Dax slowly walked into the library trying to mix in with a bunch of fourth years, however he was a tiny bit taller then them. With a weak smile over at Miss Marsh Dax broke away from the group and slipped into a near by section and pretend to be looking at the books. However his mind was else where, he had arranged to met up with Sophie. Dax wanted to make sure that she was alright after there last meting but also simply to give him an opportunity to talk to one of his best friends. Although it needed to be done in secret.
Loren was very particular about when Dax could see Sophie, and she normally needed to be clinging on to his arm. He could not blame her really the topic had caused many problems over the year, however no matter how much Dax followed what ever Loren said there was something that he could not obey.
Trying to pretend he was not waiting for anyone Dax pulled out the closest book to him and opened it up somewhere in the middle. With a sigh he read over the faded words and ever few seconds would glance up to see if Sophie had arrived.

An irreplaceable smile lightened Sophie's features as she glided through the corridors, her smile genuine and wide enough to gladden the hearts of those she passed; meeting Dax wasn't the sole reason, though was quite a big contributor as he could always make her laugh, but also that quidditch was progressing well for once, the team was practising as often as they could; which admittedly wasn't all the hours God sent them, yet often enough to have the team working moderately well as a whole, and not a one man show as they had started out.
So with a glad heart Sophie walked serenely into the library smiling pleasantly at the librarian whom she'd grown to like just from their various greetings and few conversations; she seemed imanently knowledgeable. Looking from aisle to aisle she eventually found Dax down the last one she checked, rushing over she gave him a quick hug, deciding kissing him on the cheek would simply make matters uncomfortable, a hug was enough to set his cheeks burning.
"Hiya Dax," she greeted cheerfully, "been up to much recently?" Taking his hand she guided him quickly to a table, making sure it wasn't in plain view, or else he'd be continually darting glances towards the door, Loren really did have him on such a short leash.
"How are things between you and Loren? As amazing as ever I hope?" She asked quite keen to know, she really hoped she was treating him well, as good as he deserved at least, she really was lucky to have him.

Dax was still blushing when Sophie dragged them off to the table. He sat down quickly giving a nervous glance around the library dreading what people maybe thinking. It was almost a year ago when Dax had kissed Sophie, when Loren had told him she loved him, he had the duel with Will, that everything fell apart. Once he was satisfied that no one around them really cared he began to feel slightly more comfortable.
“Yeah I am good, things are good. Loren is well…I get the impression tense with the tournament and all, but also still a bit preoccupied about what happened with Hubbles. I dare not ask her anything about it as I do not want to irate her.” Dax looked down at the table and was lost in his thoughts for a moment. Slowly looking up he decided to pass the conversation over onto Sophie. “You seem in a rather happy mood Soph, what have you done this time? No wait let me guess….you filled Will’s hat full of custard again.”
Dax gave a snigger as he thought about the last time they had pulled the prank. Dax had sneaked into the Gryffindor common room and they had sat in hiding waiting for the moment Will pulled the hat on. The look on his face was a picture and all he can remember after that is running down towards the entrance hall being chased by a furious Will. Those were the fun days, when they had nothing to worry about other then what they could do to entertain themselves next.

Sliding quickly into her chair Sophie took a sheave of parchment from her bag followed swiftly by a large leather bound book; Leading from the front. It contained vital advice upon being a leader; a duty she had been given as Quidditch captain. Notcing Dax's look of incredulity she commented wryly, "I can multi task you know, it's something girls are very good at."
Beginning to scribble notes down to place it firmly in her memory she responded lightly "yeah I can imagine Loren is tense, she's a lot on her plate at the minute, but she'll pull through the tournament with flying colours; after Jac soundly beats her of course." She stated confidently riding over his defending comment.
"We'll see what happens won't we?" She spoke with finality showing the topic was firmly closed; hearing about how Loren would win the tournament wasn't high on Sophie's list of priorities, though she had to add, "I was dead shocked about what Hubbles did, I'd ask you to tell her how sorry I am, but I'm guessing you haven't told her we'll be meeting?"
Smirking as Dax recalled the hilarity of the custard incident Sophie smirked, "that was sooo funny, he's never gone so red in his life, went completely ballistic I remember, it was his best robes though." She commented mockingly with a grin.
"But no I haven't pulled a prank, it's quidditch practice, it's going really well, we're becoming more of a team now, I can't imagine us winning the cup, but still it's nice to dream really." Grinning delgihtedly Sophie curled her hair absentmindedly between her fingers, whilst she wrote out how to order people about effectively without anarchy.

Dax lowered his gaze at the mention of the incident with Hubbles, he hated it when people brought it up as he knew that if he stuck up for Loren somehow Professor Hubbles would find out and give him hell and if he stuck up for Dan then the same thing would happen but possibly Loren walking away from him. He did not want to ruin everything he had with her, and merely sitting here in the library with Sophie was pushing that. Trying to shrug the topic off Dax gave Sophie a small smile.
“That is in the past, it is the future that we have to look forward to. Loren is about to leave school, my apprentice will be over and we can look forward to a new life together away from Hogwarts.”
Dax drifted off into a miniature dream, his eyes glazed over and as he stared over Sophie’s shoulder. He thought about life afterwards and how they would live, what would he be doing with his life. He had never thought about that but one tings for sure working in an office was not for him. Sophie’s laugh snapped him back into reality and he laughed lightly to try and seem like he had been listening to her. He then suddenly realised that Sophie was the same age as Loren and will be leaving school to. As he started at her face a smile filled his face and he leaned forward resting his elbows on the table and grinned at the Gryffindor keen for her answer.
“Sophie what are you doing after you finish? You’re a very organised person so you must have some idea of what you are doing.”

Realising Dax didn't want to go into any detail whatsoever about the Loren/Hubbles incident as she had quaintly dubbed it, Sophie decided it was best not to push the matter, if he needed someone to confide to then she was of course more than willing, but she wouldn't be pushy, so she agreed wholeheartedly. "Good plan there, you never were one for planning but maybe you're maturing?" She asked with a knowing smile, "I doubt it somehow." She added cheekily with a grin.
Though Sophie was busily scribbling down perfunctory notes upon being the best leader she could possibly be; something about leading by showing a shining example, she didn't fail to notice Dax's dazed rather far off expression, she'd was about to point out his gormless face jokingly when he asked the inevitable question her notes were important but compared to this they could wait; excitement overrunning she dropped her quill with a widening smile and small laugh, "well I'm glad you asked that, first off I'd thought why not try out a bit of writing, like Uncle Fitz, but I don't think I've quite got that nasty edge needed. Not that he's got a nasty edge, but, well you know what I mean." Giggling she continued, "so then I thought about getting a plain office job, paper pushing but I'd be bored out of my mind, so I'd soon give that up, being an Auror is completely out of my league but I could still join the Ministry."
Lowering her vocie to a conspiratorial whisper she added, "I know some people think they're all bad and evil, but I've nowhere else to go really, and they really aren't all nasty pieces of work. I mean Dad works there and he says his colleagues are amazing, really nice and kind. I think it might suit me really, what do you think Dax?" She asked making sure he was paying avid attention rather than daydreaming; about Loren most likely, he really was infatuated, it was cute to an extent but he still had to make time for others and more importantly himself, doting on her constantly wouldn't help, but then again knowing Dax like she did he could just as likely be planning some hair brained scheme of a prank; he'd never grow up. At least she hoped not.
