[ ninja nicole always keeps her promises ]
Mayella was in one of her moods where a good pick-me-up was necessary. Strolling into her old haunt, the Three Broomsticks, she took what used to be her usual seat at the bar all the way against the wall. Back when she was a somewhat renowned alcoholic in the Ministry, they used to say she had that spot so she had something to lean on when she slumped over. Of course, that was only a rumour and not true but she still smiled at the idea.
The tendor, catching site of her, did a little double take before laughing out loud and mentioning how long it's been since she was last there. As a ministry worker, quite different than the May of the present, not that she was going to point that out to him. "Mm, very true. I do hope you still remember my usual?" She said with a small smile she reserved just to toy with silly men. The man answered with a grin and promptly made up a quick G&T.
"Of course, Mayella. You're one of the few people to actually drink muggle drinks around here." He said, answering her question with the delay that she figured made his only job opportunity to be this one of mixing drinks for a bunch of old drunks. "Oh, really? Perhaps I'm just that special." She said and ended the short conversation with him. There were a lot of people she'd rather talk to and if she encouraged him, it would be at least an hour before he shut his trap.
Taking a sip of her rather weak drink, she turned to lean against the wall and get a better view of the pub. A few people sitting at a table near to her that seemed to her to have never left that seat in years chuckled and sent a few catcalls her way. To which she ever so politely replied with a not-so-nice finger. Yes, it was days like these that she enjoyed almost as much as sitting with her fellow teachers. May was a bit too well-rounded for her own good.
