"La la la, la la lalala, la la la, la la lalala."
Lucy sat with her back to a tall tree, guitar in hand. Her fingers moved delicately over the neck as she played the different chords of the song. Sadly, she didn't really know the words to the song, just the tune. She had picked out how to play it after hearing it only twice before. It was by some wizard band. She had never heard them before, but that wasn't a big surprise considering her muggle heritage.
"La, la la, lalala."
She continued singing, her soft voice gave the song a nice round sound, even though there wasn't any words spoken. Music was amazing. It could calm Lucy down, get her in a better mood, get her energized, all at the same time. It lets out a sort of crazy feeling that was building up, and it felt so good to just let it go. Lucy began playing louder as the song picked up. Still no words, but the melody became more complex. Energy swirled.
"La La La Laaaa."
Lucy held out the last note. She strummed an ending, and smiled, leaning her head up against the tree, breathing softly.

The day was beautiful, too beautiful to spend in the Burrow of a common room the Puffs had. So Marcus had brought his book and his toad outside with him, his book held high in front of his face and Sherlock in his other hand. As he walked and read the thought came to Marcus that it was said that males couldn't multitask, perhaps then he was not an average male.
Whatever the case was, Marcus walked and read his book. It was a most intriguingly read: the book was a murder mystery much like the Sherlock Holmes books that he enjoyed so much. Amara had gotten it for him for Christmas, much to Marcus' surprise. Mara was being thoughtful towards him of late and he was a little worried. He did not complain though, it was a rare even and pleasurable all the same.
The rhythmic sounds of a guitar traveled to the red head's ears as he walked and his sister just instantly into his mind. Was she out here too, playing her guitar? Marcus lowered his book and looked around. From where he was now standing, there was a tree a way away from him with the head of a guitar sticking out like a branch. That must be her.
Knowing how little Sherlock liked it when Marcus ran, the small boy began to walk very fast towards the tree. He rounded it and enthusiastically cried, "Amara!" It was only then that he realised it wasn't his sister at all. The embarrassment lit up the small boy's face and his hands became sweaty. "I - I - I ..." he stammered but couldn't get any more out then that.

"Amara!"
Lucy looked up from her guitar, a strange look on her face. "What did you call me?" she said. It sounded like the boy had just sneezed. Apparently, he realized that Lucy was not this "Amara" person, and he looked as though he was going to cry.
As he stuttered, Lucy face went from odd expression to one of compassion. "I was only joking." She said, hoping that he as frightened of her. Honestly, who would be frightened of Lucy? Well, someone who deserved to be frightened of Lucy, thats who, but this little red headed boy had nothing to fear.
"Nice frog." Lucy said, strumming a chord on her guitar. "Whats his name?" She asked, hoping to soften the little boy up. I mean honestly, he couldn't have been younger than twelve. Lucy quickly ruled out that he was a Gryffindor. There were no shy Gryffindors, that was for sure.

Marcus was lost for words, clearly. He stammered "I - I - I" a few times more before the older student spoke. She seemed to be Amara's age so maybe she knew her but from her reaction Marc thought she probably didn't. That was typical of Amara, Marcus thought, say she is very popular and then find few students actually talk to her. He would have put it down to how mean she was but that was just to him so maybe not.
From her tone, she sounded angry but when her expression changed it was clear she wasn't. Truly the joke was on him; he had been the one to think she was his sister and she turned out not to be. He didn't fully understand the joke but if it had been one it had been on him. He relaxed slightly when she said that she was joking.
Marcus pushed his glasses up his nose with his index finger of the hand still holding the book. Without realising it he had closed it without looking at the page number. Now the next time he went to read it he would have to do a bit of searching before he could read. He supposed that was just what happened when he got expectant and excited.
The blond girl asked about hit toad and that was a topic that put the small red headed boy at ease. He lifted Sherlock up a little and held him out to the girl slightly. "This is Sherlock the Toad," he said, "Sherlock meet ... erm ..." A frown creased his brow as he looked from the toad to the blond girl. "I'm sorry," he said, "I don't know your name. I'm Marcus Conway."

This kid was pretty darn adorable. Lucy smiled and laughed. She wasn't laughing at him, she was just laughing in general. Lucy remembered the time when she and her nanny were shopping in London when Lucy lost her. She walked up to a woman who look almost exactly like Nanny and hit her on the rump exclaiming, "Don't lose me!!". Lucy was shocked to find it was her nanny but some foreign lady who had no idea was Lucy as saying. Nanny ended up rescuing the seven year old, but Lucy never got lost again, she made sure of it.
"Well, Hello Marcus, and hello Sherlock!" Lucy said, still smiling. What a funny name for a frog, and yet she could totally believe that a little red headed, be-speckled boy holding a book would name his frog Sherlock. The thought made her giggle again. "I'm Lucy...Kimble." she added after the fact. she asked, the boy was small, so she guessed. Lucy didn't really care if she was right or not. "So, who did you think I was?" Hopefully not someone really old or really young. Lucy thought. She thought she looked very much her age. At sixteen, Lucy was smack dab in the middle of her teenage years. She didn't want to be old, she didn't want to be young. [/blockquote]

Tears threatened to fall, she was just so upset. It was the worst week of her life, she used to love school and now she just hated it. The night before she stayed locked up in her room writing a letter to her parents talking about that horrible shrew of a woman. She was in the class and could feel those eyes on her, those green eyes that looked right through her. She didn't know what else to do, she thought of dropping the class thinking that perhaps that might make her life easier, but something told her that wouldn't work. She wrote for hours and hours until her hand hurt so bad she couldn't hold the quill any longer. Then she summoned the courage to take the note to the owlery and send it off.
Now, in the light of day she wondered if she should have done that. Some part of her had a feeling that would make things worse. Too late now, hence the crying. Somehow she managed to get outside hoping the decent weather would lighten her somber mood, but no such luck. Her eyes were watery and red as she walked aimlessly.
Looking down she had not noticed anyone else out there until voices carried in the air forcing her to look up. That's when she noticed two students one from her house a year older and one a younger student by the looks of him. Wiping her eyes now she placed a smile on her face hoping it didn't look as fake as it felt. "Hey there you two what's up?" she said in what she hoped was a cheerful voice.

[[ sorry i took so long to reply, was away for ages ]] The blond girl had not eaten Marcus yet so he was beginning to think that this encounter might not be so terrifying after all. She introduced herself as Lucy and Marcus smiled shyly, avoiding her eyes. The name Lucy always reminded him of some of his favourite books, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the lovely girl in there. It was simply one of those things that would always remind him of something else. Just then another student joined them, another older girl. Marcus didn't like being around older students, they always made him feel silly, they scared the talk right out of him, and it was worse because they were both girls. Sherlock croaked loudly in his hand ofter the new girl spoke. He clearly approved so Marcus changed his mind about running away and hiding under a bush. Looking to the girl furtively, Marcus gave her a half hearted smile, it was the best he could do. "He-hello," he said, before swallowing his heart back to where it was supposed to be. You would have thought that being best friends with a girl, Marcus would have been used to being around them but they continued to worry him. "We- we were just making introductions," Marcus said, his cheeks flushing red under his freckles. "And what about you?" he asked conversationally.
