Joshua Rivas was splayed across a comfortable couch in the common room, one leg thrown over the armrest in an attempt at further luxury. He held a textbook in one hand which he looked over periodcally every few minutes. He was in between studying and just, well...chilling.
It had been a long day. For some reason he still couldn't get the hang of one particular charm. The spell itself was actually quite a simple one, so Joshua put it down to simply being distracted. Usually an ace at every charm and curse the fact a simple incantation eluded his mind frustrated him.
Joshua sighed and ran a free hand through his short dark hair. For a moment he considered running the halls and causing a little bit of hell. He attempted to move and found himself only sinking deeper into the couch, no willpower remaining. Ah well. He sat content remaining sprawled on the couch flitting between study and pure nothing.

This day was turning out to be one of the rarer days where Kim found herself almost relaxed. Even the buzzing of the bees hadnt bothered her today, the only thing that had was some Gryffindors acting like idiots and the thing that frustrated her the most was the fact they seemed to think she had cared for their antics. She had, until she had had her fun and hung them upside down for a while beside the lake before dropping them into the water itself. She had felt better after that.
Walking into the common room, she smiled at the familiar sight of Emerald and Silver. They way all good things should look. With of course, a great dirty snake in the middle of it. All was good today, everything was perfectly relaxed, even the prescense of the boy that was in here didnt seem to bother her as she lay on her stomache infront of the fire. Letting the heat wash over her. It had turned into a good day. Despite everything that had happened over the course of this last week.

It took a few minutes for Joshua to even realise someone had entered the room. She had come in silently and lay down, facing towards the fire. From where he sat he couldn't indentify her, a head of blond hair all that he could see. For a moment he was almost annoyed that someone had broken his concentration, then he reprimanded that thought as stupidity. He thumbed his nose and, deciding he was bored, made preperations to talk to the girl.
In his bored state he decided speech wasn't enough. No, he had to be inventive. Too much effort, he told himself and simply scrunched up a piece of paper from his textbook. He would master the spell later.
Rivas took aim and flicked the paper ball across the room. He didn't mean to be annoying, the practise more to get her attention than anything else. The paper ball hit her softly in the back of the head.

Kim was watching the flames of the fire dance around inside the grate. Still aware of the other persons presence but not letting it bother her like it usually would, Kim had come in here now to relax and she found it easier to relax if there was someone else in the room. Strange, she knew. Though in the past she had gotten used to relaxing in the common room if someone else was there.
Minding her own business, her icy eyes watched the darting flames, pulling out her own wand and playing with the fire, helping it to take shape and dance around, she smiled softly to herself but didnt expect to feel something hit her on her head, though it wasnt hard, it was hard enough to break her concentration as the flames died down to what they were before.
Kim turned around and lay on her back, her arms propping herself up somewhat as she lay her eyes on him. An eyebrow was raised as she looked down beside her for the thing that had hit her, a small piece of paper was scrunched up in a ball, "Any particular reason for that?"

Blissfully unaware of pair below, Erys continued to float, having cast a levitation spell on herself a while ago. Nobody seemed to notice her up here, but that really didn't matter- she was close to falling asleep anyway. Parting her eyelids slightly to get a glimpse of Joshua and some other girl, the sixth year tried to make an effort to greet him, finding she was unable to say anything. The heat lulled over her like a wave, bringing about her more lazy side. Vowing to say hi later, the animagus closed her eyes, laying out on her stomach from high above as if she was on a bed instead of on.. Well, nothing. The moment sleep made her eyes close, the spell was broken, and Erys was falling, fast. Opening her eyes the moment before impact, her lips managed to form a quick, "Ahh!" before she hit the floor. With her abs to cushion her fall - hah, not likely - she moaned, curling on her side and placing a hand on her stomach.
Way to look like a complete idiot, Erys. Thank god Joshua was, well, sort of like a friend. He wouldn't think her retarded or anything, but that girl might. Actually, nix that, he could think her stupid. Squeezing her eyes shut with a sharp intake of breath, she really didn't feel like moving now. Hoping dearly that neither of them had heard her, or saw her fall, she pressed closer to the back of the couch, still balled up. Turns out, they probably heard the loud thump when her body met the ground and said hello. Agh. Nothing was broken, fortunately, but Erys will find a ton of bruises tomorrow morning. If not discover them, she'd sure feel them. Pained, she resisted the urge to jump up and exclaim 'Im OKAY!' because that was really lame. hah. Not to mention cliché.
Pretending to disappear, Erys felt her arms threaten to shrink, and her fingernails sharpen into claws. Her pupils were already slitted in a very feline kind of way. Well this is just great. I probably look like a wierdo, half human and have cat. Stuck somewhere in between, with the animagus part trying to take over. She had to control the pain to keep herself human. Joshua'd freak if he saw her fall, then find a bengal cat in her place. Or maybe he didn't catch her face when she plummeted, that was a nice thought.
{ I swear, one of these days Erys is going to get herself killed. }

Joshua watched as the fireshow disappeared, slightly disappointed. The girl now watched him with her eyebrows raised, propped up on her shoulders. She was pretty and Joshua thought he knew her. Something with a K in it, Kathy? Kelly? He shook his head slightly, still unsure. He didn't know her well.
"Any particular reason for that?"
Joshua smiled. Instead of replying, he slowly tore another page from his book and scrunched it up. He held it up for her to see and flicked it at her again. Again, it didn't hit her hard but bounced off her nose.
"I'm bored." Joshua grinned.
Suddenly, a figure dropped from the ceiling. Rivas started as it hit the floor, hard. A flash of dark hair and familiar eyes told him it was Erys. Joshua winced. He waited a few moments until he heard her moan, then burst out laughing.

{ Oh whoop sorry. }
Yeah. He saw me. Erys thought bitterly, biting her lip to keep from groaning anymore. "N-not.. Funny.." She struggled into a sitting position while clutching at her stomach, knowing it was funny for him but sure as hell not for her. Steadying her breathing until she didn't shake when she tried to stand, she reached a hand up to the edge of the couch, gripping it for dear life while attempting to get on her feet. That, was so not enjoyable. Pushing herself up, Erys leaned on the couch for support, staring down with a look of mock-anger. As in, thanks for breaking my fall you jerk. But the expression didn't last, as her face melted into laughter. Checking quickly if her wand was intact, when thankfully it was, the Slytherin tried to hit him playfully but missed, and slumped over the backing of the furniture. "Agh." She moaned, shoving away to grip her tummy again, "You suck." All in good fun, of course, he didn't really suck. But a breaking of her fall would have been nice, too. He was probably too startled by a falling figure to do anything of the sort.
Then again, Erys might have done the same thing. Unless there happened to be a spear directly underneath where Joshua was falling, which then she would have to save him and be the cool awesome heroine. Unlike this reciprocal image inside her head, what had been underneath her was cold, hard floor. Wobbling slightly, she approached the couch with her tongue sticking out at her friend. "I.. I was hovering and.. I fell asleep!" Laughing, only making her stomach hurt even more, Erys continued to grin, ignoring the pain.

"I disagree. Very funny." Joshua said with a smile. He watched amused at Erys' attempts to hit him playfully. Hell, if she had of warned him up there he would have been able to break her fall. As it was all he had heard was a yell then the sound of Erys slamming into the floor. Taking pity on her, he willed himself to move. He stood up, stretched, then bent down to help Erys up. Well, a more accurate description was that he picked her up softly and lay her down across the couch.
He looked down at her, still smiling. Strange, they always seemed to have fun when together. He was always smiling at her. "How did you manage to fall asleep while hovering?" The question was rhetorical, he had done the same thing last year. Unfortunately it was in Defence Against the Dark Arts, where had taken a quick nap during a detention. He had fallen on a teacher during class, who then believing him to be a dark wizard, had hexed the front row in panic.

Struggling only for a moment, Erys rolled her eyes with a smile, knowing that if she wasn't holding her stomach she'd have hit him. She hated being pitied, and would have moved in her own time. But if he was going to be so gentlemanly about it.. Arranging herself cross-legged, she continued watching him, noticing how he smiled radiantly at her. "My, you're happy today." A few minutes earlier he had looked dead, all sprawled out like a corpse in the heat. Why there was a fire only adding the temperature, she didn't know. Erys preferred it cool, adoring the fact that their common room was under the lake. That was just so awesome, much better than the Gryffindor tower. Composing herself with a quick grin, the excitement of her fall still lingering in the air, the sixth year tucked a few strands of stray hair behind her ear. "Yeah.. Was he bothering you?" Erys asked the nearby girl with a laugh, figuring she was a seventh year by how old she looked.
From up there she had seen him throw something at her, not sure if it was a crumpled up piece of paper or a pygmy puff. Looking now at the jagged ball nearby, Erys confirmed it to be parchment, not a living ball of fluff. Patting the spot beside her in a gesture for Joshua to sit, she drew her knees towards her chest, wrapping her arms comfortably around them.

"Yeah, sorry. I guess seeing you hurt yourself is just funny." Joshua smiled again, then bent to pick up the book he had discarded. He placed it on a table beside the couch and promised himself he would study later. History of Magic could wait, he only studied it because dark wizards and magical wars were cool.
"Yeah.. Was he bothering you?"
Joshua put on a false shocked look. "Bothering? I don't bother anyone." He said, then with a flick of his wand the scrunched paper flew at Erys' head. "What, is that annoying?"
Joshua laughed and took Erys' invitation, sitting beside her. Then in a strange feat of seeking comfort, he swung his body so that his legs hung over the back of the couch and he lay on his back. Facing upwards he gave Erys a quick wink and stretched out. He was comfortable again. He looked over at the blonde. "I wasn't bothering you, was I?"

"Well, at least when I hurt myself I do it with style." Erys grinned, sticking her tongue out teasingly before stretching out her stiff arms. After hearying a satisfied click, she withdrew them, vowing silently to never fall asleep while levitating ever again. She did not want to go through that again, it hurt like hell. Her stomach throbbed numbly now, the pain of it coming and going in tiny pulses. Really, Erys should have gone to visit the Hospital Wing, but since she could still function properly, she saw no need in it. She'd rather stick around and have him pelt her with more crumpled sheets of paper, much more fun than having the healer fuss over her.
Scrunching her face up as if doing that might protect it any better - when in truth, it wouldn't - Erys felt the ball of parchment make contact with her face, opening her eyes only after it dropped into her lap. Grabbing it quickly, she swung her arm back to power up her throw, hoping it might hit him but not really caring where. "Just a little." She grinned, imagining tiny cries of victory when she would whip a throw cushion at him later. Plotting her little scheme inside her head, Erys then scooched over to make room for Joshua, knowing that if she didn't he'd just push her over anyway. hah.
Looking at the blonde now, confident the answer would be yes, Erys arched an eyebrow at her friend's sudden shift, amused. He knew he was bothering her and he liked it.
