Cristian had been studying hard in the common room of Ravenclaw, with the window open, he sat on the window sill with his knees up he lent on a book whilst writing. The breeze came through every so often, wafting the edge of his papers. From the window he could see a good section of the sky which was pure blue, with hardly any white clouds in sight. A new year had just begun, and he was looking forward to finally getting his life on a set of permanent tracks instead of being passed from pillar to post like an unwanted gift. He had been an Orphan since he was a baby, and had been in the hands of magical and muggle foster parents and care homes, all in which he was never really wanted or cared for. He looked up to see someone standing nearby.

Carolanne was upstairs in the girls dormitory sorting out her clothes from Ashton's. She wasn't exactly sure how almost half of the things in her trunk belong to Ash; maybe she borrowed some stuff and forgot to give it back. Pulling out the last item of Ash's, his favorite shirt she stole months ago, she neatly folded it and placed it on top of the pile of clothes.
Standing up, she wiped the dust off her knees and picked up the pile. Walking out of the girls dorm, she went to the guys and set the pile down infront of the door with a note that simply read, "Ash."
Laney was wearing a shirt she borrowed from Cristian and a pair of faded blue jeans with holes in the thighs and knees. It was a study day for almost everyone except Laney who used the time to catch up on her reading.
Running down the stairs, she noticed Cristian was sitting on the window sill once again. With a soft sigh, she leaned against the wall and watched him for a moment. Laney didn't know what was going through his head, she only hoped it was nothing bad.
Grabbing her book on Anne Boleyn that normally stood above the fireplace, she walked over to him. "Hey," she said with a small wave of her hand. Without an invite, she sat down infront of him and grabbed the book out of his hands and placed it on her own lap. Pulling a bobbypin out of her hair, she placed it in the book to mark where he had left off then closed the book and set it aside.
"What's on your mind," she asked him with soft expressions.

Cristian was interupted by the one person he wanted to be interupted by. He smiled softly at her as she took the book from his hands and put a pin in it as a bookmark.
What's on your mind?
He thought for a moment, and realised he was thinking about a lot of things all at once. "Everything" he replied, unsure of whether he was happy or sad about it all. Truthfully, he thought about his past, and how he missed his idea of his family, the future, who would be in it and what would it hold for him. He hoped that Laney would still stick by him through whatever they went through. He thought about Hogwarts and how he would do in His exams, and whether he'd get a good enough job to have a good future. He realised he was rethinking, he then looked back over to Laney and smiled. "What about you?" He asked.

Laney nodded and smirked when he answered her. "Everything, huh?" she said pushing one of his legs off the sill so she could lean against him. Once she was comfortable, she grabbed one of his hands and traced it, "Anything about me?" she asked him.
When she was asked what she was thinking of, Laney shrugged, "I'm not exactly sure. Mostly just the 'right here, right now' sort of things," she answered him. Laney knew that whatever her future held for her should stay in the future. She didn't bother herself with worrying about it. It was one of the things that set Carolanne apart from everyone else. She didn't care about tomorrow, only what was going on right now.

Cristian grinned before answering her. "Of course about you" he said then smiling again. "What have you been doing up there anyway?" he asked nodding his head upwards, indicating the dorms.

Once again, Laney gave Cristian a shrug. It was almost an instinct for her. "I was sorting out my clothes of Ashton's. It's pretty bad when half of your wardrobe belongs to your brother," she said with a laugh. "I figured he needed some of his clothes back," she finished with a half shrug.
Turning her head, she gave him a small yet gentle kiss then smiled up at him. "Were the thoughts about me good or bad?" she questioned. Laney was that way, if someone said they were either just thinking about her or talking about her, she needed to know what about.

Cristian kissed her back, and smiled at her sweetness. "It was all bad, I forgot to tell you I hate you" He joked, then started to laugh. "No, just, stuff...and how cute you are, and how I really love you...and that i'll be gutted and heartbroken if you ever left me" he mumbled as he took her hand and stroked it with his other hand.

Laney looked at him blankly when he said he hated her. Once he laughed, she knew he was joking with the statement, but it still hurt a little. Carolanne looked out the window and listened to him talk. It was a wonderful feeling knowing that you were loved and cared for. At his last statement, Laney abruptly turned her head in his direction, "Cristian, don't talk like that, please. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not going to leave you," she told him before giving him a kiss full of longing.

He kissed her back, then pulled her up to sit on his lap and he cuddled her as her back was against his chest. "I hope not" he replied to her stating she wasn't going to leave him. "I don't know what i'd do without you now" he whispered into her ear, before kissing her on the cheek, and gently rocking her side to side while hugging her.

Laney closed her eyes and she rested against Cristian. With a sigh, she opened her eyes and stared out at the surroundings, "Cris, what do you think the future will be like?" she asked him, "I never thought about it, usually I don't but now I'm curious," she stated.

Cristian sat for a moment and thought about what she just said. "You know, I'm not sure. It's what you do with your life now I suppose which sorts your future for you" he sighed. "What future do you want?" he asked her.

Carolanne grabbed one of his hands and held it in hers. She thought about his question for a moment. What kind of future did she want? "A happy one," she answered him. Laney sighed. What exactly was a happy future? Did it contain love? Fame? Money? Cristian? Happiness?
Laney looked down at his hand in hers, her heart jumping in her chest. Did her idea of a happy future include them? At the moment, she hoped so.

Cristian smiled at her. "Don't you even think of what's going to happen? What you'll look like in a few years? What job you'll end up in? I do all the time" He answered.

Carolanne laughed, "Uh... I figured I'd look the same only slightly older," she said with a shrug. "I'm not too worried about what I look like as long as I'm still the same person. People says age changes people, well, I don't like to think of it like that. I figure age only changes those that lets it change them," she said with a nod. "And about the job? I'm gonna be a stay at home mommy," she said with a laugh, "Actually, I already told you what I wanted to do. I'm going to help out third world countries, remember?"

"Oh yeah" He grinned. "Super Hero Laney. But you'd make a great stay at home mommy" He smiled. She'd be great at whatever she did.
