Joshua Rivas entered the hospital wing, swaying on his weak legs. Erys had left him just outside the door and he didn't know why. She needed help too. Joshua's white shirt was now completely red with motted blood and there was still a slight ooze from his neck. Right now blood seemed to be every but in his veins.
"Yo!" He called out, "I need some help out here!" Joshua yelled insistently. He didn't care about being rude, he cared about dying all over the hospital wing floor. Now that would be rude. Weakness passed over him again, like a wave of darkness and he felt as if he was going to pass out again. He grabbed onto a nearby counter to steady himself and nearly dropped to the floor.
Damn vampires.

Erys was fighting herself, trying to stay for Joshua because he needed help. She couldn't go in, she just couldn't.. It was like a half hour earlier, when he was stuck between going towards the vampire and staying beside her. Unable to decide what to do, she leaned against the doors for support, having looped an arm around her shoulder to press against her back. The pain that had been prolonged by numbness had now presented itself upon her back, a piercing, burning hurt that flared throughout every limb of her body. "Oh god.." She whispered, her voice shaky and dry. The Slytherin had insisted to herself that she was fine, and it was minor scratches. No need to bother the nurse over, since Joshua was so much more severely wounded.
Slapping back the urge to head back to the common room - as it was the strongest thing aside from the pain she felt at the moment - Erys stumbled sluggishly into the room. "Woaah." She murmured, dropping her hands to protect her face as she fell. Like her handsome friend had experianced, the sixth year now felt completely drunk. High. Out of it. God, she felt like she could fly. "Oh my. Joshua hunny, I do believe we're bleeding all over the place!" Came her girlish giggle; the only time she'd ever act a sliver like a girly girl was during times like this. "Hey, uh, sorry for your.. Door?" Snorting, Erys clutched at her stomach as if laughing her head off. There was red liquid mashed all over it.
But if that woman came and forced her on a bed, Erys might just have a cow. She'd yell, throw things, fight back, until strapped to the bed. "I just came to.. To.." Thinking now for a moment, she then remembered why she was here, "Get Joshy into a bed and stuff. He needs attention, like the medical kind. Ahahaha." It smelt like medicine in here, only further edging on her desire to throw up. She didn't though, since that'd be disgusting. "So sit down, and I'm outta here!" Wobbling, her legs only buckled once or twice before Erys actually started to make it to the door.
She felt like screaming because of the pain, like that would somehow make her feel better. "Just a scratch.. Just a scratch.." Erys repeated, narrowing her eyes. If she collapsed, man, she'd crawl towards that door. Freeeedooom. She was too stubborn to let herself be healed in this place. It freaked her out. It scared her more than death itself. Putting her safety and survival into somebody's hands was more than she could deal with.

Sitting in her little lounge, Arista was loving the silence of the hospital. Everything had run smoothly all day, and no one was staying over night. It was a miracle. Arista sighed as she sipped the last bit of her tea. She got up and readied herself to head up to her own room. It would be the first time in three days she would be sleeping in her own bed and not the horribly uncomfortable hospital beds. She was greatly looking forward to her golden comforter and soft pillow case.
Arista dimmed the lights with a flick of her wand and started down the long hallway. Arista heard the sound of lazy footsteps and falling. She heard a girlish laugh just outside the door, but in the dim light of the wing she couldn't see the students just outside the door frame. Squinting, instead of being bright and turning back up the lights, Arista saw two occupants stumble through the door. It looked as if they had ventured to hell and back.
She was surprised she could recognize the couple as Mr. Rivas and Miss Grace. They were both seeped in a dark red blood. She speed toward them, gasping as she got closer. The two of them were bleeding heavily, although Miss Grace seemed to have been control of her body. Arista went to Mr. Rivas first. She noticed to puncture wounds in his neck. They were gushing blood. "I..Mr. Rivas!" Arista said, sounding in disbelief. Vampires. Did she even want to know. Knowing that she would be unable to lift the boy, she swished and flicked him over to the nearest bed.
"Where do you think you are going!" She said, closing the door in Miss Graces face. The door locked itself, giving Erys no exit. Tending to Mr. Rivas for the moment, she hoped that Miss Grace would sit herself down. Going to the cabinet she took out a half empty vial of blood Replenishing Potion. She hoped she would have enough stores to last the night. She didn't want to think of the outcome if she didn't.
"Miss Grace!" Arista yelled, giving Mr. Rivas a good mouthful of potion, which she spilled, but it blended in with the blood stained all over his shirt. "Sit down! NOW!" She shouted, seeing the Slytherin trying to escape yet again. "please, don't make me call the headmaster. You are injured too. Let me get Mr. Rivas stabled and then I will get you out of her as soon as I can." She gave the girl a sharp glare. "Now, SIT!" she shreaked, though she doubted that the girl would obey like an obedient dog.

Joshua was suddenly relieved as he felt himself fly off his feet and laid back against a soft surface. A bed. He needed to rest so badly, he felt so weak he could barely move. He opened his eyes and saw the nurse, Arista Otis, standing over him. He smiled weakly.
"Hey Arista, long time no see." Joshua said, still a little delirious. "Our dates always do seem a little urgent, don't they?" He almost laughed but realised the pain wouldn't be worth it. At least he could still joke.
Then he heard Arista shrieking at Erys. Christ, he was sick of women fighting. What were they yelling about? Erys was throwing a tantrum. She was hurt and she didn't want to sit down. "Erys, stop it." He said it quietly, but with strength. The moment of lucidity was rare and he continued. "Let her help you or I'll never speak to you again." If she had died because he'd allow her be injured he could never forgive himself. She'd do what he said, but she be angry. Oh well, she was going to be angry anyway. At least she'd be angry and sedated, rather than angry and injured. Hell, this way she might not even hit him.

Walking face-first into the door with a loud thump, Erys stumbled back, shaken. Why? How?! "No fair." She hissed, locking her jaw stubbornly. She was going to get out of here, either with all of her blood or without. The healer yelling at her wouldn't do anything, really, only infuriate her more than she already was. Ready to blow down the door now, the Slytherin froze only when she heard his voice.
"But.. But.." Erys protested icily, narrowing her now-emerald eyes, "You wouldn't." He couldn't, after this was mostly his fault. Joshua wasn't serious, there was no possible way. Did he realise how much this was killing her right now? Giving a faint moan, she reluctantly dragged herself towards the bed beside his, barely able to hoist herself up. The covers were already bloody, but she didn't give a damn. What hurt her most wasn't the wounds, but the fact that she was weak. If she couldn't be strong, she wouldn't survive. Unfortunately, her childhood had taught her to believe this and live by it. Maybe things were different, but she didn't know.
Still sitting with her legs dangling off the edge, she gripped the side of the bed for dear life, tempted to fall over and black out completely. I cant believe this! Erys thought, the words a snarl in her head. "Its just a scratch." She protested, wincing. "This is.. All Joshua's blood. He got it on me, I'm not bleeding." HAH. What a liar. She really did need help now, but she wouldn't admit it. God, she wanted to hit Joshua so much. Just give him a good wallop. Which would happen soon, if the nurse hadn't already shoved a mouthful of medicine in her mouth. It was better for their good health to sedate her, and fast.

"I would." Joshua struggled to remain lucid. "It would kill me, but so would the thought of you hurting because of what I did. Lay the hell down." It hurt to speak but at least his mind was working again. Erys gave him a look that sent shivers down his spine. Oh yes, he was going to hurt later. At least she was lying down now and hopefully the healer would get onto her soon. Erys was too proud for his own good. Even Joshua could manage to sit down when he'd be beaten, readying himself for revenge. Though it was far more likely that Erys would never allow him near the vampire again and take her own revenge.
"She's lying." Joshua explained to Arista, "Her wounds are probably deep, she took a big swipe." With those last words his strength left him. The last thing he remembered was reaching out and taking Erys' hand in his own.

"Ah, Mr. Rivas, I've told you many times before, I'm to old for you." Arista said. She smiled amidst the blood. The floor was smeared with the slippery red substance. Arista sighed at the thought, but at the moment she couldn't take the time to clean it up. Arista took a square piece of bandage and taped it on to the side of Josh's neck. She hated neck wounds. Arista was very good at stopping bleeding, putting wizarding practices along with the muggle practice of tightly wrapping the wound. However, neck injuries were different. It was hard to keep pressure on them without strangling the patient.
"Thank you Mr. Rivas." She said, noticing how he had calmed down Erys. She noticed they were holding hands. "Now that we're all calm." She hadn't known that this lovely romance had formed. She would need to gossip about it later in the staff room. How he could put up with the girl, the Lord only knew.
Taking his free hand, Arista placed it to his wound, pressing it down. "Keep pressure on it." She instructed. "Only for a moment while I check out the screaming banshee here." She moved over to Erys.
The girl was squirming, still trying to get away, although it was only with half a heart. Josh had asked her to stay, and she was obeying. So the beast can be tamed. Arista thought. "Please, Sit still!" Arista said, wiping away some of the blood from the girl. However, she couldn't get a good look.
"Honestly." Arista said, slamming down the towel she was using, now full of blood. "All of Mr. Rivas' blood? Its amazing how it keeps seeping out from your wounds." Arista said with her eyebrows raised. "I have many a potions to knock you out miss." She said fast, she needed to get this girl to sit still. "More than half will leave you with a pounding headache as you wake."

"Fine." Erys muttered curtly, figuring she'd have to lay on her stomach for Arista to heal the cuts on her back. Sliding off her jean jacket, she let it hang on the nearest bedpost, wincing once more while leaning over. Twisting onto her stomach, she opened her mouth suddenly as he took her hand, about to say something. Closing it once deciding he was unconscious and wouldn't hear it anyway, Erys instead felt herself smile. "Its going to be okay." She whispered, pressing her lips to the back of his hand.
What, were these two dating or something? It wasn't as if Erys was like this every day, she had reason to squirm and be pissed off. She shouldn't have to list the reasons to him, since Joshua knew already. As for the healer, she didn't feel the need to justify her actions. All she should understand is that the Slytherin hated hospitals, and that the only person who could calm her down was him. So deal. "Alright! Just heal him, okay? Hes more hurt than I am." Relax, lady, this is extremely difficult for her. Forcing her body to remain still, Erys ground her teeth together, knowing it was easier than getting a headache after.
Calmer now and no longer shaking, Erys never let go of his hand, glancing at it every so often. Shouldn't Arista roll him on his side so he doesn't choke on his tongue or something? Whatever. Her back hurt like hell itself, burning as if lit aflame and doused with alcohol. Closing her eyes, she bit her lip, waiting for it to be over.

Joshua was dreaming. There was a dark woman, beautiful and beckoning. There was a terrible shadow surrounding her but he was inexlpicably attracted to her. Beside her, though, was another figure. She was less beautiful in a traditional sense, but she was gorgeous in a natural way. There was no magic that enhanced her already appealing feautures. She was angry, yelling at him. He had a choice of the two. He started towards the woman, then hesitated. He looked more carefully at the girl and saw something in her eyes. Forgiveness. Hope...and something else he was unfamiliar with. Her fury was like a blazing flame and he moved towards her.
Suddenly he woke again. Joshua seemed to be drifting in and out of consciousness. He felt he had made a dire choice, but he could no longer remember the details. He felt a surge in his will to live. Coupled with the effects of the Replenishing potion, he feeling was something of a high. "Erys, sit still. Arista's got me all patched up, I'm just a waiting game now. Chill out and we'll be alright." Joshua said. The words were that of an order, but his tone was of a request. He gripped her hand a little harder to remind her he was there.

Well wasn't he having fun, waking up only to tell her yet again what to do. "You are so dead when I can move." She muttered, mightily ticked off due to the fact he believed he could pop order after order and force her to listen. This was pure torture for god's sake! Burying her face into the pillow, she groaned quietly, enduring her suffering in silence. All she wanted was to be done and out of here, this sucked majorly. Hopefully she wouldn't miss any of the Slytherin Quidditch games because she really didn't want to let her team down. Then again, Erys was tough. Her skin, though soft, was thick, and healed fast. She should be up and running in just a few weeks time, if Joshua or Arista didn't slow her down first. Feeling him give her hand a comforting squeeze, she rolled her eyes, saying nothing. Obviously angry, but still keeping a good hold on his fingers.
Erys knew it would do her no good to get angry, but she couldn't help but steam for a while. If it weren't for this.. This cage, she'd be blowing off some steam right about now. Joshua must know how she felt, he was probably being careful about it too. Too weak to hit him just yet, the animagus shut her eyes tightly, sighing.

Wow, was he gonna pay for this. Joshua was unsure why she had such a problem with hospitals, no one ever enjoyed a hospital stay but she remained adamant in her hatred of the situation. He decided he had been a little tactless, handled the situation badly. She wasn't exactly predictable and even the empathic Joshua had trouble reading her.
"Hey Erys, I'm sorry." Joshua said, still weak despite the replenishing potion. Slowly he could feel strength returning, but he couldn't imagine every getting out of that bed. "For everything. I know you're hating this, I'm not exactly loving it either. So...sorry." He repeated again. He wasn't making any excuses because was wrong. This whole thing was his mess and he'd managed to drag the girl he cared for into it. That thought brought about a question. How strongly did he feel for her exactly? He felt more for her than he ever had about a girl, and Joshua had been with many. They all had their charms but none of them had shared a connection like these two. It was something inexplicable, something he had managed to screw up. Guilt surged through him, and he felt a terribly emotional pain. It was as if he couldn't breath.
Looking over at her pained expression, he believed she'd forgive him. Eventually. It would take longer still for him to forgive himself, if he ever could. Joshua had done many things he had never been proud of, but before this day he had never been ashamed. The yo-yo between high and low emotion had spun again but Rivas tried not to show his misery. Erys' anger was one of the things keeping her stable, and while he might try to temper it he would not steal it from her to be replaced with pity. He was done with selfish acts for the moment.

Propping herself up on her elbows, Erys fixed him with a controlled look. One that didn't exactly show how she was feeling, since she was trying to make sure she didn't blow up on him. "Joshua." She murmured quietly, thinking for a moment on how to respond, "Nobody died. Sure, we both ache, but we're okay." Her voice was confident, in a bout of sudden calmness. Rubbing her fingers comfortingly against his hand, she winced, wondering when the healer was going to make her drink something. Didn't she get a replenishing potion?
What Erys felt didn't change. She was still angry, and couldn't deny her shock and pain at seeing him kiss the vampire. But she could control it, and calm herself down before she managed to ruin an awesome friendship. Looking deep into Joshua's eyes now, she managed a small smile. "Let me simmer, okay? I dont want to have to eat you." Erys was trying to be humorous despite the impending chaos. Just give her time, dont worry about it. You've apologised, she'll get over it eventually. Grinning at this, she relaxed her arms a bit, still holding on to his hand.
Breathing deeply but quietly, the Slytherin closed her eyes, lowering her head back onto the pillow. Sleep prodded at her like a stray pixie, pulling the strands of her hair and covering her eyes. It was a troubling slumber, but restful. Squeezing her eyes shut, Erys hm'd softly, already gone and dreaming. Or rather, having a rather frightening nightmare. It was a while before she made any sounds or movements at all; she was breathing, but her back moved up and down so faintly one could assume she was dead. Images kept replaying themselves in her head, over and over she saw him wrap his arms around the bloodsucker, holding her tightly. Shaking her head as if protesting, the animagus held her breath for a moment, seeing the last breath of life drain out of him. She was watching events play another way, with him dying before her eyes. Only to return as a vampire and rip her throat out.

"I intend to heal him Miss Grace!" Arista said, her hands on her hips. She saw Josh go into a sleep. She looked at his face, getting back to the normal color as he slept. It would be a short sleep, but it was letting the potion work. "I have to wait for the potion to set in. Now flip over!" Arista said, calming her voice, but still stern. She was positive that Erys would stay put. She wasn't going to leave her little boyfriend. Loyalty was a Slytherin trait, although it was often misused.
Arista lifted the shirt off of the girl's back. She had to pull hard in some parts, ripping the fast growing skin off again. Arista felt bad for the girl. She decided not to give her anything for the pain, she would probably reject it. Unless she started screaming in pain, she wasn't going to waste her stores.
The scratches on Erys' back were long and just deep enough to bleed a good deal. Patting the towel along her back, she decided to heal the deep ones first. The other less serious ones she could probably close up well with a salve she had brewed.
"Ok, ready?" the question went unanswered. The two Slytherin's were talking amongst themselves. Arista decided to just start. He would keep her calm. For once, she was thankful for Joshua Rivas' presence in her wing.
Taking her wand from her sleeve, Arista gently healed the first wound. Arista's wand was special. It was made as though it knew she would one day become a Healer. It was light and healed softly. Scars hardly arose from her healing. However Erys would maybe scar from one maybe two of her gashes.
Arista knew how the healing would feel. It would hurt, just like if someone pressed down there fingers on the cut. Like the finger was running up the cut, pressing down. Arista went slow, she kept on the course of the cut. after a few seconds, the longest deepest cut was healed. It probably tingled, but that area didn't hurt anymore. Arista had been right. A light pink scar stretched the length of Erys' back. It was light, barely noticeable, but there. Arista snorted, but she knew she had tried.
Arista healed five more gashes with her wand. Erys was taking the pain well. Arista was proud of her. She hoped that all her fireworks were done. Arista place her wand back into her sleeve. "Ok, big ones healed." She wiped the girl's back again. The small cuts had stopped bleeding. The scar had stayed solitary. Arista was proud of her work. She went to the cupboard and took the salve out.
"How you holding up Josh?" he asked knowing the healing had taken a little longer than she had hoped. She squeezed the orange goo on Erys back. "Sorry if it's cold." She said, not sorry in the least. She rubbed it all over the Slytherin's back. "Now stay there, it needs time to heal." It would take at least a half hour to heal all the cuts nicely. "If you don't want anymore scars, I suggest you listen to me."
"Now for you Mr. Rivas." Arista said, going to his side of the bed. "Is your neck your only problem." she asked, making sure.

Erys hadn't been expecting the nurse to rip more of her skin off, which was why she nearly tore up the bedsheet with her claws in surprise as she woke. There she was, the back of her shirt in tatters on the floor, her bra amongst the clothing debris. Lying back-exposed as she felt even more pain. What had Arista done to her? Gritting her teeth together, the Slytherin said nothing, enduring the hurting in silence for now.
..Until the healing began, where she cried out in pain, gripping Joshua's hand so tightly her fingers starting hurting. Erys knew it was like this when you had to grow bones back, but not scars. Shouldn't it feel all calm and gentle, like it was supposed to be? At the moment when she couldn't take the fingers against the cut anymore, the feeling stopped, and she had a few minutes to breathe heavily. Resting for a few minutes before the smaller ones were taken care of.
And then it felt like Erys was being covered in ice, and her whole body tensed. Writhing a bit, the animagus squeezed her eyes shut, pressing her face into the pillow to muffle the sound of her snarl. Sure she was taking this well. Had the nurse ever experianced this before, big slashes from a vampire all over your back? I think not. Trying to fall asleep again, hopefully this time without any nightmares, her eyes relaxed slightly, and she shifted so her cheek was to the pillow now.
