Jac was almost excited for the little excursion that would show many purebloods how it was to be a muggle. She couldn't wait to see the looks on some smug faces when they realise that life as a muggle isn't all roses and cherry cakes. Jac needed to do a little research, however, to make sure she wasn't one of those that got the wake up call. She headed for the library during a free period and headed for the Muggle Studies shelf.
The library was quiet, just the way it should be, so it made things easier for Jac to concentrate. She tapped her fingers along the shelves as she eyed the various books and found one that sounded promising: Home Life and Social Habits of British Muggles by Wilhelm Wigworthy. Though it was a third year text book, it would do the trick very well. She plucked it from it's shelf and placed it on a nearby table with her rucksack. She tied her long paper-bag brown hair loosely and turned to the first page. She pulled out a quill, parchment, and began to make brief notes and tips for the trip.

Studying up on muggles.. Cessily sighed, shaking her head sadly. She hadn't wanted to go on this little trip except to see if human blood tasted any better than wizard. Not that anybody knew her true intentions of signing up, of course.. That was a secret. Taking a quick swig from her flask - which contained blood, but everyone just assumed it was juice - before pocketing it once more, she let her tongue slide along the edge of her lips, gathering the last traces of her drink and consuming them. This place was duller than drying paint. Why she was here in the library, the vampire had no idea. Perhaps to watch this metamorph chick read up on some worthless topic that didn't need indulging in the slightest. Nearly uncontrollable anger was part of the deal, if you got bitten. It sucked, really, immortality. With nobody to share it with, forever sounded pretty lonely. This studying girl was lucky to be able to breathe, to have a heart that still beated within her chest. Instinctively pressing her hand against the area where her heart used to occupy, feeling no pulse underneath her icy skin, Cessily dropped her arm, disappointed. Foolish to believe that she was only half-dead.
"Find anything useful so far?" Came her hauntingly sublime voice, floating softly from her parted lips to reach the ears of miss Biggerstall. The Quadwizard champion, too; but Cessily didn't have it in her right mind to congradulate her. Despite extremely civil to most people, she didn't keep up with the latest celebration news and such. Jac was a nice girl, and didn't deserve to be insulted by someone evil such as herself. Flicking her eyes quickly over the page of notes, the vampire glided towards her, gracefully sitting across from her. "I signed up for the same trip." Appearing as if trying to smile, though unfortunately having it come off as a smirk, Cessily folded her hands together against the tabletop, watching the Gryffindor quietly.

Jac had made a little more then eight inches of notes, her small round words stretching across all the page, when a voice carried to her ears from across the table she was sitting at. Jac, mid-sentence, finished writing, made a point of putting the full stop at the end, and grinned at the page. Then she looked up, smiling, and saw a dark haired girl sitting across from her. Jac was surprised that anyone would talk to her, but Jac liked surprises.
Not wanting to be ruse, Jac nodded and smiled wider, her nose wrinkling, and pushed the page towards the girl. "A few very interesting things," Jac said, "like, did you know that muggles actually use these ladder things to hang decorations and do it by hand, as in actually touching the decorations. It's so weird." Jac ran her finger on the line where this information was, then looked up and smiled a toothy smile at the dark girl in front of her.
Jac, turning her hair the warm orange she seemed to favour these days, smiled at the dark girl sitting across from her. The two would have been a sight to see. Her, a smiling, red head with ink stains on her hands; the girl across from her, dark in every conceivable way, dark eyes, dark hair, a dark stare that could only make Jac smile more. "What do you think?" she asked, glancing at her notes, then back to the girl.

Flicking her eyes quickly across the page, she nodded slowly, thinking this may be fascinating for the Gryffindor but there were other qualities about muggles that spurred Cessily's interests. Like how most of them didn't have the strength to fight back, or the magic to protect themselves from the darkness of her world. The thought of blood caused her eyes to deepen in color, but the image in her mind wasn't powerful enough to make her eyes change entirely. It was strange, how some could identify her by catching a rare glimpse of the crimson in her irises. One boy in the dungeons had thought she was a vampire by just looking at her, a talent he was lucky to possess. Cessily hadn't tasted him, for he was needed if she wanted to get into the Rogue Wizards.
"I never knew that." She remarked, her low voice a little higher at the realisation. How delightful. Cessily thought, tempted to roll her eyes. Why did she sign up for the stupid trip anyway, to live like primates in that under-developed world? Unless the professor caught her sneaking her wand in, which he probably wouldn't, she would have to live like a muggle. Doing things by hand wasn't the problem, but.. Well, the Ravenclaw'd wait and see.
Tapping her thin fingers against the desk, she pretended to think for a moment the answer to Jac's question, already knowing her opinion on the matter. "I think," She began with a small grin, "its very strange." Which wasn't the only odd thing around here- the other girl was smiling at her in a manner so intense it was hard not to look away. Cessily had never encountered someone so sickeningly happy all the time, it made her shudder. Indeed, the pair would have been a sight to see. Complete opposites. The yin and yang of Hogwarts, sitting at the same table.

Jac watched the girl closely. She watched how she scanned the notes Jac had made, rather then read through them carefully, digesting each point to the point where it had no flavour left as most Claws she knew would do. She watched how the Claw's fingers drummed on the tables, silently moving as though moving a coin across her knuckles, and the near silent tap-tap-tap of her nails against the wood of the desk perhaps showing annoyance but Jac couldn't be sure. She watched how her eyes changed ever so slightly that only Jac's trained eyes would have picked up. When yours did the same you tended towards noticing it more readily then others.
Jac's smile dropped when she noticed the intense way the Claw was glaring at her. She generally didn't mind but with all the weird unpleasant thoughts rolling around her head for some or other reason she didn't handle it as well as she might have. She wasn't sure what to say about it. She doubted that this girl would be the same as her but she would ask just in case. Jac took a bit of hair that hung over her shoulder, red and straight, pulled it and let it bounce back, brown and curly. "Can you do the same?" she asked conversationally, coolly, "or is it just your eyes?" If the answer to the latter was yes, it would not surprise her for she had met many who could only change their eyes.

Was the tapping getting on her nerves? If it was, Cessily didn't notice, continuing to rap her fingers against the wood before stopping suddenly. A bunch of little indents from her nails were now visible, having been pounded repeatedly into the wood without her noticing the effect's. Watching them now, she leaned her head to one side. Ah, well, what could she do now? The answer was, occupy herself with this Gryffindor and her studies, however pointless they may be.
It wasn't her fault she appeared to be glaring, after all. Anger was in her veins, taking the place of blood. Smoothing her look for the other's sake after noticing Jac wasn't grinning anymore, Cessily watched with dull interest as she changed her hair color and style. A useful talent, one she was lucky to possess. Licking her lips, the vampire locked her eyes with the metamorph's, smiling suddenly. "I cant change my eye color." She stated simply. Not on her own, or purposely. It happened when she thought about blood, or smelt it. Linking her fingers together on the desk, the Ravenclaw decided to provide the other girl with a bit more info. So she wouldn't pry, of course. "I find that it just happens, sometimes."

Jac had cocked her head to one side, her brown curly hair bouncing with every movement. She watched the girl contemplate her question, clearly some doubt rolled through her head about how to answer Jac's question. Jac straightened her neck as her muscle cramped and twitched painfully. She ran a hand over the muscle of her neck and closed her eyes as she rubbed it. She would have to talk Ian into giving her a massage tonight.
When the other girl finally answered Jac frowned in confusion, opened her eyes and stared at the Claw. But I saw it happen! Jac protested, I did! She was about to protest, dropped her arm, but she was forestalled. Jac's confused expression dropped to one of indifference. "Oh," she said. She shook her head, her curls bouncing out and becoming the straight red it had been before.
Jac pulled her parchment towards herself and studied the points she had made. All seemed pointless, now, and she had the overwhelming urge to scrunch up the parchment but didn't. Instead she picked up her quill again, turned the page of the text book and began to jot down points again. She had nothing left to say to this girl and had a feeling she didn't want to say much else to her. Jac looked up from her book and smiled at her to show she meant no disrespect by her actions.

Grace had become increasingly annoyed with the fact that she had not gotten the answers correct in Ancient Runes. It had begun to eat at her and she had decided to do something about it. She went to the library in search of something, anything to improve her knowledge of this fascinating subject. She had search for a while, carefully contemplating which would be the most beneficial book to chose. Having found one, drawn it from the shelf, she sought a table.
She walked through the library, looking at all the tables that she could and suddenly spotted a red head. A smiled filled Grace's face as she changed her course towards her. She noticed a dark Ravenclaw sitting across from Jac and as she pulled out the chair next her friend, smiled at the girl. "Hi," Grace said to her, and held out her hand, "I'm Grace." Grace smiled at Jac then back to the girl she was sitting with. It was rather random for Grace to join the two but she had no better place to sit. She and Jac were close so why go anywhere else? she thought.

Being accustomed to silence, Cessily wasn't bothered when Jac decided to write more notes down. It was good the redhead was occupying herself with something other than why her eyes changed color every so often. She must have heard many similar cases in the past, because it didn't appear to interest her that much. Plus, she was a metamorph, so she had an excuse not to find it really cool. "Mhm." The vampire murmured in responce, lowering her gaze to the parchment before Accio'ing a book. Glancing at the title (Hogwarts A History) before opening it, she ran a long, thin finger along an interesting sentence. Reading it, even though she had no idea what chapter she was on. Might as well do something better than stare at the girl sitting opposite to her. The daring, popular, sickeningly sweet, beautiful girl.
Prying her eyes away from the page as a new scent wafted towards her, Cessily's eyes rose to meet a bubbly blonde's. Or, what her image deemed her to be. Ah, how lovely, more people. This was why she preferred sitting alone. Watching as the sixth or seventh year sat comfortably beside her, the Ravenclaw was silent for a moment, staring at the outstretched hand as if it would burn her. After a few second's pause, she reached her own palm out, giving the other a nice, firm shake. Grace would notice that her hand was really cold, due to her not being alive and all. (Of course, Grace didn't know this.) It might bother her, it might not. Cessily was used to it by now.
Figuring now it was her turn to introduce herself, she licked her lips, wondering briefly on how to do it. Landing with something along the lines of old-fashioned, she opened her mouth some, her voice coming out even and smooth. "Cessily." Well, perhaps not so outdated, but still. Noticing Jac smiling at her again, she stretched her own face into a smile, forcing as much nice-ness into it as she could muster. As in, no offense taken.

The Ravenclaw was deep in a book but even before Grace had said hello she was quick to look up. Grace assumed it wasn't a very interesting book. Grace's offered hand hovered for a moment, untaken, as the girl looked Grace up and down. She was reluctant to accept the greeting and Grace was about to retract her hand but she took her hand, shook it firmly. Grace returned to strong handshake and smiled. The girl, who introduced herself as Cessily, her hands were cold but Grace's were too so she didn't mind or mention it.
It was always lovely meeting new people, Grace though as she noticed the smile that looked foreign to the Ravenclaw's face. Grace cocked her head to one side, looking at the dark yet pale girl as though she were speaking Greek yet the ironic thing was that she didn't say anything at all, merely observed. Grace thought this very strange practice but she didn't want to say anything about that either. Grace would often see things that she wanted to ask about, find out more about, but she didn't want to seem impertinent so she kept her mouth shut and turned, in stead to Jac.
"Again at the books, I see?" Grace said teasingly. For as long as she had known Jac, she had always been in a book or three. Grace smiled at her and opened her own book. She had become so frustrated with Ancient Runes that she was now going to go through everything again, insuring her O in her N.E.W.T.'s. Ancient Runes was challenging and Grace liked that, she liked the fact that she didn't have all the right answers. "Cessily?" Grace said, looking up from her book, "you reading something interesting?"

Jac grinned broadly as Grace joined herself and the Ravenclaw at the table. She had almost forgotten she had company, getting so involved in her note-making and all. It was very easy for Jac to get lost while she was concentrating as she put herself into it whole heartedly. This was one of her more Hufflepuff attributes that made Jac such a miss match of houses it's a wonder she was put in any house at all. This though often past through her mind and made her smile. So as Jac was writing she was smiling at the arbitrary notes she made on how Muggles wash dishes.
Smiling now at Grace, Jac put down her quill and locked her fingers together, stretched her arms in front of her then swung them above her head and relaxed. She laughed and nodded, "yeah," she said lazily, "always am." She grinned at Cessily when she and Grace started speaking. Again, she picked up her quill and turned back to her notes.
