"I'd hardly call what they did starting it," Caitlin said in a dreary tone. She had been circling the large boil at the end of the kitchen for a while and had become increasingly worried about the standard of respect at the school. She floated over to the throng and smiled sadly at everyone. The two boys that looked alike might have deserved what they got but to do something like that in front of a teacher and get away with it...
Caitlin shook her head, bobbed up and down through the table she had floated into. "I would have thought that her behaviour would have been rebuked and some points would have been taken from the perpetrator, Professor." It was politely said and she smiled at the Ravenclaw in question. "As far as I know the rule for 'no jinxing other students' is still in practice. Is it not?" She looked at all now, waiting to be contradicted. She simply wanted to stick with the rules and help out. If the professor had forgotten, he would remember now.

A slim bengal cat entered the room after listening to the drama from the hallway, pausing in its tracks to stare shocked at the Slytherin boys with the beaver teeth. Relaxing once they had been removed, it hissed at the perpetrator, stretching out a paw to wave its claws threateningly at her. Brushing up against the twins with a loud purr, she weaved herself through their legs and away, pinpointing where to sit. Agreeing completely with the ghost's irritation at the lack of respect, the feline seemed to roll her eyes, hopping up on a clean table with nothing on it. Now, for the moment of truth, she would reveal her animagi self to everyone in the room. She was only doing this so that brat Ivan Thatcher didn't have anything to use against her, since he had happened to find out near the lake while pretending to sleep in a bush. Only having to concentrate for a moment, Erys Grace was soon there, her legs dangling off the table where she perched. "You got that right, miss ghost." She agreed, aware of the possibility of surprised looks yet not really caring. "She should be docked, professor." Reaching for an apple while shunning the potatoes, she breathed on it, rubbing the fruit against her shirt before taking a generous bite.
The prefect should consider herself lucky she reversed the spell, or there would be trouble. Nobody jinxed a Slytherin without having the whole house on their butt. "Hexing infront of a teacher.. Tsk tsk." Erys remarked casually, staring directly at the girl with a disapproving expression. "Did the nasty Ravenclaw girl hurt you?" She asked the twins with a snicker, ready to claw eyes out if need be. They were just kids! She should learn more self-control. Feeling her fingernails threaten to sharpen themselves, Erys took a deep breath, whirling on the felon. "Whats your problem? Back in medieval days, accepting a kiss on the hand meant that you were beautiful. Are you saying you're ugly?" She couldn't agree more with that. Her attitude sucked. She had no right to dock Slytherin because they complimented her. If anything, she should be honored. Cut the powertrip and quit trying to impress somebody old enough to be your father. Erys thought, fighting back her laughter - without it showing even the slightest - to stare coldly within the eyes of the girl.

Caitlin crossed her legs and floated downwards so that it looked like she was sitting on the table, even though she had a goblet sticking out her back. She smiled gaily at the cat that came in. Though she was not a cat person, Lin would much rather come across a cat then a dog, and for her to admit while she takes the form of a dog was quite something. She had stopped lying to herself about how she felt about things many many moons ago.
The cat perched itself on the table a way off from where she was and changed into a person. Caitlin wasn't surprised in the lease and continued to look doe-eyed at the Slytherin. "Ms MacGrimm," she informed the Slytherin, "Caitlin if you will. Formalities are for the living." She said this very dryly and was unaware that in the group, she was the minority and many there had to conform to formalities.

Her pink paw pads smacked against the ground as Veata quickened her pace at the sound of loud voices bashing from the kitchen. Erys' scent, which she had been following around the school since she had seen her transform into her animagi form, led straight into the cofuffle. Groaning inwardly and wrinkling her small, white snout, V continued on, slipping through the doors of the kitchen, entering the battlezone.
The sight she walked in upon was mindblowing. The Parkhurst twins of Slytherin, which she had known about since she came to Hogwarts (and immediately taken a liking to due to stories of their antics), were wide-eyed, sporting extremely large teeth. Nearby, a pissed-off looking Ravenclaw, with a Prefect badge pinned on her robes, standing near a Professor, none the less. Obviously she was the cause of all this. Ravenclaws were ruder than they had a right to be.
But worst of all, out of the entire scheme, was Erys. She had entered the room in cat form, her scent said that much. With wide blue eyes Veata looked up, and there she was, sitting human as could be, on a table... eating an apple! Aggrivated and no longer caring who saw her animagus self, V concentrated, transforming back to her regular self, and pointing an accusing finger at Erys.
"You get mad at me for helping Ivan when he knew our secret?" She hissed, white teeth bared. "And then go and transform in front of four people? What game are you playing, Erys Grace?"[/font]

Slipping her hand inside her robes to fasten her fingers around her wand, Erys narrowed her eyes, waiting for the moment to whip it out and protect herself. Keeping one eye on the prefect, she let the other fall on the ghost. "Caitlin then." She nodded, smiling, "Im Erys." Barely having enough time to introduce herself before Veata burst in here in another one of her pissy moods, Erys jut her chin out slightly, standing tall. "I dont play games, Veata." She replied, her voice firm, "I dont trust him, and I dont have a hell of clue why you do." It was downright boggy, how two-faced people could be these days, "That secret gave him something to use against me. So I decided it wouldn't be a secret any longer." Miss Bane had revealed herself to everyone here as well. Keeping a firm grip on her wand in case somebody decided to try something, Erys held a determined eye, focusing back on the snotnosed prefect. What did you have to say for yourself, hm? Thank god you're leaving next year, I couldn't stand you for another term.. She thought, the words a roar in her head. The poor Parkhurst twins.. Veata had no reason to trust Ivan, being the one who tied him up and nearly lit him on fire in the first place.
Discarding the apple in a nearby trash bin, the Slytherin girl narrowed her eyes, staring coldly at the prefect. A multitude of curses sprung into her head, and hexes that might put Miss High-and-Mighty in her place, but Erys decided it was all in good time. Judging by her unstable temper, the Ravenclaw might just jinx her for what she said in the twins' defense.

Post by Aidan and Derryl Parkhurst on Aug 12, 2007 11:39:11 GMT
Aidan and Derryl were hanging onto each other because they were laughing so hard. When the Ravencalw threatened them with bigger teeth, octopus tentacles, and pimples and warts they looked wide eyed at her.
'Wo could do vat?' Aidan asked, half excited, half amazed.
'Vat would be soo cool,' Derryl said and looked at his brother, wide eyed with expectation.
But alas, the Ravenclaw resized their teeth and didn't do anything else. 'Aw,' the twins moaned in unison. They had so been looking forward to seeing all that the Raven had promised. But their sadness at the let down was short lived when a ghost glided to them and started on at the professor. The twins looked at each other with great big smiles on their faces.
And their amazement at that was short lived too, when a beautiful cat came into the kitchen and changed into a person, a Slytherin person at that. The twins immediately began clapping and cheering. 'Well done,' Aidan cheered while Derryl put his fingers in his mouth and whistled. They had never seen anyone change like that.
When she asked if the Raven had hurt them, the twins' faces fell. 'No,' they said down hearted, 'she wouldn't even give us tenticles.' They were truly upset by this. When the Slytherin spoke again the twins began laughing again. This Slytherin, who introduced herself as Erys, was definitely someone they could enjoy being around. Then another cat came in and changed into a Slytherin much like Erys had.
To twins stared, wide eyed, at the two and in unison said, 'coool!' They were very impressed. Ignoring their banter, the twins ran up to them and looking from the one to the other, large grins that made them look rather dim upon their faces. 'How'd you do that?' they said together, looking expectant and curious.

{ Heh.. Veata can change into a cat too, guys. Not a dog. }
Still keeping her wand pointed at the prefect but turning her head to face the twins, Erys grinned and bowed. She had always liked the Parkhurst twins. Their pranks were unique and imaginitive, plus, those boys took delight in nearly everything. "Good." The Ravenclaw should thank her lucky stars she didn't do anything else to them, or she might've had a prime duel on her hands. Something that Erys herself wasn't opposed to right now. Lowing her wand while still keeping it locked within the tight grip of her fingers, the Slytherin focused her attention on the boys, glancing only once or twice in the older girl's direction to catch the raising of her wand. Erys and Veata were more skilled at magic than the twins were; they could easily fire back a jinx or two.
Nobody but Slytherin knew how hard it was, being in that house. It was clearly the most difficult one to be in, and the professors who were in there agreed by a landslide. You were confronted with extreme prejudice, without getting the chance to prove yourself better or not. Constantly mocked by Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, the only house which provided slight relief was Hufflepuff, who were too nice for their own good. If you were a Slytherin younger-year, you were the target for pranks and bullying. Because of this, Erys looked out for her own. She would not stand for this type of behavior, be it completely uncalled for or not. Why, if somebody called her beautiful, it was highly unlikely for her to hit them with a hex. You were to thank them, not hurt them. Or try to, anyway.
"Im an animagus." Erys explained, leaving space for Veata to add in her status too, "You've probably heard of it, but its an extremely difficult talent train for. I was tutored a year and a half ago." Which is why she was so good at it now, changing into a Bencal cat and all. "Theres a class at Hogwarts, or so I've heard." But according to that professor's instructions, you had to be phenominal in Transfiguration, and suggested to the Animagi class by the teacher. These boys seemed very impressed, which pleased her greatly, causing her to grin once more.

((Whoops. I made a big assumption there. Sorry. Fixed it though.))
Aidan and Derryl gazed up at the two Slytherins, proud that such talent lay in their house, their eyes wide intrigue. 'Anamigi ... anamige ... ana ...' Aidan tried. Derryl nudged Aidan with his elbow and rolled his eyes to him.
'Don't hurt yourself, Aid,' Derryl said, 'it's animagus. And they're shapeshifters.' Derryl, though very related to his brother, was not that much like his brother that he lacked the capacity to grasp common wizarding terms. 'It's really hard, I've heard, Uncle Rianer apparently lost his mind trying to transform. It was awful. Destroyed the whole reception. Apparently. We weren't there, we weren't there yet.' Derryl added this last explanation for his brother's sack because he looked very confused.
'Oh,' Aidan said and frowned thoughtfully though there was little going on in his head. 'So a year and a half, ay. How's it that it took you that long?' For Aidan any amount of time that he couldn't fit between meals was too long. Derryl sniggered at his brother and looked back to Erys, waiting to see how she took this question.

Still slightly angry, Veata put on the bestt smile she could, fingers slipping around the wand in her robes as she bowed to the twins. Those two were quite the pair, chasing girls around the school, pulling pranks. Rather intelligent, if you asked her. Veata, if the victim of one of their 'lets get a girl' ploys, would probably give them a kiss on the cheek just as a reward for trying so hard. They deserved something besides big teeth and threats of tentacles, even if they did enjoy it.
Slender fingers retrieved the wand she had been rummaging in her robe's pockets for, and she aimed it cautiously at the Ravenclaw, as Erys had, in case she tried anything else. Whatever matter Erys transforming in front of others brought up, they could deal with that later, on their own. Right now, the battle between houses raged, and Veata wasn't about to stand, whining about her petty problems, while younger of her house were threatened.
"Yes, boys, it's quite dangerous to transform from beast to humanoid." She explained in a calm voice. "Hats off to Erys for keeping her human thoughts while in cat form, even I have the urge to catch a mouse or two."

Caitlin had gone quiet. She had become mesmerised by a drop of water that was playing on the wall above an air shaft. It went jerkily up and jerkily down and to the right and to the left and it fell a bit and it went back up. Caitlin mimicked it's movement as she hovered above the table, legs crossed. She had a dull smile on her face that almost looked like a smirk.
When she eventually looked back at the living there, she frowned. Two had their wands out, pointing them at the unscrupulous Ravenclaw who had unjustly attacked the twins. They seemed nonplussed by the traumatic experience for they were enchanted by the two animagi, of which they were talking about.
"It helps being dead though," Caitlin added absently, once again staring at the drop clinging to the wall. "Means that whether you loose your mind or not, it makes no difference. People will still gawk at you, though perhaps a little more it you went around drooling all over the castle that didn't wet the floors." Cait looked up from the drop, dull eyes falling on the two animagi. "And don't worry about the urges. I still get the urge to chase a cat every now and then."
