The Character
Name: Sahar Katherine Kindon
Nicknames (if any): Sah, Sah-Rah by her sister, and Kat by her close friends
Age & Year: Fifteen & Fifth
Blood: Pure
Wand: “My wand is seven and one-quarter inches long, and made of alder wood. It has the core of a kraken beak, and is good for transfiguration.”
Personality:
Sahar is one of the smartest people in her year, if not the smartest; she uses rather intelligent words and is taking Arithmancy this year. Some people might think she was stuck up because of her smarts, but she doesn’t like to flaunt it around, nor shove it in people’s faces. If someone was to ask Sahar for homework help, she would do it in a second, though she’ll probably get distracted before you can say Alohamora. She’s always one of the first to speak up in class, though she gets in trouble for writing notes to friends instead of writing notes for class.
Sahar Kindon is a rather uh, “friendly” person, and isn’t afraid to show it. She would bounce up to someone in the middle of the crowded corridors and tackle them with a hug -- needless to say, she’s really touchy-feely. If someone tells her a secret, she would take it to the grave, at least until someone else says something -- and then she’ll tell what she knows. She’s the one in her group of friends that likes to be goofy, always making jokes; she’s also the one that does the homework of those who don’t want to do it. Sometimes she wonders if people are only her friend because of that, but then she gets distracted by something shiny…or cute =).
Sahar definitely is the kind of girl you wouldn’t see playing sports, but her third favorite activity ( first and second being school and boys, respectively ) is actually Quidditch. When she was little, the only thing she wanted to do was jump on a broom stick and fly around, just like her daddy was doing, while her mother sat inside, reading more and more books than one would think imaginable. Yes, Quidditch is a sport, but it doesn’t involve running -- Sahar’s least favorite activity ever. Hopefully this year, the captain won’t make them do laps around the pitch -- she may have to jinx someone because of it.
All in all, Sahar is just a studious girl who likes to flirt and have fun. She’s the kind of person someone should want as a friend, though some don’t, and Sahar just likes to be herself. She’s rather stubborn sometimes, and always wishes to get her way, but it just doesn’t happen. Some wonder why she was placed into the Ravenclaw house, why with her charm and loveablity, and then they actually realize her wit, smarts, and her way of ‘always wanting to do more.’ With a new-found love of dueling, this should be a really fun year for Sahar Kindon.
Appearance:
Sahar is a natural beauty, much like her mother. With her average height (five-foot-six) and the weight of a healthy girl (one-twenty-one), she is confident in most of the things that she does. She isn't someone that you would call neither fat nor skinny, neither lazy nor athletic -- she was gladly blessed with a semi-fast metabolism, and is grateful for it. She doesn't like to do athletic things, excluding Quidditch, of course, but she can if it's necessary. Some might call her lazy because of her always doing her schoolwork, but she just enjoys things like writing, as opposed to running.
Her face is oval-shaped, and slightly pale. She obviously got her coloring from her father. She also has freckles from sitting out in the sun and reading, though she can't stay out for long because she will burn -- terribly. Sahar's lips are longer, but slightly plump and a light pink color. Her nose is straight and centered almost perfectly in the middle of her face, not a lot of space between her lips and nose. Her eyes are almost almond shaped and an extremely light green color.
Sahar's hair is surely something that she developed from her mother. It is medium brown (the darkness coming from her father) and straight. It tends to stick out at odd angles, and is about shoulder-length. She usually center-parts it and keeps it relatively as tame as she can, but there are times where she really doesn't care. Sometimes she will use a curling spell on it and it looks pretty good, though it's a pain in the arse. Her eyebrows are semi-long and waxed to eyebrow-perfection -- for the most part, anyways.
The clothing style of Sahar is relatively modest, wearing jeans and crew-neck shirts. Occasionally, however, she will dress nicer, like a tank top and a shrug, or the school-worthy-length skirts and shorts. She's not one to flaunt her body, especially for formal events: she would arrive in a floor-length gown as opposed to a short and low-cut party dress. Makeup? She hardly wears any. Sahar is one to go "au natural," as in slight lip gloss and maybe some eye shadow -- if anything at all. Some might think that she wears blush, but it's actually just her natural flush -- even though she's just plain pale.
History:
Sahar Katherine Kindon was born on October 19 to Eddie and Lisa Kindon. As the second of two children in the Kindon family, being the second girl, she was obviously spoiled and was dubbed Sah-Rah by her older sister. Her sister, Miranda, was born only one year before her, but it seemed like it was light-years away once they got old enough to do the thing that siblings do best -- fight.
When Sahar hit four years old, her sister being five, their father introduced them to one of Sahar’s current hobbies: flying. Yes, she had her fun inside, by having her mother teach her how to read, or being amused by her father always whipping up different potion-concoctions, flying was the one thing that she truly enjoyed to do with her sister. However, when she turned six ( and her father started to teach them all about Quidditch ), she learned the hard way of how painful it was to break a bone in your body -- especially your leg. Yes, she broke her leg falling off of her broom, and didn’t touch a broom for three years.
During those years that she stayed away from flying brooms, Sahar found something else that could occupy her time for longer than the time that the sun was up, and the only way it could hurt her was if the books gave her a paper cut or got dropped on her foot. Knowing that Sahar was going to be a witch, Lisa decided that she should start teaching Sahar about the different subjects of magic, her favorites then being Transfiguration and the odd, number-using alphabets of Arithmancy. True, it was a little hard for her to learn about Arithmancy at only nine and ten years old, she still liked how she could decipher things using the different number-and-letter patterns. Plus, it didn’t help any that on her tenth birthday her sister received her own letter for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After picking up her broomstick again ( the only way to get her on it was because Miranda told her that all first years had to take a flying lesson ) and flying around the family’s large backyard, she found that she missed the familiar feeling of the wind blowing through her hair, or the way she could catch the speeding balls that her father was throwing to her from the deck. The next year she received her letter to Hogwarts, and being the little nerd that she was and still is, she started to read Hogwarts, a History. After hitting Diagon Alley for all of her supplies, she was rearing and ready for her new school.
So, as soon as she got to the stool, where the Sorting Hat resided in the hands of none other than Professor McGonagall, she was mesmerized by the tall ceilings ( well, not that she didn’t know about them, between Miranda and her trusty little book ). As soon as, “Kindon, Sahar” was called, she bounced her way up to the stool and plopped down, and the hat only sat on her head but maybe four seconds, and it yelled, the loud voice booming over the Great Hall, “RAVENCLAW!”
Almost immediately she began to make more and more friends and hung out with her sister a little bit -- and then became slightly popular than Miranda by the end of her first year. The teachers were all happy at how well she was doing in her studies, and she was doing great in the class none other than flying. However, she was slightly lagging in Potions and Herbology, but her sister helped her out until she got a better hang on it. The years went on, and in her second year she snagged a spot on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, as a chaser. When fourth year came around, she was able to take Arithmancy, and took it again for her fifth year. During her third year is when she actually realized what boys are and what they could do, and fell in lust with the boys in the least favorite house to some of her classmates -- the Slytherins. Everyone has to have their fix, and she tried to get it -- dated numerous boys both her third and fourth years, and towards the end of her fourth year she found that she didn’t really like the dating part, just the, ya know, hooking up part. Sahar didn’t exactly go all the way with these people ( actually, none of them ) but pretty much everything except that. When the supply list for her fifth year rolled around, she was ecstatic to find that she was elected as a prefect, and couldn’t wait for the school year to start.
