Jerred sat in the Common Room of the Slytherin House and yawned, raising his hand to cover his mouth to show off his manners to anyone who happened to watch him. He was bored, staring lazily into the wall and contemplating counting how many stones there were, though he knew the number had to be into the thousands.
He didn't care much for his house anymore, the students he had picked on had left and only more annoying ones replaced them, though he felt empty inside for one particular reason, though that reason he would never expel. He quietly leaned forward and rested his arms on his legs and looked at the carpet between his shoes, his eyebrow raising slightly. He slowly but surely began to count the number of threads there, mumbling the numbers as he went.
He soon felt the prickle of his hairs on the back of his neck standing on end, a sign he knew someone was looking at him. He looked up and he saw right away who it was.
'Counting the threads in the carpet, nothing better to do.' He said blandly, no enthusiasm in his voice whatsoever.

Angel had walked out of her room sick of being cooped up inside for so long. She figured she'd see who was hanging out in the common room. That's when she noticed Jerred sitting there and it was as if he could sense someone was there because he turned to her and told her that he was counting threads in the carpet.
Angel looked at him strangely for a moment or two one of her eyebrows raised slightly.
'So because there's nothing better to do you choose to count carpet thread. That's a new one.'
She smiled leaning against a wall with her hands folded across her chest.
'So how many have you counted so far?

He saw Angelique appear before him and a bemused smile crept across his face.
'Seventy two thousand, seven hundred and seventy three and counting.' Jerred said, pointing to where he had finished right next to his right foot. 'And that's in that small section between my feet.'
He looked down and began to count again, but gave up and looked up and laughed.
'I know I'm strange. I'm Jerred.' He said mischievously.

The fact that he had actually given her a number was more amusing than what she had walked in on him doing. At first she tried to hide her smirk not wanting him to think she found him entertaining in the least. Moving into the room arms crossed over her chest she tried to give a serious look but remembering him give her the number seventy two thousand, seven hundred and twenty three she laughed heartily, it felt good since it hadn't really happened in so long.
She laughed so hard that her stomach started to hurt, she moved her hands and one reached around her belly and she bent over trying to ease it all they while still laughing. Several other students looked at her but she didn't even care. Laughter was a rare event for her and she was going to continue on until she was good and ready to stop.
It ended soon enough, and she looked at they boy tears gleaming in the corner of her eyes. She heard him introduce himself, and trying to catch her breath she put a hand up indicating that he should wait just a moment. When she could breathe like a normal person, she said.
'I'm Angel and yes you are very weird but it works for you. I wonder if you're the first to undertake such an endeavor, I mean there's a lot of carpet in here you may graduate and still not know the total count.'
She even joked which again was unusual for her but she seemed to be giddy now.

Jerred raised his eyebrow slightly and looked at the girl weirdly, looking away with an exasperated look on his face. He shook his head at her and thought about how such a person could laugh at something so lame.
'I've only been counting for a small amount of time, maybe a week at most.' Jerred said, shrugging his shoulder slightly. He leant back and sighed lengthily. 'Why did you laugh so hard? It's not I did anything that would make a person laugh. Or did you find me amusing in my boredom of counting carpet threads?'

'I find it amusing that you actually gave me a real number and that you actually have been counting carpet threads. It's not something one normally hears about, plus I don't laugh much and well today was one of the days I did. I guess since it happens so infrequently I over did it a bit. Sorry didn't mean to seem rude or anything. I just have an odd sense of humor I guess.'
Why she felt the need to explain herself she didn't know she wasn't aware that she had been laughing that hard. Oh well it felt good to her and that's all that counted. Feeling curious though she asked.
'So what else do you do when you're bored? I mean counting threads can't be all it's cracked up to be.'

Jerred heard her explanation and nodded in reply.
'I simply terrorise people.' Jerred said, looking behind Angelique and seeing the Second Year, then only a First Year, that he had terrorised quite frequently last term. Jerred whipped out his wand and sent the same spell flying towards the poor kid, then with a strange whip of his wand, the Second Year flew to the roof of the Common Room, hitting with a muffled thud. He grinned widely at the pure shock of the Second Year.
'You see, that's what I do in my free time outside of counting carpet threads.' He said honestly, though he had done worse to others.

Angel smirked, his other pass time was a lot more interesting than counting threads. She watched both students as they went flying and she couldn't suppress a laugh except this time it was a bit more reserved. Both kids were shaken as they looked at their attacker. Grabbing up their things they ran away from the room as fast as could be.
It was funny but she would much rather pick on some Gryffindorks, or Hufflestanks, or Ravenclowns. Still fun was fun.
Moving to one of the more comfortable chairs she sat down glaring at a younger girl who looked at her, the girl gave a slight whimper and scrambled away. Well, bullying was bullying.
'Those poor ickle little ones don't know how to act yet. Looking at me like that not nice. I can clearly understand your other pass time although I prefer my prey to be from another house makes it more fun for me anyway. There's this one Gryffindor I love to torture a poor little second year. She dreads seeing me I think.'
Angel giggled again patting the seat next to her for Jerred to sit.

'I do prey on other Houses, just him,' Jerred said, taking out his wand and throwing the student down behind the seat he was sitting in, 'kicked away my wand last year. He's been dearly paying for it since.'
Jerred smiled at her, before turning back to counting the threads, but that was before she sat down next to him. He looked at her rather caustiously and raised his eyebrow.
'I can see why you like to prey on other students,' Jerred said, leaning back and cracking his hands. 'Though if anyone crosses me, they pay for it, Slytherin or not.'

'I like your attitude Jerred I think we as Slytherins deserve the right to torture others just because. Too bad the rest of the school feels differently. But yes if they deserve it they deserve it Slytherin or not.' Even in her own house there were some that wanted to challenge others and prove their dominance. She'd seen it before several times, but one dared do it to her not unless they wanted her to hex them into next year.
Focusing on Jerred once more, she spoke to him 'Its a bit boring in here maybe we can do something more fun? Besides hexing your enemies that it.'
Sometimes she hated being in the common room when nothing was going on there. Tonight there seemed to be no fighting, yelling or bickering. Just Jerred's hexing but that was short-lived.
