If You Dare...[The Mini Plot]

Note: This is not a site plot, and so it's not official and you don't have to join it to be involved in the upcoming Ridd Plot. This is just an idea that a few normal RPers have come up with.

I think Ridd needs a bit of unity. Everyone's so snug in their own comfort zone, RPing with the same people, that they don't really get the chance to know anyone outside of their little group.

That's why some of us want to start something fun, that involves interaction with a number of different people...

We want to start a club - a social student club with no teacher involvement. Although it's not 'illegal', it will still be a secret organization between the Hogwart's underage population.

Some of the basics are;

- Narcissus Drachen, Echo Keir and Noah Yves will be the 'founders'. Purely because we came up with the idea - We're starting this to have some fun with everyone on the site, not because we want anyone to be leader. The only reason the club needs a founder is so there are a few constant characters to create the club threads, and because we have planned out a structure that we'd like to implement. Please, Please, Please don't be offended that they are 'founders' because it really makes no difference to the club, as everyone's role in it are the same.

- The entire reason for the club's existence is mischief. There's not really any purpose other than to have different characters of varied ages/houses get together and wreck havoc. But here's the thing... They'll have to wreck havoc on each other.

The concept is: Dares. During a meeting, one person will inflict a bizarre and dangerous dare on another club member (Hopefully something very adventurous and open-ended) They will RP the dare in a new thread wherever appropriate.

Ex) If Noah Yves dared Willa Abbott to steal one of the merpeople's spears, she would create a new thread in the lake board. It doesn't have to be a closed thread (It would be more adventurous if the dare thread was kept open) but that's up to the RPer.

In the club-meeting thread, since Willa was dared last, she gets to dare someone next. That way everyone has a chance to be involved.

There are a few kinks, and this could use a bit more explanation, I'm sure. But this post was mainly created just to see how many people would be interested in joining the club, and if there's enough, we'll get started right away!

In fact, Narcissus/Noah/Echo are about to launch it in Perplexed Steps.

I really hope this is fun, and gives everyone a chance to RP with each other. Plus, we may be able to integrate it into the new plot as well - who knows?

So go ahead and give your criticisms, thoughts, opinions, comments, or randomly let me know what you had for lunch. 'Cause that information is also useful since I'm sick of sandwiches and need to try something new...

I really like this idea! I think it could work well and gives us different types of threads! I for one shall be sending in some of my peeps as it sounds real fun!

Sorry to be so useless and offer no more opinions on that but I can see no flaws in the plan!!! YAY for mini-plots!

I must concure with the funny looking one. It does sound like a very good plan and you can count me in. That being said it would probably be people like Neth, Amara, The Twins (la duh) who would join. Should be loads of fun.

The only thing I could see happening is because One person is dared at a time, what if that person becomes inactive and it ruins the whole train?

I expect that'll happen, actually. Hmm... if things slow down, or someone falls inactive, I don't think there'd be any major confusion in starting a dare for the next person?

Also, like Darin suggested, if these dares are open then club members can accompany one another (while letting the thread leader do their dare themselves, obviously) so that could push things along a bit. But I guess some dares will have to become temporarily dormant if people are away. They can always pick up where they left off, although they'll screw up the time continum a bit.

...On second thoughts, if there are three founders and lord knows how many members, surly we can have more than two dares going on at any one time?

Oh Yeeah, you're right. That's a sticky problem. Thanks for pointing it out.

What about this:
In the CT (Club thread), Willa will leave to complete the dare and we socialize a bit. Once she creates her DT (Dare Thread, she can come back into the CT without actually finishing the Dare - but acts like she has, of course.

Like, for example;

Willa returned to the anxious eyes of the club-members hours later soaking wet. Clutched in her little clumsy fingers was the spear... etc.

Then, she can dare someone else in the CT while taking her time finishing the actual DT. That way, she doesn't have a lot of pressure to RP quickly. And if the DT dies, the CT isn't totally effected.

We'll just have a limit to how many people should be dared in one club meeting? And make sure all DTs are either abandoned or completed by the next meeting.

But it'd be cool to hear if anyone has any other solutions.

And, I feel you all think I'm not serious about the lunch comment! Really... tell mee what to eaaat.

I like Noah's idea. So basically, you have to plan the outcome before it happens and work your way up to it. Wicked idea. && it leaves a no pressure atmosphere.

Glad you like it! - and it looks like there's enough people to get it started. The first meeting will be up soon, hopefully, and anyone is free to join.

There will be rules, as there is with any club, but it will be funnnn so joooin.

I'll force you to join if I have to ... using hypnosis and/or dangerous weapons.

But don't feel afraid/nervous to join it or anything! If you really don't want to, that's obviously okay, but don't be scared away by commitment... cause as Ellie said, we're trying to make it a no-pressure thing.

Sounds like a really cool idea to me!

But what I'm really replying for is to say try omelette for lunch! Really easy to make & you can throw anything in. (Its what I make when I have a load of things needing using up in the fridge =P) Though I'm going to have a jacket potato for my lunch today.. yummmmm.

There will be loads of socialization, and it'll be especially good for those who want to meet new people to RP with. You don't actually have to sign up, or anything, only reply to the thread as if you're entering the room as well.

And then we can start daring each other to do ridiculously dangerous and impulsive things.

It's a shame no ones joining, I agree. I should point out you don't need to be at the first meeting to be a member - you can join in any time later, if you change your mind and decide you want to RP with us.
