are unpure"
Mark's head spun as his sister walked past him to the bookshelves behind him, she really had no consideration for anyone other than herself and completly ated being surrounded by those that werent the same as her. Well she will definatly hate Girty then, when should I tell her she's a werewolf? Oh yeah right, never he thought to himself. "Alexis-Mai I do behave, just in a different way to you"
"Yeah well mum and dad are both nosey buggers" he said with a shrug on his shoulders, he really didnt see Alex's problem, "I do not write on tables! And i was going to write when i had something worth saying, what have you managed to say?" he asked pulling the letter forward. "Oh yeah right, Mark hasnt written, blah blah blah, his jokes are pathetic... Well i knew you thought that. What have you got against Max all of a sudden, you used to fancy the pants off him! Oh and look... Telling mum about all the impurities! Oh for godsa sake Alex! The world is full of them, get over it"

"Yes well unfortunalty for the both of us we do seem to be stranded within each others lives" though she gave a small grunt of dissaproval when he mentioned he lived for havok. Alexis kept pondering over the different books, not really listening to Mark only catching a few words he said, "Well it doesnt come as much of a surprise, this place is clearly downrun, otherwise such things like that would never be allowed. Durmstrang did not allow it, and neither did Beauxbatons, it is only Hogwarts that allows such riff raff"
Alexis-Mai and Markeil did have their disagreements, but she knew he would still be there for her when she needed him, finally finding a book that seemed worthwhile, titled Halfbreeds and how to Spot them in Human Form she opened the book to the first chapter on Werewolves. "You do not behave Markeil, how many times has mother had complaints off your principle when you were at Durmstrang, Mark has done this, he's done that" She looked up from her book adding, "You were nearly thrown out and you wand was nearly snapped, you would not have been much more use than a squib if that would have happened"
"They are not nosey! They just like to be informed there is a difference, though i dont suppose you know that" Alexis shrugged and pointed to a corner of the table clearly scrawled in both Marks and Maxi's writing:
Mark Alméida & Maxi Hennerdale Destroyers of School Property
"Yeah you dont write on tables, do you?" Alexis shrugged as he read her letter, she wasnt bothered that he knew she was writing about him, in fact she found it funny, "Well your jokes are pathetic and you havnt written and the only time you would write would be when you want something" She looked back down at the book, "What changed with Maxi was the fact he was gay and it is just plain wierd. It is not normal, and the world would not be full of impurities if people stopped trying to get rid of those that sort the pure from the unpure!"

"Yeah well i popped out of mum first so im placing the blame on you squirt" Mark said childishly and folded his arms, when Alexis was in a good mood she was a right laugh to be around, but when she was in a bad mood, well not even Mark could tolerate being around her, and for some reason, it was usually Mark that put his sister in such moods. "What are you talking abour Alex? Hogwarts is a great school, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons prided themselves on their purity levels and yet Hogwarts, even letting those less than pure in, still outranked them, thats got to prove for something"
"Well to be frank sis, I would prefer to be a squib than to live a funless life with such malice as you are doing" He spoke sternly looking at his sister, "You cant honestly say you enjoy holding grudges against people just because your mother despises them so much, dont you have a mind of your own these days?"
"Alright! So I did write on a table. A table, not two! One!" He said looking down at the imprint on the table and laughing silently to himself as he thought of the time he and Max had done that and were nearly caught too. Though he was sure his sister would not approve of his tale.
"I dont write only when i want something" He said, lowering his head because he knew what she was saying was true. Mark had only written to his folks each time he had run out of money so they could send him some more. "So just because Mr. Hennerdale is gay you no longer value his friendship? Is that what your saying Alexis-Mai?" He asked, pushing back his chair and standing up, his hands clenched in fists and leaned heavily on the table, "You need to grow up, It shouldnt matter the blood lining of the people! Its whats inside that counts!"

"Oh yes point the blame at me as usual" She snapped slamming the book shut with a loud thud, "It is what you are best at anyway" She picked up the book and realised she hadnt actually taken in a single word that she had read, this, she put down to her brothers disturbance. "That counts for nothing, apart from the fact out society is being over run by mongrels"
"At least I have morals Mark" she spoke once more looking at him, in all their family, Mark was the one who didnt have a sense of morale, he would quite happily sit in a field playing frutball or football or whatever it was called with a bunch of muggle boys. "I am happy the way I am, just because you are not does not mean you can push your opinions onto someone else, especially someone who does not want them"
"You have still defaced other peoples property and im sure mother would send you a nice howler for that, you know how much she prizes perfect furnature" Alexis gave off a smirk, "Not like us you know" She sighed, "You are nothing like us, you once were, you once had your head screwed on right, then you met that Maxi and everything for you went downhill"
"Yes you do! Its always, can i have more money or, i need new robes or, whats the christmas presents!" she stood up and put the book back on the shelf, "You could at least make the effort to see how your younger sister is doing, she misses you something awful when you are not there, though heavens knows why"
"I did not value that boys friendship in the first place, he was nothing more of something nice to look at once in a while, though his sexual preferance i must say disgusted me somewhat dreadful, i can not believe you can still be his friend when only last year he told you he fancied you!" Alexis had promised Mark she would never bring this up because Mark hadnt wanted Maxi to know that she knew, "How would his new boyfriend feel, knowing his boyfriend fancies his own best friend? You really think he would trust you with Maxi after that?"
"Bloodlines matter, blood is thicker than anything"

"Come on Lexi! You've pointed the finger at me plenty of times in the past too! Its not like its always been one sided here" Mark tried to argue back but knew it was a pitiful argument and knew when his sisters temper flew, it was probably better to duck out of the way or try and sweet talk her. Though sweet talkin Alexis was like trying to get Voldemort with a muggle woman. Impossible.
Mark looked hurt when she implied he didnt have morals these days, he did, but his were so different from Alexis's. Some people just couldnt be swayed and he knew Lexi wasnt one that could be. "I am happy Alexis" he said simply, "I am happy because i dont have to worry what people think about me, i dont have to be high and mighty. You can carry on the family traditions if you want, go ahead with these pre-arranged marriages, but me personally. I would prefer to find my own person and marry them out of love, not because i was told to"
"Well im sure mother wont know, unless you plan on telling her of course" Shrugging, he knew his sister probably would. She loved making Mark's life hell it was like what she lived for. "No, it wasnt after i met Max, Lex, I changed my opinion on things long before i went to Durmstrang it was just you was so caught up in yourself you didnt notice"
"Dyan will be fine without me, it would seem as though your poisioning her mind anyway so why even bother?" Mark stood up and followed his sister around to the shelves she was stood at, "You know what they say about Slytherins right? Bad to the core? Evil... Not worth bothering with. Is that how you want people to see you?"
"That was in the past between me and Maxi" His voice was cold like the marble stone beneath their feet. Mark had long since tried to forget about Maxi saying those words and to be honest, he knew now, as soon as Max saw Alexis, he would remember too. "Ashton has nothing to worry about. There is nothing between me and Maxi. For gods sake Alexis im straight!"
