Ashton sighed as he lay his head on the table. He had come to the library to try and clear his mind, instead, he was more confused than ever. So many things had changed since last term, Mark had arrived, and Ash always felt left out when it was him, Maxi, and Mark. Sure he was Maxi's boyfriend, but Maxi and Mark had been friends for years, and they had so much in common, memories, they told stories of past pranks, they had inside jokes. Ash was glad that Max had been reunited with his best friend, but he still couldn't help feeling like a third wheel. Maxi had changed as well, ever since he became a Prefect he never wanted to do the fun stuff anymore. Like sneaking out after curfew, terrorizing the first years, okay so maybe that was a little mean, but hey, it was still fun! He knew that as a prefect Maxi had certain duties, but did he have to take them so seriously. Ash barely recognized Max these days. Hell, he barely recognized himself these days! Fifteen years of living with an abusive father had made him shy, wary, and distrustful of those he didn't know. But it felt like no one understood, no one understood the fear, the pain. Tears welled up in Ashton's sapphire eyes, he angrily wiped them away, but they kept coming. He sat there, staring off into the distance, tears making their way down his face. Why did everything have to change?

Naruto walked into the library with a sigh. She had lost Ramen again. She was not quite sure where her beloved friend had gone and she was getting quite lonely without her precious boggart by her side. He had been a constant in her life since her mother found her. She looked around for an empty table but instead spotted a rather sad looking young man and frowned. Naruto had a small debate with herself before deciding to brave the waters and find out what was troubling him so. She walked over the thought of retreat still nagging at the back of her mind. She reached the table and took a breath to calm her nerves a bit. She never usually approached anyone.
"Hello. I'm Naruto Greene. Would you mind if I sat with you?" She asked him gently and a bit uncertainly.

Ash's head snapped up at the voice. He smiled sadly, wiping a tear away from his eye. "Sure, go ahead." he said softly. Ash sighed and looked around the library.

Naruto gave a relieved smile. 'So far, so good.' She thought. She sat down at the table with him and gave him the kindest smile she could, she did not have much practice smiling though so it was a little lopsided.
"If you don't mind me asking is there anything I can do for you?" She asked gently hoping not to offend or seem nosy.

Naruto smiled a little more glad that she had not been told to go away yet.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. I would let you meet my boggart Ramen but he seems to have disappeared and I can't find him anywhere...It's a bit lonely without him." Naruto sighed sadly.

Ash's eyes widened in surprise. "You have a pet boggart? But aren't they supposed to turn themselves into the thing you fear the most?" Ash grinned, "Oh well. I'm a never-ending barrell of quirks myself, so if having a boggart for a best friend, works fot you, hey, who am I to judge you?"

Naruto grinned at him quite happy.
"He does turn into my worst fear, but because of that I'm not really afraid anymore. Eventually we just became constant companions and he's been my best friend ever since. A lot of people get put off by that but I love him very much." Naruto told him her smile wide and happy the whole time.

"Well, when I was little, there was a man that came to the daycare type place I was in and he shot most of the kids and adults in there. I was hiding in the closet and watched. I couldn't really do anything or risk getting shot for a bunch of brats that threw things at me and hit and made fun of me all the time. I kind of wish I did, but I was scared. I don't know what happened to him, but I've been afraid of him ever since." Naruto explained shrugging like it was nothing.

"I was terrified. I refused to leave the closet even when authorities arrived. I practacally clawed the officers eyes out when they tried to get me out." Naruto said chuckling sheepishly and scratching the back of her head with a strained twitching smile.

Ash snickered, his raspy, throaty laugh filling the air. He quickly stopped, his laugh was quite distinctive, and a bit emabarrasing. "Clawed their eyes out... wow. Wish I had the nerve to do that!" He sighed, "Unfortunately I live with my worst fear! Whoop-de-flippin- do!"

"It was really quite embarrassing when they threatened to cuff me. What's your worst fear? Is it anything I can help with?" Naruto became very concerned about him. Normally she would not care but her instincts had already labeled him friend weather he liked it or not.
