There Kit sat on one of the tables sitting in the Kitchen. He had been staring at the same page for quite some time now and still couldn't understand it completly. What did it all mean? He hated it, he hated everything about it... even the name: Transfiguration. What was so special about turning something into another something. He even hated the teacher for some reason, probably because she taught the class. Reed... who was this Reed? Arabella's sister is dating a Reed, he thought to himself.
Kit watched the house elves for a while as they scampered around trying to make him some lemon-peppered chicken. "Yum," he thought aloud.

Rikki yawned as she walked into the kitchen, her sharp ears detected the sound of a voice. Turning, her honey-gold eyes fell upon a Gryffindor boy about her age. Smiling she walked towards him, every step smooth, liquid grace. Her raven hair tumbled down her back and shoulders like a waterfall of midnight. "Hey." she said in her soft breathless voice, golden eyes sparkling.
"I'm Erika. Erika McCallister. But you can call me Rikki. Never seen you around here before." She commented as she took a seat next to the boy. An elf came up, and asked what she wanted to eat, "Hmm... do you have any cookies?" she asked,
"Oh yes Miss! Lots of cookies! Chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar, snickerdoodles, and even some with macadamia nuts all the way from Hawaii miss!" squeaked the little elf. Erika laughed, it was a slightly musical laugh, almost like the tinkling of bells as a horse pulls its sleigh.
"I'll take a little bit of each if you don't mind." She replied.
"Coming right up miss!" the little elf scampered off, and Erika turned back to the boy.
"It's so relaxing being down here." she said.

Kit turned the page finally in the book when he heard an unfamiliar voice. He looked up to see a raven in Human form. Dark, yet beautiful. He gulped as she sat down, "Uh, Hey. I'm Kristopher, well, Kit actually," he responded. He looked at the House elf as he named off the cookies they had. Before he ran off Kit asked him politly, "Can I please get some chocolate chip cookies with the little m&m's?" he asked. The house elf simply nodded his head and bowed low.
Kit looked back at Erika and nodded in half agreement, "Yeah, I suppose it is. But in my words, it's not exactly relaxing, more like the quietest place in the castle," he said.

Erika laughed. "Yeah, it's alot better than the corridors! That's for sure!"

Kit nodded in agreement, "Yeah it is," he simply said. He looked at the house elf as he came back with a platter of his lemon-peppered chicken and another plate full of cookies. With a goofy grin he took both plates. He gave the one full of cookies to Erika except he stole the cookie he had asked for.
Kit then set the plate with his food in front of him. He looked at the book in front of him, picked it up, and tossed it behind him with ease. "So, what are you doing down here at this hour?" he asked her as he broke off a peice of his cookie first and stuck it into his mouth. Once he swallowed it he continued, "I mean, I don't think you came here just for cookies, did you?" he asked with a genuine smile.

Erika smiled, "No. Not really." she admitted. "Not sure why I came in here..."

Kit gave a mischievious grin, "I know why," he said as he took another bite of his cookie, "It's cause you were drawn to me," he said trying to keep a strait face. Kit's attempt to be serious failed him and he burst out in laughter for a moment. Once he regained control of himself he looked at her, "You're not eating your cookie," he said looking at her.
He didn't know why he was being this weird, he was random but not this random. Maybe it's cause he hadn't been alone with a girl since the "Karit" days ((Kit and Ari)). He looked at her and gave her smile before finishing off his cookie. "So, Erika," he said unsure of what to say next, "Um, yeah, I'm not too well around girls so please excuse my odd behavior," he stated truthfully.

Erika laughed. "Keep dreamin' I've already got my eyes set on another!" She shrugged. "It's fine. I'm not too well around people."

Kit laughed, "I was just kidding. Besides, I have my eyes on someone else too, though I'm not so sure she feels the same," he said with a nervous chuckle. Kit looked at the chicken he still had sitting in front of him, "Suddenly I'm not so hungry," he said pushing it away.
He looked around the room to find his book. Once spotting it, he pulled out his wan, "Accio," he said before the book came flying back at him. He looked at it and sighed, "I'm never gonna understand this stuff," he said more to himself.

Erika leaned over to look at Kit's work. "Whatcha workin on?" she asked, as she picked up a peanut butter cookie from the tray.

Kit slide the book over more so Erika could see it a little better, "Transfiguration. I'm terrible at it," he said with a slight laugh. "I don't know how I'll ever pass it," he stated running a hand through his highlighted hair.

Erika laughed no doubt giving Kit a split second glimpse of her fangs. "I never was good at it myself." she admitted it. "I'm an astronomy nut."

Kit laughed, "Well, I'll make sure to come to you if I ever need help in Astronomy. I myself and I fan of History. Doesn't matter what kind, Muggle, Magic, Art, Literature. You name it," he said.
Kit caught a glimpse of Rikki's fangs and his smile grew, "I didn't know you were a vampire?" he said fasinated. "My cousin is Half-Vampire. He doesn't thirst for blood but he loves hunting for the rush. He usually catches his pray and lets them go," Kit shrugged, "They don't know what he is. They figure he was just a kid following them," he laughed. "If only they knew."
Kit shook his head, "I'm sorry. It's just that, I mean, I'm not afraid by it or anything. Crap. I'm just gonna stop for right now. I'm only making myself seem more of an arse," he said with a nervous laugh. After a moment of being silent he spoke again, "I guess what I was trying to say was, that's awesome."

Rikki grinned. "Yeah, I'm part Vampire, part Siren. Apparently I've had the traits my whole life, but they didn't become dominant until my sixteenth birthday last year." She sighed, "And unfortunately, I do have to have blood to survive. But don't worry, I have a stash in hidden away in my dorm. So you don't have to worry about me coming after you!" she laughed. "History of Magic huh? Can't really say I'm fond of that one either. But then again, I'm pretty picky, so..."

Kit laughed, "I'm not exactly worried about you coming after me. And if you did, I'd ask you only to take enough to where I'll still be alive. I've heard I taste good," he said jokingly. Kit shrugged, "Everyone's picky in their own way. I don't like alot of classes, in fact, i don't like any of them except History," he said.
