Jane could see the mixed reactions from her class. Some seemed thrilled that she might die, others, seemed, worried, and some even doubted her sanity. But all was well, Jane knew what she was doing, I think....
"Oh, no dear, It's quite all right." She smiled at Jac. "I appreciate your concern Miss Biggerstall, but I have taken precautions. And Mr. Nish knows this class is being held and has agreed to stay in his office until the end of this period should anything go wrong. Which I doubt it will." Jane figured she should probably go over the precautions, seeing as though it might put her students to rest about her safety.
"Precautions." She said, pacing to the front of the line that had formed. "I will have my wand but only use it if things get out of hand. I know how to handle myself ladies and gents, so no worries. Not to mention, I've rigged the greenhouse roof to fly off with a simple simple unlocking spell, so if something happens to me, unlock the greenhouse walls, and the sun should do in big boy over here." Jane said with a smile.
"Ok now, the first person please step forward. Now I want all of you to produce a small blue bell flame and try and see if you can find this guy soft spot. Now only small ones, I want the whole class to have a chance. Don't go trying to save me. Points will go to those who work their hardest and use their logic."
"Now then." Jane said, stepping toward the plant. "Here I go, on three..two...one." Jane gave a flick with her wand and a small stunning charm emmitted from it and hit one of the Snare's tenticals. Immediatly, it went into action, not likely the stinging feeling. it grabbed Jane and twisted its tentacals around her tightly. Jane didn't struggle one bit. The tightness was very slow.
"See how I'm not fighting it." She yelled out. "It will go very slow, and if your spells work, it should let me go a little each time. Now Go!" Jane said, the tentacles getting uncomfortably tight.

The center.. All plants have a core, where the roots begin to spread out to get moisture from the earth. Aim for the center, aim for within. Erys Grace thought after a split second, thankful of her ability to think on her feet. No need to take her time, if this thing got to constrictive the professor'd just blow the roof off and burn baby, burn. Normally she'd say this was a pity, but Beckket was proving to be an exceptional Herbology teacher. Anywho!
Muttering the incantation, a small yet powerful blue flame appeared at the tip of her wand. Erys peered around the professor, searching for the center of the plant, where the tentacles were situated mostly. Unsure if she was doing this correctly, the Slytherin shrugged off the feeling anyway, moving forward and pointing her wand within that spot. The results, hopefully, would be a release from the plant. If not, well, then.. Damn.

"Come on, Come on." Jane said, keeping calm within the plants grasps. It was getting pretty tight. Her arms were pinned to her side. yet she grasped her wand tightly, making sure that she could still perform magic.
Miss Grace stepped up and performed the spell beautifully. The plant loosened its grip. "Perfect Miss Grace!I think that deserves 10 points!" Jane said, able to breath easier. Yet the plant had not been finished. Jane braced herself for more tightening, while she urged her students on. "Next please, hurry now!"

Via had been stood silently between the bodies of the other numerous amount of Students. She had been quiet up until now, but had been listening intentely. She loved Herbology and was determined to excel in it. Nature was her thing, and she loved it dearly. As Erys, a slytherin stepped up and performed the spell correctly, Via decided she too would be brave enough to face it in class. Manoeuvring herself around the students infront of her, she slid out from between them, her wand at the ready, and the incantation stuck in her head.
Giving a knowing nod over to the professor, who was now looking rather uncomfortable with the plants tenacles wrapped around her, Via outstretched her arm and pointed it at what looked like the central spot of the plant. Saying the incantation out loud, she felt a small vibration in her wand and a blue burst came from the end of her wand and hit the plant directly.

Sweat was beginning to form on Jane's forehead. The class didn't seem to enthusiastic to save her from the deadly plant. That worried her slightly. At least one student had stepped up, other wise she might have been plant food by now.
The tentacles were getting tighter and tighter. Not fidgeting around wasn't going to save Jane anymore. "Next, Next, hurry up!" She said, trying to sound calm. She was about to use her own wand, when a Hufflepuff stepped forward. "Brilliant, lets go now dear." She said, being able to force a smile.
She followed the blue flame and watched as it his the plant. "Wonderful!" She said with a sigh of relief, back to the start again. "10 Points to Hufflepuff! One more please, and then you'll be dismissed!" Hopefully it wouldn't take the next student that long to get some guts.
"Oh come on...free points, all you need to do is a little flame!" She said, trying to get her student excited. One more time and she would be free. ___________________________________________________

Post by Polaris Stormwrath on May 4, 2008 16:28:19 GMT
Polaris smiled as she slipped into the back of the classroom, unnoticed by anyone. She had heard every bit of detail and saw through the windows of the greenhouse, what had been going on. With Bi-coloured eyes, the animagus made her way up to the front of the class, her wand out and ready. "Professor Beckket, hope you don't mind the late intrusion!" She joked, her nordic accent quite noticable while she sported a wolfish grin.
Pointing the tip of the wand forward, Polaris softly spoke the incantation and watched as the small blue flame was produced at the end of her wand. With a small tap at what she gathered as the 'center point' of the plant, judging by the barely-noticeable scorch marks, the Ravenclaw grinned in delight. Hopefully, the reaction of the plant would be what the Professor had said. If not? Well then.. that's someone else's problem.

Slipping in after Polaris, Jason simply stood at the back of the classroom with his back resting against a supporting beam of the greenhouse. With calculating hazel eyes, the Slytherin took in all of the students figures and details in a matter of second. Feeling his stomach turn at all of the diversity of houses gathered in such a small area, he rested his hand on the butt-end of his wand; just in case. Filth.
Standing quietly, Jason watched as a 7th year Ravenclaw preformed the asked assistance of the Professor with a raised eyebrow. Just walks in and jumps right into action. Heh. Typical Ravenclaw. At least her spell work is executed perfectly. Erys could have done it a bit better, being a Slytherin and not be so unsure of herself... and that Hufflepuff.. not bad.

With the relaxation of the tentacles, Jane didn't mind Miss Stormwraths intrusion at all. She had guts and Jane respected that. Giving a slip as the plant relaxed, Jane landed softly on the ground, her wand slowing her fall. She brushed the wrinkles out of her dress and smile toward the class. "Ten points Miss Stormwrath." Jane said with a smile.
"Now you all saw how I just gentle slide out as the plant relaxed, I could have done that the first time, but I thought I'd give some extra points." Jane said with a wide smile, fixing her hair which had fallen out of its place. "Thats the trick of course, as it releases, just slip out. Just like that." Jane snapped her fingers.
Jane pointed toward the black board and the words erased and a new message appeared:
Questions on page 21. Essays on the Devil's Snare must be at least Five inches long! Have a Good Day!!
"Questions due next class. House points obviously for extra effort." Jane Whipped a spell at the plant, shrinking it back to its normal small size. It gave a little squeal, obviously it had enjoyed its time as a gargantuan monster. Jane smiled, and placed the box back overthe small plant and point her wand at the window covers, letting the bright sunlight in the green house.
"Enjoy the day, Class dismissed." Jane said, with a wide smile. "And try and be a little more active next class...." She said shouting out after her students as they walked out, a smile on her face, the first lesson over, and well done. _______________________________________________ Points: Hufflepuff: 20 Ravenclaw: 61 Gryffindor: 7 Slytherin: 27POINTS CLOSED!!!
