Things in the common room weren't working out for her. Angelina was being the usual twat and trying to get on every guy in site; Erys was being her usual 'Queen Bee' self and Ricky, Ricky was being a jackass like always. But, they were all slytherins like herself, what more could she expect from them? Rather annoyed with them, however, drove her to leave the castle and find a more quiet place free from small first years that could get in her way.
It was January and rather cold outside but Corrie didn't care, she needed air and lots of it. Walking in her winter's best (Mainly just a warmer jacket and mittens) she scouted the lawns and found a spot away from everyone near some random tree.
She didn't care that there was snow on the ground still, she didn't care how harsh the wind was blowing and she really didn't care that some stupid slytherin guy was headed her way. Alright, so he wasn't stupid, she just didn't know him that well... Markus something or another. But what did she care.... wait... she didn't.

From arriving at Hogwarts from Durmstrang, Markus had noticed the differences in most things, especially the students. He had been making an obvious impact on the school already with his posh, arrogant exterior, and that was before he even opened his mouth. He had been here a mere two weeks and already the place was boring him. How dull.
He had heard many stories from fellow students at his previous school about the ‘houses’ in Hogwarts, and he knew for a fact that his traits would put him in Slytherin. Apparently he was a sly and conniving and that made him the perfect candidate for the snake house. He had decided to spend his last year at a new school to gain more experience in the Dark Arts. He had heard the teacher worked wonders and he was just dying to get better prospects than at his current school. So, here he was, doing what he wanted, as usual.
Having full days of classes, he hadn’t had much time to explore his surroundings, therefore, today he took it upon himself to have a look around. Non of the slytherins had been bothered by his sudden presence in the common room, and he wasn’t at all the least bit bothered either, he wasn’t there to make friends, he was there to become the best.
Wandering out of the open doors that lead to the lawns, the cold hit his face like a bucket of ice, and instantely made his eyes narrow from the wind. It was momentary, and his long black coat flapped a little as he walked. Strolling down a small hill, he noticed a blonde slytherin which he had seen a lot in and around the common room and classes. He didn’t know her name or really anything about her, but hell, he figured he’d have to speak to somebody sometime. “So they’re annoying you too, right?”

Well, like she had guessed, the boy walked over to her. Why... why was her question. She wasn't anything appealing nor did throw herself onto anyone like a certain Angelina she knew. Corrie was just... well, the crabby, arrogant Corrie who distanced herself from basically everyone. So seriously... was she just going to be his first victim or something, if that was the case, he had another thing coming.
Corrie glanced up at him, no expression on her face. A smile meant she was welcoming him but she wasn't. A frown or scowl meant she was upset and most people ask 'what's wrong' and nothing was bother her at the moment. Instead... a blank expression would have to do and he'd have to deal with it. "Depends on who they are."
Turning her attention away from him, she gave a small laugh, "If you mean the frauds in the common room, then yes, they are annoying. If you mean the bratty little gryffindors, then yes, they are annoying as well."
Markus... Markus something. A transfer from Durmstrang apparently, or so she was told. So far she had no reason to hate him, but then that wouldn't be Corrie. People annoyed her in general but she needed to give this... boy a chance. "Corrie Evans," she introduced herself.

The look on the girl’s face was blank, however still resentment showed itself somehow upon it, and it seemed she did not want anyone near her. Still, he wasn’t going to change his direction now, and he didn’t plan to either. As she answered his question, a smile crossed with a smirk crept onto his lips and he sat down next to her, but far enough away so he wasn’t invading her ‘space’.
“I was referring to the fellow Slytherins, but I suppose Gryffindorks too” he said, letting a small laugh be released from his mouth. Looking over to the Lake he watched the water for a moment as it’s gentle ripples distressing the still waters. Stretching out his legs, he looked down at his coat that he was now sitting on. Looking back at Corrie, he gave her a small smile.
“Corrie, I’m Markus Randal. So is it always this dull around here?”he asked, with no expression upon his face. Even Durmstrang was more dramatic than this place, and he was beginning to think he’d made a mistake coming to Hogwarts. Looking back over to the lake, he watched as a few birds landed in the water and began to float on the water.
“So, I was wondering, do you know the answer as to why everyone is a complete jackass?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. He hated people too, and found most people as inferior beings.Pretty much every person he had ever met had annoyed him in some way or another.

As the new comer sat down, she tensed up slightly. She just wasn't used to hanging around people that much... lack of friends, I suppose. He smiled and as a reaction, she smiled back. Markus seemed like an okay guy so far.
Ah, yes. So he was talking about the frauds. She nodded, "Slytherin's just aren't what they used to be. Someone needs to set an example as to who we really are. Morgana Croft is doing an excellent job, she's my mentor, so to speak," she added with a seductive smirk. Corrie wasn't the one to flirt, but she had her own way of showing she was interested in someone. Markus, sure he was handsome and had a mysterious side that Corrie was drawn to, but she didn't know him. Then again, sometimes it was better not knowing anything than everything.
"Dull. Yes. You have to make drama or excitement if you want any. But, those nerdy Ravenclaw's have stirred up their fair share so far this term. There's always the forest, though. Never dull in there." The forest, Corrie's sanctuary. The one place you won't usually find anyone other than a slytherin who dared to venture in.
"Well, lets just say its the increase of drug usage among the students," of course she was kidding but it did seem as if a few students were high on something. Ashton Laurent could be mistaken for a Meth addict; hyper, bipolar, delusional. Carolanne McLane, Ash's sister and Angelina, Ecstasy... the whore's of the school. Of course, these were only theories of an over imaginative Corrie. "Truth be told, Markus. No one knows why everyone acts the way they do."

As he looked out onto the lake, he turned his head back to Corrie when she mentioned someone he wasn’t familiar with, yet he had heard her name along with ‘psycho’ numerous times around the school. He hadn’t met her yet, but she seemed like a character and a half.
“Morgana? I have yet to meet her, but I overheard a pair of Hufflepuff’s saying she’d bitten the girl hufflepuff’s leg? I’m hoping she was in her animagus form and not just becoming a cannibal” he said smugly, and a laugh escaped his lips. Even though he was new, he had heard of three names especially in the slytherin house, Morgana, Corrie and Erys. All slytherins, but Morgana was the psychotic one. Corrie was the silent, bitchy one, and Erys was the flirty, yet dangerous one. Still, it didn’t matter to him, he himself was a slytherin.
“The Forest? What’s in there?” he asked, flicking his eyes over to the entrance of the dark forest. He could sure do with a bit of fun, and that seemed like his escape. If Corrie was up for it, he would like to have a wander around and see what secrets they could unfold together. Turning his head back to her as she mentioned drug abuse, Markus laughed and shook his head.
“Well, they sound like...characters?” he smirked.
