A lesson to be remembered. That was what Brianna O'Donnell aimed for. She was not sure how well this fascinating creature would go down but she trusted the students would take what she threw at them. So, there she stood, her teaching robes on, with the desks out stretched in front of her facing her, her desk and the board. It was a simple enough set up and she felt that it gave the unused classroom a more lived in feel, having no more dust and the high windows open.
Upon the desk was sitting a storm gray cat-looking creature with coal-black spots and overly large ears and eyes that shone like obsidian. It sat and, like Bree, watched the class. On the boar behind then both and the desk was written:
Professor Brianna O'Donnell Take a seat That was all that the students needed to know at that point and Bree waited.
Points: Ravenclaw: 13 Hufflepuff: 45 Gryffindor: -2 Slytherin: -1 (points for putting your name on the roster and attending. Points off for putting your name down and not attending)

Felicity skipped into the room, her books clutched in her hands. With a glance around the room, she noticed she was the first person in here. Wow, that was a first. "Mornin' Professor." Fay walked over to a desk and plopped her books down. She took her seat soon after. Felicity chose a seat slightly farther in back, she liked it better that way.
Her attention was drawn to the thing sitting on the table. It looked so cute. She wanted to run up and hug it, but that wasn't really part of the lesson plan. At this point Bray would probably roll her eyes at her and Bry would look at the thing with the same large eyes that she had. Felicity forgot to check if her friends had signed up for the class. Dang.

Nikole entered the room and looked around. Her eyes immediately fell on the creature sitting on the teacher's desk. A cat? No, large ears. It had to be a kneazle. Nikole immediately took a seat in the back of the room as she looked at the creature. Animals were never very fond of her, especially magical ones.
The only class she ever studied for was this one, and she still didn't do well, because dealing with animals had never been her strong point. She got her book and such ready and sat waiting for class to begin. The sooner it began the sooner it would be over. Carefully, she watched the thing that sat on the teachers desk.

Post by Girty Hubbles on Jan 5, 2008 18:16:03 GMT
The sun was moving across the sky and Girty wondered down one of the many corridors in Hogwarts on the way to class. It was the same route she took every week to this lesson, same route she talk to most of her lessons and over the past 7 years very little changes. You see the same people at the same time in the same place and even the paintings give up talking to you after a while. However this time there was on change, she was going to a lesson with a new teacher and unlike most of the Care of Magical Creatures lessons it was in a classroom, which was not always a bad sign.
Pushing open the door Girt saw Professor O’Donnell waiting at the front with a cat like creature on the desk. Her first thought was how strange to have a normal looking creature in the room, but as she thought about it the creature did not look like any other cat. With a small smirk Girty found herself a desk and slid into it before leaning back on her chair refusing to take her eyes off the creature.

Libbi walked through the corridors of Hogwarts. Hogwarts was almost a sacred place for her it was the school of which Hogsmeade was a part of. Hogsmeade the place her mother gave birth to her.Libbi had not expected that this class: Care of Magical Creatures was in a classroom, why couldn't they go outside. Outside where birds are singing and herbs are really breathing.
Libbi couldn't change it so she walked in the classroom at said 'Hi Professor.'She looked around and noticed two Ravenclaws and one Hufflepuff, she was going to create an equilibrium. She liked the word, although it was kinda hard. Libbi sat down next to the other Hufflepuf. Libbi introduced herself with a squeeky voice as she was a little bit scared of older students.'Hello, I am Libbi Puddifoot, and who are y-y-you?'Gosh, why did she just stammer?

Humming to herself Girty looked around the classroom just as another Hufflepuff walked in. Putting her chair on all four legs she watched as unsurprisingly the girl headed over to sit by her looking slightly nervous and this was something that Girty never liked to see. The mere idea that she could make another student and a Hufflepuff at that uncomfortable never made her happy mainly as Girty liked to believe she had a personality that meant everybody liked her, however in reality this was not the case. As she introduced herself Girty grinned and even though Libbi was sitting next to Girty still felt the urge to give her a small wave before introducing herself.
“Girty Hubbles.” It was a very short answer and as she thought about it she suddenly felt extremely rude for not saying anything else. “It is a pleasure to meet you Libbi.”
That had been extremely formal and not normally something would say but there you have it, it had been said and there was not much she could do about it. So Girty just smiled and looked on at Libbi giving the occasional glance over at Professor O’Donnell and the creature sitting on her desk.

Post by Marcus Conway on Jan 6, 2008 21:34:25 GMT
Marcus had heard that Care of Magical Creatures was lots of fun and as he made his way to the class room he could hardly keep from running. Eventually he was running and ran, skidding right past the door. As he tried to turn he lost his balance and tumbled to the ground, his glasses flying through the open door. 'Sprinklers,' he hissed, before lunging himself onto his hands and knees and scuttling forward.
This was how he entered the class, on all fours, feeling around for his glasses. The tip of his fingers knocked against the glass but knocked them father away. Scurrying a little farther, Marcus' hand connected with his glasses again. He picked them up and slid them onto his face, seating himself onto his haunches. He looked up, again able to see, and saw the face of a towering and slim woman. He quickly stood up, dusting himself off, and blushed terribly. 'Sa-sa-sorry, Professor,' Marcus stumbled and moved to a desk near the front.

Brianna watched as students strolled and crawled into her class. She smiled as she usually did and kept her firm stance. She heard the kneazle purring behind her and she looked over her bony shoulder at it. She couldn't believe that such a creature that is so different from cats would imitate such a simple behaviour as purring. Such a display merited a reward and Bree unfolded her arm and reached a hand out, scratching him behind the ear with two long fingers.
Light chatter broke out amongst the students and O'Donnell liked the sound. It died slowly and Bree turned back to the class just in time to see a small red headed boy crawl into her class. She watched him with shining amusement on her face, in her smile and in her eyes. When the small boy, who she assumed was the first year who signed up for her class, looked up at her and was very nervous she had to laugh.
"It's quite alright, Conway," the tall Professor chuckled joyfully and smiled as the boy scurried to a desk. "Well, ladies," Brianna said addressing the greater majority of the class, "I'm sure you'll be wanting to move closer, the details are easier to see when you don't have to strain your eyes." She gave a playful smile to the two Claws and two Huffs.

Libbi looked around if there were any other ''two Claws and two Huffs''. She saw nobody."That must be me."She smirked. Libbi sighed and grabbed her bag and walked to a desk in front of the class. She sat down, again. She stared intensely looking at the thing,or she had to think 'creature'. She recognized it,it had a great similarity to her cat.It wouldn't be here if it was a cat,or maybe..

Nikole's eyes widened for a moment as the teacher said they should move closer to the front of the room. She glanced nervously from the kneazle to the professor. Never in her life had Nikole not done as a teacher asked, but this time she shook her head slightly. "Umm...I think I will learn just fine from right here," she said unable to hide the nervousness in her voice as she eyed the creature on the desk.
"My eyes aren't strained. I assure you. I can see the kneazle quite clearly." Her eyes strayed reluctantly from the animal to the professor. She managed a small smile even though she knew it had to look awfully nervous. Being closer to the thing on the desk was definately not something that Nikole wanted.

Felicity hopped out of her seat, clearly pleased to get close to the creature. She noticed Nikole's hesitation, and turned over to walk over to her. "Come up with me please?" Fay held out her hand, grinning at Nikole. "You helped me, now it's my turn. Come on, face your fears right?"
Fay glanced back over to the Kneazle, her curiosity sparking. It was so interesting. This class surely was her favorite, learning about all of the different kinds of animals and such. She grinned at the thing, before turning back to Nikole, her hand still raised. "Plus it's easier to sketch it when I can see it more clearly."

The Professor was pleased to see such willingness to move to the front. She had found, over the years, that students didn't like to be near the teacher during a class. She had never understood it herself but didn't even think on it when most of the students moved. She did, however, notice one of the Ravenclaw's had not moved. Bree listened to the girl's case and smiled.
As Locke spoke kindly to Talley, Bree turned and looked over her shoulder at the kneazle on the desk. He was still purring, looking interestedly at the students in the class. He wasn't showing the usual signs of distrust and this would be the first lesson of the class. Clasping her hands behind her back, Brianna walked to where Talley and Locke where. "Talley?" she said, keeping her eyes on the kneazle. "What do you know about the creature on the desk and how they react to certain people?" Bree assumed that she and all others knew that he was a kneazle but she was testing that too.

Post by Kendal Montgomery on Jan 12, 2008 22:39:15 GMT
First thing she did that morning was check her schedule to see what classes she had that day. Yes it was a daily ritual and she should probably know it by heart by now, but she had been so frazzled lately that she forgot the simplest things. She was too bogged down but other issues. The white paper held tightly in her left hand her brown eyes scanning it checking time, and day. Finding just what she needed she saw today was Care of Magical Creatures. A sigh of relief washed over her, nothing too difficult.
Stepping into the room she didn't even bother saying anything since the words on the board stated she should just sit down. The cat on the professors desk seemed to be watching them all. Cats loved to watch, Kendal should learn to watch as closely as they do perhaps if she did she'd do better in school. Crossing one leg over the other she readied herself for whatever they'd be doing that day. All she wanted was something interesting, glad this wasn't Arithmancy or Astronomy she felt a bit more confident in here.
Parchment and quill out she slid her legs so they were on the side of the desk, then she crossed one leg over the other waiting for things to begin.

Ellie walked into the classroom, dragging her feet on the stone floor. She didn't want to be here. It wasn't the professor, Professor O'Donnell was quite nice, but Ellie didn't like her all that much. It wasn't the Professors fault. Ellie hated Care of Magical Creatures with all her might.
It had been an accident that she had sighed up for CoMC this year. She had suffered through it for two previous years, and she hadn't intended to suffer through it again. However, a misprint on her schedule got her stuck in the dreaded class again.
Ellie slumped into the furthest seat from the back, wondering why everyone was so far forward. All she knew is that she wasn't going to get any closer to the animal sitting on the Professor's desk. It looked like a plain ordinary cat. Nevertheless, Ellie wasn't going to underestimate any animal. They didn't like her and because of this, she didn't like them. Ellie sat in her seat, wringing her fingers, waiting for something bad to happen. It always did.

Bree was watching the kneazle on the table carefully. Though highly intellegent and perseptive, Bree knew that they were unpredictable and this gave triple star rating with the Ministry. Keeping this in mind, Bree stood behind the two Ravenclaws watching them and the cat-like creature. As she looked back to the two girls, awaiting an answer two Hufflepuffs came in in quick succession. Bree watched the two find there places, both also seeming reluctant to come near to the creature in from.
The Professor, hands still behind her back, moved forward a step and slimed at the two. "Welcome, ladies," she said, looking from the one to the other, then forward, "thank you for joining us." She wasn't going to push the moving but the details would be lost on those not near to the front.
"Someone, anyone, tell me what you think the creature is on the desk." She looked at the people behind her first, those reluctant to be close to an intellectual feline creature, to those who had moved and could see the spots on the fur.
