(Sooo, this is an Rp of Bray and Fay when they first met. It was their first year, so of course they are still dorks.)
Felicity walked, in obvious awe, into the Great Hall. There was a small procession of students in front of her, all leading to a chair where an old withered hat sat. Fay gasp and clasped her hands together. "Look, look! The Sortin' Hat! Isn't it just absolutely wonderful?" The other kids by Felicity gave her a weird look, and continued to walk forward. Fine, she would just talk to the bored looking kid behind her then.
Fay slowed her walk so she was walking by the bored looking kid. "Hi! Why do you look so bored? Shouldn't you be excited? We're getting sorted after all. I wonder what house I'll get. Do you know what house you want?" Felicity was starting to babble by now, but she always did when she was excited. "Oh, by the way I'm-"
"Felicity Locke![/b]
Her voice rang in the air as the professor called out her name for her to be next. "Well, that's me. Hope to talk to you again!" Fay skipped forward and plopped herself down on the stool. The hat was placed on her head and Fay began to fidget in her seat.
Whatever the hat had said to her, Felicity had obviously kept to herself. Finally, it announced 'Ravenclaw' and a cheer came from the table. Fay got up from the chair and ran over to the Ravenclaw table, a large grin on her face.[/font]

Bradyn sighed. This was a boring waste of time for him. While all the other eleven year olds were making wails of fear and excitement, he stuck out like a sore thumb in them. His hands were shoved into his pockets and he looked rather bored. He came from a pureblood wizarding family of the same house, so Bradyn knew most everything about hogwarts already. Since one of his siblings already graduated, and the other was a seventh year currently.
It took him all his effort just to keep his eyes trained on the flagstone in front of him and not to look up to the Ravenclaw table to find Mayella and her friends. She had given him a clear, harsh warning that day to stay away from her and not embarrass her. Mum scolded her, of course, and told her to be nice to him. That just seemed to worsen her wrath on the train, but she soon made her way over with her scary friends.
Barely repressing a shudder, he looked up when he heard an energetic voice addressed to him.. I mean, who else would be the bored-looking kid? "Oh, I'm excited, I guess. It's just I know what house I'm going to be in, and I don't really have much of a--.." But he was cut off when the girl scarpered, and figured that she was the 'Felicity Locke' just called. 'Hmm, a Ravenclaw too.. guess I'll have to talk to her now.' Sighing, Bray watched the excited first years go through until they finally got to the R's and he heard a loud, sharp.
"Bradyn Marshall Reed!"
Ugh, his fullname too. "Hmph." He walked slowly to the stool and sat down, still with the same bored expression. The hat barely touched his head before it called out. "Ravenclaw!" What a shocker, and he noticed that May looked a little disappointed that she couldn't disown him. Heading over to the table, he plopped down next to the girl, Felicity, that was bugging him earlier. "Ah, now you know my name. You're Felicity Locke, I'm guessing?"

Felicity watched as the other students were getting sorted. God, so many Gryffindors. She decided to look at the Ravenclaw table then, to see who she could possibly meet. Well, she seemed to be the first new Ravenclaw to join the group. Maybe that was why no one chose to spoke with her. Eh, whatever.
Fay's gaze wandered back to the sorting, and she noticed the boy she was talking to getting sorted. Bradyn Reed. I'll have to remember that. Felicity grinned again as he came and sat next to her. "Yep, Felicity Candice Locke. I usually go as Fay though." She leaned her elbows on the table. "And you're Bradyn Reed. Nice to meet you then."
She grew bored with the sorting, and turned back to talk to he Bradyn kid. "How'd you already know what house you were going to be in? Family go here before or somethin'?"

Bradyn nodded at the girl, still keeping his eyes trained on the sorting. There was a pretty girl near the end, and he wanted to catch her name. "Ah, nice to meet you, Fay." He said rather distractedly and smiled a bit. "And that I am but usually people just call me Bray. I don't mind either, though."
Seeing that the rather attention deficite disordered child wasn't going to watch the sorting, he turned to her a bit. "Yeah, there's only been a few members of our family not to go into Ravenclaw. Those that don't.. well, we don't talk about them. And so far, my immediate family's all been good." He glanced side ward towards his sister, who seemed to be talking amiably with friends, satisfied that he brother hadn't shamed them. Like he would make it into anything else, May was the only one that was labeled as 'questionable'* for her bravery.
"But what about your family? Or are you a mud--I mean, muggleborn?" He smiled a bit, trying to cover over almost calling her a mudblood. His family was rather close with many slytherin families, afterall, and he didn't have many other people for play dates. Looking up at the right moment, he noticed that the cute girl was getting sorted next and discovered her name to be 'Briar Halliwell-Vanderveer'. 'Good to know.'

Felicity nodded again, and grinned. "Bray and Fay, our names rhyme. Funny." She silently noted his seeming fancy with the Briar girl, whom she had the pleasure of meeting on the train.
"So, it's sort of a family tradition then?" Fay glanced quickly over to where he was looking. From where she was sitting, Felicity could see a girl that looked somewhat like Bradyn. Most likely siblings.
"No, I'm not muggleborn. Both of my parents have magic." Now, that wasn't a complete lie. Her mother did have some magic, just not the kind he was probably thinking of. "This is my family's first time at Hogwarts though, both of my parents went to other schools."
Felicity's family had moved several times, the last time happened to be because of her and the little fight she had with the neighbor boy. But he had it coming.

Bradyn pulled his gaze off the recently Hufflepuff sorted girl and grinned at Felicity. "Yeah they do! That's funny stuff." He said, laughing a bit.
"Yeah, I guess you could call it a tradition. It's usual for pureblood wizarding families to stick to one house, though. Look at the Malfoys, they've always been in Slytherin. And the Weasleys, they've always been in Gryffindor." He smiled and shrugged a bit. "It's just part of wizarding life."
Then he smiled broadly at her. She was a new girl to Hogwarts, aye? Well, she was lucky to have met someone so closely knit with it. "Ah, you come from a Durmstrang family or a Beauxbaton family? Well, since your new to Hogwarts, you could always ask me about it. I'm sure that I know enough, even if I don't know my way around it perfectly... yet!" Just then he silenced himself, since the sorting was now over with a last roar from a sorted Slytherin. Then headmaster Darrow stood up and gave his speech of welcome.
Soon after he finished, the food appeared on the tables and he stared at it. There was so much, he couldn't believe it. Growing up with a bunch of teenage weight-conscious girls, he'd never seen so much food in one place! "Wow." Bray said quietly, not sure where to start if he was going to at all.

"Interesting. I never knew that." Felicity looked around at the other house tables. Hogwarts was interesting, and much different than she expected.
"Ah, both actually. Mom went to Beauxbatons, and dad Dumstrang. And now I'm going here. Weird isn't it?" She laughed slightly. "Alright, I'll make sure to ask you about any question that pops into my head. You'll probably get annoyed with me after a while."
The headmaster stood up then, and started to speak. Felicity glanced around at all the other students, and noted the great respect on their faces. She turned back to looking at the headmaster, waiting until he finished his speech.
The food began to appear, and Felicity squeaked. There was so much! She wrinkled her nose in the direction of the meat and suited herself with grabbing an orange. She peeled off the skin and popped a slice into her mouth. "Dang this stuff is better than home."

Bradyn took a bite out of a chicken leg -- one of his most favorite foods ever! -- and grinned at the girl. "Yeah, I'm loaded with cultural information like that. Raised as a wizarding child, it's just kind of natural."
He laughed a bit then picked up a glass of pumpkin juice, taking a sip. "Nah, it takes a lot to set me off!" Bray looked around the great hall for a moment, seeing all the upperclassmen greeting the first years, and rather glad that he was being overlooked. It was only a matter of time, of course, until his sister and her clan would come and 'give him a welcome'. He shuddered a bit at the thought then turned his attention back to the other first year.
"Ah, an orange? What kind of dinner is that?" He laughed, eying his own plate with chicken and tatos(just for you, ally) on it. "You haven't even been away from your family for a day, and you're already neglecting your nutrition?"

Felicity grinned back at him. "Raised in a family of nutcases, so naturally I turned out rather insane myself." She shrugged lightly and popped another slice into her mouth.
"I'll make sure to kepp that in mind then." Fay followed his gaze, and noted most of the upperclassmen working their ways throughout the table. Surprisingly, both her and Bray had been ignored. Eh, whatever, who needs upperclassmen anyway.
She glanced to his plate, wrinkled her nose, and reached over to pick up a few carrot slices. "I'm a vegeterian, I don't eat meat." Felicity munched on a carrot while glancing around at all of the food.
(Yay! The tatos<3 )

"Oh dear! Should I be afraid and run away now screaming 'Felicity Locke's a nut, watch your back!'?" He said, laughing a bit and rolling his eyes. Bray hadn't known the girl for long, maybe about ten minutes, but she didn't seem to be too nutty. Or at least, he was nutty enough to match up with her, thus he wouldn't notice.
Glancing back behind him, he noticed a familiar group of 7th years had finished catching up and started making their way around greeting the old and new Ravenclaws. 'Oh dear, please don't bother me.' He thought for a moment until he was distracted by what Fay said.
He gasped a bit and looked down at his plate. It was almost impossible for him to imagine a world without meat, and his secret and rather illegal animagus growled unhappily. "A vegetarian, eh?" Bray said while grimacing. A world with just vegetables and fruits seemed like an unhappy world to him.
