Cristian knew he had been acting strange around Ash recently, but nobody knew why. He didn’t want Ash to find out the suprise. He had not been seen around Hogwarts much the past month except for Classes, and had been acting a little jumpy when Ash crept up on him. He could see it probably looked like was having an affair, but that wasn’t the case at all, although he wouldn’t blame Ashton in the slightest if that’s what he thought. There were so many bad points to a suprise, but if the person who the suprise was for never found out, and the person throwing the suprise wasn’t so bad at lying, then things would always work out, and there would be no misunderstandings.
Getting lost in his thoughts, and fretting over everything that could go wrong with this delightful plan, he shook his head free of the doubts that was forcing their way through his mind. He wasn’t regretting doing this, nor did he think he ever would, but there were always worries that Ash would think it was all happening too soon or anything else that may pop up. There was also the factors of what Carolanne and Maxi may think, and whether they were bitter. He had since made up with the pair of them, but the situation was awkward, and always would be, no matter what happened.
Looking back down as he sat under the tree that Ash and Cristian first met, when he was dating Ash’s sister, he smiled and remembered that day well...It wasn’t long ago, and so much had happened since then. The whole drama with Laney and Maxi and Cristian finding them kissing in the Forest, then there was the arrival of his sister he never knew he had, and the short time they spent together before she died in that damn Forest. Geez, why did he even want to go within ten miles of that god-forsaken forest he’d never know. He missed his sister dearly, and felt he had lost everything at that time...A few months on, he was healing.
Finishing off the letter he was writing for Ashton to meet him at the Lake, he smiled and re-read it to make sure it was correct;
‘Ash,
I need to see you, I need to explain things to you about recent events, and why i’ve been acting a little funny around you. I cannot deny that I haven’t, because I have, and it’s time to tell you why. I hope you will come as soon as you get this, we need to talk face to face.

Satisfied with his letter, he folded it neatly and brought his finger to his mouth to give a big whistle. A tiny, dark brown speckled owl came swooping from the direction of the owlery, and Landed infront of Cristian, Placing the Letter in the beak of the winged beauty, he smiled and told him who to deliver it too. The bird swooped off and out of sight.
With the disapperance of the owl, he sat and waited, hoping Ash would come, and definately not just come to smack him in the face for thinking he cheated on him...Infact, he wished it was that easy! At least there wouldn’t be any secrets then. |

Ash walked along the corridors, wondering why Cris had been acting so strange lately. What if he's cheating on me? he thought to himself. But he knew that couldn't be true. Cris wouldn't cheat on him. Or would he? Suddenly an owl flew in front of him and dropped a letter into his hand. He opened it and read it, it was from Cris asking Ash to meet him by the lake and that he had something to talk to him about. The tears started streaming, "Oh my god, he's going to breakup with me." Ash sighed, and wiped the tears, he slowly made his way down to the lake, he saw Cris and approached him. "I got your letter." he said quietly, looking down at the ground.

Cris waited for what seemed hours, before noticing Ash was on his way. Standing up, Ash spoke and looked down to the Ground. Frowning a little, Cris pushed Ash's chin up so their eyes met.
"Ash, we've not been together long, and so much stuff has happened since we've been together..."

Cristian frowned along with Ash, he was unsure why, but it just happened. Maybe it was him not understanding...
"Well, what i'm saying is pretty hard for me...All my life, i've felt like i've been incomplete, empty. Just like something was always missing. When Alexa came along, a part of me felt a little more full, and things were getting better. And you, you complete me Ash, your the missing part of me. The part i've been searching for so long, the part that has never been present in me." he took a deep breath.
"What i'm trying to say, is now i've found you, I feel normal. Like i've finally found my family. Alexa may have gone, but she has filled that part of me longing to have a past family. At least I knew she existed, But with you, your my family now, and I hope you always will be. Things have always been so hard for me, but you make everything so easy. What i'm trying to say is..." he got down on one knee, pulling out a sapphire and diamond ring that he knew Ash would love. Sapphire to match his beautiful eyes.
"...Will you marry me?" |

Ash stood there, brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to make sense of what Cris was saying, “But with you, you’re my family now, and I hope you always will be. Things have always been so hard for me, but you make everything so easy.” Ash repeated Cris’ words in his head. Was Cris going to ask Ash to marry him? Of course Ash had always dreamed of this day, but he had never expected it to come so soon. Then, it happened. Cris dropped to one knee, and pulled out a stunning sapphire and diamond ring as he said those four small, yet life changing words. “Will you marry me?” Ash stood there in shock. He couldn’t believe this was actually happening! Finally, he overcame his shock enough to speak. “Yes, I will.” He said with a smile.

Cris's face changed from serious to a huge grin within seconds. Slipping the ring onto Ash's finger, he then stood up and kissed him.
"I'm so glad you said yes, cos if not I'd of been so embarrased" he laughed. Pulling Ash into a hug, he couldn't help but smile.
"So, how does it feel to be the future Ashton Martinez?"

Ash smiled as Cris slipped the ring onto his finger. He laughed when Cris said that he would be embarrased if Ash hadn't said yes. "Well actually I was a little embarrased myself. I have to admit, I guess I thought you were cheating on me or something." He blushed when Cris asked how he felt about being the future Ashton Martinez. "Um...I don't know? I'm still in shock to be honest." he replied with a laugh.
Ash hugged Cris tighter, snuggling into his chest. "So, when should we have the wedding?" He sighed, "There is one thing though...my dad..." He looked up at Cris, "What if he tries to stop us?" Of course Ash knew that his father was no longer in charge of him, or well he was, but still Ash was an adult. But that didn't mean that Ash wasn't still terrified of the man, because he was. Very much so.

"He doesn't have to know does he?" he asked, furrowing his brow. Sure enough, from what Ash had told him, his dad would go crazy if he ever found out, But Ash was old enough now, and he probably wasn't going to go back home after graduation anyway.

Ash thought for a minute. "Well, no. But he will find out eventually." He gave a smirk, "What are you suggesting we do, run away and get married in secret?" He pulled back slightly to look Cris in the eye, "And exactly how long have you been planning this?" he asked.

Ash stared in shock, "A month?" he asked increduously. He smiled when Cris said that even if Daniel did find out, it didn't matter. "True." he replied. He gave a small laugh when Cris said that no, they were not going to run away and get married. "Good, because to be honest, I really didn't want to run away."

Ash nodded, "True." he admited. He tightened his grip on Cris and sighed, "It's just, for once I'd like for him to see me as his son, not just someone he's responsible for." Ash knew of course that this was just wishful thinking, but hey, a guy can dream right? He sighed again, "Why can't he just accept me? I can't help who I am, why doesn't he understand that?"
