Lillith looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "Not really, it gets harder as you get into the harder classes. Well at least i think so."She smiled at herself as she thought, Okay I can have a conversation with a friend its not hard just need to get use to people starting to be nice to me that's all.
"Oh I dont know my older sister Dana and brother Seth both took this class when they were here, and they didnt take a fancy to it. But that was them. But i do hope it will be."
She looked up front to see yet again another Ravenclaw, though she has nothing against them besides they might be smarter than her but nothing against them. She smiled and waved hello to her.

Potions was a lesson that Girty was not overly good at, she saw it as a form of cooking really, and she was not very good at that either. So because of this it took a lot more to motivate herself to get up and go to lesson, she always had that nagging feeling that she was just going to make a fool of herself in a class full of Slytherin’s, so in theory the longer she took to arrive the sort space of time she would have to spend with them. Pushing open the door and into the dungeon room that was used as a classroom she gave a small sigh as her theory had been correct, the room simply seemed to be swarming with Slytherin’s. Wrinkling her nose at this fact Girty walked past a Ravenclaw and the odd Hufflepuff. Normally Girty would have stopped and greeted them all but simply to get to the table at the fair side by the wall she kept her head low and headed straight to her destination.
Placing her cauldron and bag on the table Girty slowly began to unpack getting ready for the lesson, but she could not help but keep turning around and looking at what was happening with the other people in the class. Just because she was not being sociable does not mean she was not going to be nosey and listen to what others were doing. Her attention did focus on the group of Slytherin’s and a Hufflepuff for a while and she knew that if they even dared to say anything to Maria Girty would come down on them like a tone of bricks. She had taken it upon herself to defend the Hufflepuff pride when Dan was not around, they were the bets house in the school and Girty would not have anyone else think otherwise.
Slumping into her chair and folding her arms Girty faced forwards waiting for the lesson to start but kept her ear open for any possible hint that the Slytherin’s were going after either of the lower year Hufflepuff’s in the class.

Michael had let his class run wild for a bit too long now, going round giving everyone a vial he said in a loud harsh voice, "Silence!". He didnt much care for everyones conversations, they would all have plenty of time to talk later, if there was one thing Michael did not tolerate it was people speaking in his lessons, especially if those spoke over him.
As the class fell deathly silent, Michael held up his vial, speaking in a low voice, but still as cold as ever, "These vials..." he said giving his a little shake, the sunshine yellow liquid clearly visable, "Are to be drunk by you lot, not until i say so!" he said making himself perfectly clear, "Obvioulsy i would not be drinking it, as i do not want to ruin my... well unhappy demenour" he smiled, the two biggest clues he could have given to what was in these vials. "Once you lot have drunk it and cheered up because of what this potion is, you will begin to start trying to make this potion" he looked around at the Slytherins, then to the Hufflepuffs, "I do not want any fooling around in my lesson, anyone caught messing around will automatically lose 20 points and find themselves in a weeks worth of detention. Understand?" he asked, putting his vial back on the desk, "Now before we, well you, drink these potions, can anyone tell me what the potion is?"

Girty was taken back at to how in control this professor was, it was good finally to see someone how was controlling the class and Professor Vance seemed to an air about him that demanded respect. And Girty liked that. Looking at the vial of yellow liquid Girty stared at it not daring to touch it in fear of what the professor may say, so she looked at it trying to pay attention to what he was saying and keeping a straight face. It's happy juice, how cool she thought to herself as her gaze fell fully on the yellow liquid. And even though the professor asked for an answer Girty was not stupid enough to put her hand up and say it was ‘happy juice’.
Tapping her figures lightly on the table as she looked at it closely she guessed Felix Felicius could fit in with the description that the professor was on about. The confidence boost it gives would make many people happy or incredibly stupid and act in away they should not. However Felix Felicius was molten gold and the professor seemed to be stressing the point about it making people happy. Shaking her head Girty slumped even further down in her chair and stared at the substance with a frown on her face. Breathing in deeply Girty got a sent of peppermint…'peppermint'. Looking around to see if anyone was eating anything, things slowly came togehter in the Hufflepuff’s head. Raising her hand slowly Girty kept eye contact with the professor biting her lip in hope that she was going to get this right.
“Professor is it an Elixir? An Elixir of happiness…but they would use a more fancy work erm…pleasure…ecstasy…euphoria??”
She was pulling random words out of her head trying to think of something, she could remember reading something many years ago and it would make sense from the hints he had been dropping. Lowering her gaze from the professor Girty focused on the potion once again in hope it would confirm her answer for her.

Michael looked around the deathly silent classroom, all that could be heard was people sniffing their vials. The smell of the vials with them being so many was so powerful. Though he felt a little stab of annoyance when nobody seemed to know what this stuff was. In his mind, this was second year stuff, so why did the fifth, sixth and seventh years not know?
Then to his relief a hufflepuff girl spoke. He turned to see who it was as his eyes fell on Girty, he gave a half hearted kind of smile, if anyone would know the answer it was her. "Yes it is an Elixer of Happiness" Mike said, "10 points" he turned his attention back to the class and said, holding up his vial, "This potion is called Euphoria and its an Elixir to Induce Happiness." he gazed around the classroom seeing many forlorn faces and thinking to himself And it would seem as though some could use a lot of this. "What this potion does is induce Euphoria into the drinker. Or as you will, makes them extreamly happy. Of course like any potion this does have side effects such as excessive singing nose tweaking. Though not always, as the peppermint does sometimes counteract this" he put his vial back down on the desk, "It is not a potion i would reccomend for over use, but it does come in handy once in a while. Now if you please, you may drink your potion"

Kendall had managed to slip into the room right before the teacher had called the class to attention. Grabbing a vile she found whatever seat was left, luckily it was one near a fellow Hufflepuff Girty. Ken smiled at her but quickly wiped it off her face as the professor let them know he meant business in his class. There'd be no chit chatting in here that was for sure.
As he started talking about what they would be doing in class he asked if anyone had an idea about what potion they would be working on. Ken knew the answer but Girty got to answer it first. That was fine with her, it was a fellow Puff who got it so that was all that mattered and it gained them 10 points which was surely needed they were last so far. Maybe if they all did well with their potions they could get the house more points.
Listening closely she made sure to take down all the most pertinent information she wanted to be right on the money with this one. The teacher asked them to take their sips of potion and she did so without hesitation. She didn't feel much at first, Kendall was usually a cheery person by nature, but soon she felt like she was the happiest girl in the whole world. She had wanted to giggle so badly but she bit her lip probably harder than she'd meant to but it couldn't be helped she didn't think the teacher would appreciate her bursting into fits of giggles while he was trying to conduct a lesson.

Veata hissed under her breath, glaring at Girty, who she had grown to dislike in Defense Against the Dark Arts. For a Hufflepuff, that girl tried way too hard. Though V wasn't the best at potions, even she had known what the golden liquid in their viles were, Girty had just beaten her to the answer. She rolled her eyes, settling her head on one of her hands, holding the vial of insta-happiness in her other hand. She was determined to get Slytherin to win the House Cup this term, and despite the drama that seemed to have rolled her way in perfect timing, V had attended her classes and tried her best in all of them. She would simply die if Hufflepuff won the cup in Slytherins place.
In her brooding she had missed the teachers command to drink the elixer. She lifted her head off her hand and glanced quickly around the room to find that everyone else was tipping the concoction into their mouths, and with a quick, disturbed glance to her own vial, she lifted it to her lips and let the honeylike liquid slip down her throat.
At first, she thought the professor had made a mistake when making the potion, cause she didn't feel a damn thing. Anger, guilt, and disspointment still lurked in her thoughts, ready to pounce. But then she felt a strange, bubbly, happy feeling tingling therough her stomach, lightening her limbs and her mood. A broad smile came across her lips as she held the vial out in front of her, inspecting it with amazement.
"If anything tastes like sunshine and rainbows," she said loudly, trying not to laugh, "This does." She set the empty vial on her desk, closing her eyes and reveling in the feeling the simple potion had caused. Yes, this was the good stuff, she thought to herself. Just what I needed. It felt like the sun had broken through the clouds of a rainy day and sent rainbows scattering across the sky.

Post by Laura Parkhurst on Sept 8, 2007 23:14:19 GMT
Laura had drifted into a day dream. She had a silly smile on her face, her eyes gazed far away past the castle walls and the confines of the classrooms inside them as she leaned her jaw on her up turned palm. She giggled suddenly and her chin slipped from her hand, sending her head jerking towards the table. She quickly sat up straight, putting her hands in her lap below her table, wide eyed and present in the class. What a way to ruin a perfectly lovely daydream, scare yourself half to death. Turning back to the class, Laura heard an older Hufflepuff get points.
Laura listened eagerly as the professor spoke. Anything that induced happiness was for Laura, though she rarely needed it induced in herself she just helped others find it. She picked up the small vial and put the ends to her index fingers, running to sunshine-yellow liquid from the one side of the vial to the other, smiling to herself. It was such a lovely coloured liquid and Laura was sure she could stare at it all day long. But they were soon given the task of drinking it. Laura took a moment to register the command but soon sprang into action.
She pulled the stopper out of the vial and run it under her nose, smelling a heavy peppermint smell. 'They must use peppermint in this,' she said very softly to herself. She put the vial to her lips and threw it back with her head. The vial may have been cool but as the liquid went down her throat, Laura was warmed by a tingly sensation that started in her chest and spread like wild fire through her body. She slouched in her seat, spreading her feet and flopping her arms across the desk. 'Yummy,' she said, 'tastes like peppermint too.' She gazed doe-eyed at the empty vial in her hand.

Party time seemed to be over as the professor put and end to all the talking in the room. If Angel hadn't enjoyed potions so much she might consider objecting, but no instead she just figured she'd do whatever it would take to get her house some points today. She was frowning when she saw Hufflepuff make the first move. That Girty Hubbles thinking she knew everything. Well maybe she should have been in Ravenclaw then.
Angel felt bitter because the answer was on the tip of her tongue and she beat her to it. Soon she was starting to feel her bad mood return she almost dropped the vial in her hand as she tried to open it but her quick reflexes caused her to keep it secure long enough so that she could take the concoction to her lips. Parting her mouth she allowed it to flow out of the vile and into her willing mouth.
Closing her mouth when she was done she swallowed and sat there just waiting. Oddly enough she really needed it now. Closing her peepers as if doing that would cause the potion to work faster she sat on her seats edge. It was potent stuff too because she was starting to feel happy it was spreading through her like wild fire. Opening her eyes once more she looked around the room everything seemed brighter and her anger disappeared it was as if it never existed. She felt better so much better.

Listening quietly but intently to the professor's explanation, Erys nodded, glancing at the vial in her hand every so often. A happiness potion, hm? Well, maybe it would cheer her up from the fact that Hufflepuff got ten more points. Bah, whatever, Slytherin was leading still and nobody was going to catch up very soon. Waiting for the thumbs up from Vance, Erys then took a healthy swig from the potion, downing it in one gulp. After a few moments of slight skepticism, the animagus felt a tingling sensation overcome her. Suddenly she was all warm and bubbly, as if she had swallowed five blood pops on one shot. "Woah." She giggled involuntarily, stopping to stare at herself, horrified. As if tentacles had sprouted from her nostrils. Erys would never allow herself to giggle so girly-like ever again. Never.
"This feels neat." She murmured, looping an arm around Angel and Joshua before smiling dreamily. The thoughts of V being mad at her had already vanished, to be replaced by a bubbly, strange feeling. Now that she thought of it.. Erys shouldn't have taken the potion. The emotions she felt now might try to distract her from doing her best at creating the potion, and that wasn't good. She was a Slytherin though, and wouldn't be deterred.

Maria smiled as Girty got some housepoints for Hufflepuff. It was good to see Hufflepuff getting some points, since Slytherin was already in the lead. As the professor instructed them to drink the potion, Maria hesitated. She picked up the vial, and looked at the sunshine yellow potion for a moment. Then looking around the room, as others drank their potions Maria heard their giggles. All the tension that had been between the Slytherins had disappeared.
Then she looked over at Veata who had already drank her potion. She smiled seeing Veata happier, than Maria could have ever even imagined her to be. With another look at her potion, Maria drank it quickly. After a moment, it starting kicking in and she felt the joy spreading through her. She smiled, widely, and couldn't help but giggle quietly some.

Girty glanced nervously around the room as she watched people slowly drink the potion and then burst out into fits of giggles and shouting out rather random statements. Girty was crazy enough even without the help of a potion, and after what the professor had said she started to get rather paranoid. She may have won Hufflepuff ten points but if she did not control herself she would lose them quicker then anything.
Breathing in deeply she slowly rising the vial to her hand Girty gave on last look at the yellow substance before drinking it down as fast as possible. The smell of peppermint spread over her and the taste was of mint was almost addictive. Tipping the vial so it was vertical and every last drop came out Girty licked her lips and waited for something to happen.
Slowly a warm felling began to spread throughout her body and a smile began to creep across her face. Placing the vial back on the table Girty was biting her lips trying to stop the laughter, her shoulders her shaking and she was trying to take calming breaths but could not contain the laughter. The giggles sort of blurted out of her and although she placed her hand over her mouth to try and muffle the sound of her high pitched squeaks.
This stuff was good.
