Akihiro sighed as he looked out at the lake, he had to admit, Hogwarts was beautiful, but nothing compared to the hustle and bustle of his beloved Tokyo. His knees drew up to his chest, and he wrapped his arms around them, resting his chin on them. He missed Japan so much. And his accent! Normally he loved it, but here, it seemed out of place, it made him feel like the weird kid. It was also annoying how he tended to stutter when he was nervous, or worse freeze up, and not be able to say anything at all.
Akihiro didn't want to be friendless, he was just too shy to talk to people, and to stand up for himself. No wonder he had been bullied at his old school in Kobe. No doubt he would be a prime target for Slytherins here, he had heard that they were the school bullies. Aki sighed and lay back on the soft green grass, if only he had someone to talk to, someone who understood how he felt. How scared he was.
Suddenly, Aki heard a noise behind him, he leapt to his feet, and turned, heart racing, eyes wide with fright and surprise he looked for whoever had made the noise. "Hello?" he called softly in his heavily Japanese accented voice. "Who is there?"

Sarie had seen the boy sitting in her spot. "Hello, are you knew?" She asked knowing how stupid it would sound. She had heard his accent. She thought it was rather cute. Different in a good way. "I'm Sarie Thimble. Mind if I sit with you?" She smiled at him he seemed shy and she wanted him to feel at home.

Akihiro looked up to see a young Gryffindor. He stared silently for a moment, before finally getting up the nerve to talk, "Um..okay." he said softly. Not looking to see if she actually sat down, he looked up at the sky, marvelling at how big it was. "Wow." he whispered silently to himself.

Sarie sat down then followed his gaze to the sky. "Big isn't? You never really looked at the sky before. Did you live in a city before coming here?" She did want to ask about his accent incase he was shy about it. She was staring up into the sky and not at him.

Akihiro nodded silently, still marvelling at the endless stretch of blue. "I'm from Tokyo, Japan." he replied quietly.

"Oh wow really I always wanted to go to Japan," She sighed. "I always wanted to see Osaka in the spring. Was it nice in Tokyo. I heard its really crowded." She wondered why he was here and not in a school in Japan. "What's your name? If you don't mind me asking." She wanted to friends with this boy he really seemed alone.

Akihiro stared at Sarie for a moment, wondering how someone could say so much in one sentence. "Tokyo's nice. It's huge. I went to a private boarding school in Kobe, but my grandparents who raised me, I'm an orphan, decided that I would be better off here." He gave a small smile, "My name is Akihiro Tanaka. I also go by Aki, Tanaka, and Akinaka. A combination of my first and last names."

"It's really nice to meet you." Sarie did an odd little bow while she was sitting. "I'm sorry about your parents. What year are you?" She muttered. She had heard that she was talking to much at once. She need to slow down. She didn't want to lose one of only chances she had to make friends. "Akihiro Tanaka," She tired to say it and messed it up. "Aki is good too. Sorry about messing your name up." She blushed.

Aki smiled shyly, "I am a sixth year. I don't really remember my parents to be honest."

Sarie didn't know what to say to this. She began to hum a tune her father used to sing to her. She wished she knew what to say something they both may like. "You play Quidditch at all?" She didn't want to talk about parents.

Akihiro shook his head, "No, I do not. I have enough trouble keeping my balance on ground, I'd be a nightmare on a broom! Do you play?"

"Well its had to explain. I'll try thought. There are three kinds of balls. There's the quaffle which is red and about the size of a foot or soccer ball. Which are handled by players call Chasers and they try to get it though 50 foot high hoops. Then there are 2 bludgers they are mean things the point of them is to knock as many players off their brooms thats why we have beaters. They keep the bludger at bay. The most important ball is the Golden Snitch. Which is about the size of a large walnut. Its really fast, some times hard to see. The golden snitch has to be caught in order for the game to end. The seeker has to catch the snitch to end the game. I play seeker for my team." She sighed. She wanted to write to Ian but she didn't know where he was. She didn't know if Aki would understand was she was saying without a vision of it.

Akihiro nodded, "I've heard of Quidditch, I just don't play. I'd prefer to stay on the ground, thank you!"

Sarie sighed she wasn't much of a talker. She still was lost in her own thoughts when she realized she had missed her him. "Sorry to bore you with the Quidditch speach I miss heard you. Yeah I play. I'm seeker but I'm not very good." She gazed out over the lake.

Aki gave a small smile and shrugged. "It's okay. I didn't mind. It's nice to just have someone to talk to."
