It was late. Cold. Dark. Kind of on the spooky side too. Though Alexis really couldnt sleep and as far as she knew everyone else in their dorm were fast asleep, someone from the boys dorm room was definatly sleeping anyway, all the snores coming from that direction. She was sure if she was a guy, she'd have slapped him awake by now to make sure he stopped snoring. Though unfortunatly, you couldnt get into the boys dorm if you were a girl. Probably to stop people getting over intimate with each other, though Alexis was sure it wouldnt stop them.
She had her robes held tightly around her, her hair was tied back tonight to keep it out of her face. She doubted she would run into anyone but she wouldnt put it past some rule breaker, like herself, to be out so late. She shivered as an icy draft ran papst her and ended up pulling her robes tighter around her. "Maybe this wasnt such a good idea"
She thought about that, right now she could be happily curled up, underneath her quilt in bed. But no, she finds herself wandering stupidly down the dungeon corridor. Of all the things and places she could have gone or done, she chose this. The icy wind that somehow had entered the dungeon, though she couldnt answer how, was getting stronger as she willed herself on. It was like having an icicle to your cheek, her cheeks now going a faint red as she shivered from the cold.

Reagan shivered as he walked down the dark dungeon corridor. In front of him, he held out his wand, a beam of light guiding his way. He hated patrolling down here. However, he had drawn the short stick this time. All the prefect needed to do was one walk through and then he could run back up to the Ravenclaw common room and put on his nice warm pajamas. He walked faster thinking about his soft sheets wrapped around him keeping out the unseasonable cold night.
The sixth year's footsteps echoed on the stone walls on the dungeons. It was majorly creepy down here. Not that Reagan was scared, just more cautious then he usually was patrolling the corridors. IN the light cast by his wand, Reagan could see the damp floor stretched out before him. The walls were just as damp and dirty. He guessed that they had never been cleaned, nor didn't he expect the house elves ever ventured down into the dark areas of the school.
Reagan listened to his footsteps, trying to pass the time. The rhythm rang in his head, making him sleepy. Step, Step. Step, Step. Bed was just ahead. Step, Step. Step, step, Step, step. The prefect stopped. Did he hear footsteps that were not his own? His did not move his feet, but held his wand up higher, trying to see further down the dungeon corridor. Standing still, he heard the step, step. of someone else walking down the corridor. The footsteps got closer and he raised his wand higher, now above his head.
On the edge of the light her saw on foot then another. It was a girl, out of bed. He breathed easier. He had expected a murderous vampire or bloody figure to attack him. "You there. Why aren't you in bed." He said, walking toward the girl, his eyes slightly angered. [/color]

She had heard tales about the dungeon since she had been here, but one thing she never believed in was ghost stories, things that were put there to scare you. Or at least she thought she didnt. Alexis was young, but she was proud, stubborn, arrogant and just plain... Well she was Alexis and nobody could bring her away from herself.
Every sound down here seemed to be multiplied, she was sure if she had a needle and dropped it, it would echo all around the dungeon. It was musty down here, everything seemed to be close to her. She felt like she was breathing in hot air, even though it was cold. She shivered again and held her hands on her arms, rubbing them up and down to try and warm herself up, but it wasnt working.
Alexis was now aware that she wasnt walking quietly, her feet were echoing, the sounds bouncing off the walls. She stopped and listened as the echo died away. She sighed, thinking if anyone would have caught her, it would have been from those steps. She smiled, but her happiness was dulled a little when she too, heard footsteps that were not her own.
She turned to the direction from where she came and saw a familiar light cast by the lumos spell and she knew whoever it was, they had seen her. She put down her wand to the side of her, the light now reflecting off the dungeons floor as she looked to whoever was following her. Recognising him not to be a professor, she assumed he must be a prefect.
"Because I cant sleep" she told him truthfully, "and its too cold, and I wanted to see the castle by wand light, not natural light" she shrugged, he asked her a question and she had answered it truthfully.

Reagan couldn't believe her answer. It was obviously the truth, but honestly, he wished she could have thought up something a little better than that. "Oh." he said, for he hadn't thought of a good response. He walked closer to her to get a good look at her. He had known with out a doubt that she was a Slytherin. He guessed he wasn't far off from their common room. Reagan, who after six years was still bitter about getting put into Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin, was glad about one thing. That he didn't have to walk down into the filthy dungeons to get to the common room. He would spend all of his time cleaning his grimy shoes and robes instead of studying.
"What made you think you could walk around at night, alone?" Reagan asked the girl as he was still walking closer to her. He still had nothing witty to say back to her honesty. He just wanted to go to bed. However, as he finally saw her up close, her felt bad. He didn't want to leave her down here alone. Perhaps he would offer to walk her back to her common room and then go to bed.
There was a twang of resistance still in Reagan's brain however. She had been perfectly fine walking around alone before, he doubted she needed his assistance. He would just order her to get back to bed and return to his own bed as well.
"Is there something wrong with natural light?" Reagan said out of no where, a thought popping into his head. He had heard murmurings of vampires being among the students. Perhaps she was one of them, going off to suck the blood of some poor innocent Hufflepuff. Reagan stood taller and gripped his wand harder until she answer him. Apparently he was going to become the knight and shining armor. hah!

Alexis wasnt really bothering about somebody else being there, nor did it bother her the fact that this person was a prefect. Alexis folded her arms across her chest and leant on her left food with her eyebrow raised in a slight arch, wondering what he was still doing here and why he couldnt just turn around and leave her alone. Though in all honesty she didnt much care and his answer of 'oh' made Alexis think that he wasnt very conversational. Though this she was happy about, if she didnt have to talk to him she wouldnt.
"Nothing made me think i could. Though i'll do whatever i please"
Alexis stood there looking at him as he seemed to walk closer to her, which was not what Lexi wanted at all. She wanted people she didnt know to stay away from her, she preferred things that way and wasnt really one to get to close to people either. Alexis waited to see if he was going to say anything else and for a few minutes there was silence between the two and for a while it seemed as though that was going to be it, though just as she was about to turn and walk away he said something else. Alexis sighed and dropped her arms to her side as she looked at him exsaperatedly.
"Yeah, Its dark and there is no light"
She stated this obviously as though the guy had been stupid. What a random thing to say, but still, looking at his badge he was a Ravenclaw though he was sure Ravenclaws were meant to be smart and this guy was proving to be anything but.

What ever she pleased. Right. Reagan thought for a few moments about takeing her down to her head of house. She could do what ever she pleased allright as long as it got him closer to getting down with this stupid check and back up stairs and into bed. The thought faded away as he figure her head of house would slap her gently on the wrist and then send her wander off again.
Reagan sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Of course he realised that there was no light. He was making a joke. Ok, so his nerves were causing his mind to melt. He shifted closer to the girl but then averted his steps and leaned up again the stone wall. It was cold and clammy. Reagan could almost feel the damp wetness through his robes. He sighed again.
"Look," he said, shineing his wand in the girls eyes. "Can you please just got to bed so I can go to bed." He gave her his best puppy dog face, which he doubted she could actually see in the dim light, but it was a good effort. When all else fails...grovel.
