After dinner on a Friday night in the middle of March, Dia did not go to her room. Instead she went to the Ravenclaw tower to introduce herself properly at the Ravenclaw Head of House. As she made her way up the stairs and was answering the door knob’s riddle, Dia was nervous and for no other reason then speaking to a large group of children. She enjoyed her subject because her classes were always small but this was going to be a much bigger scale then she could ever have enjoyed.
Once inside, she head shouting, laughing and the crackling of a fire. As soon as she entered she had to stop and look around. Not much had changed since she had been here the last time, but then again so much had changed. Collecting herself, Dia moved to the fire place slowly. By this time many had noticed her and when she was standing in front of it, she turned and faced the many faces staring at her.
Taking a deep breath, Dia locked her fingers together and laughed. "Well, I'm glad to see so many are still here," she said, smiling, "awake, I mean, and in the common room." She coughed and began to rock back and forth slightly. "Um, yes, as many of you may already know I am Professor Dia Owen and I have been appointed as your new head of house as the previous one ... um, left and I just wanted to come and say hello and that if I'm ever needed ... if there's ever any sort of emergency I'll probably be in my room but I might be in Professor Hubbles if I'm not in mine."
The silence was choking and Dia's throat had gone dry. She had not realised that she had been babbling so. Dia coughed to moisten her throat before adding, "are there any questions?"

Bray looked up from his daze on the couch. It was a good thing Profesesor Owen had came in, because obviously he had fallen asleep and was no longer doing his homework. He raised his brow a bit when she seemed just to be introducing herself. Maybeshe just wanted to help some of the younger students put a name with a face, in any case he smiled a bit. "Nice to meet you, Professor Owens? My name's Bradyn Reed.." He said, unsure of if anything should be said at all but he decided to be the one to represent that they were alive and listening.
Bray looked her over for a minute. He knew that everyone was saying Professor Hubbles and Professor Owen were together, but he didn't think she'd openly imply something like that.

Felicity was busy working on her homework, her quil scrawling elegantly across the paper. She only faintly heard the teacher come in. Fay glanced up from her work and grinned, finalyl setting her quill down. "Welcome to Ravenclaw then." She grinned and pulled some hair back, out of her vision. "I'm Felicity Locke." Most people in the school knew her already, but maybe not all of the teachers did. Noe price in being polite.
Fay bent back over her work and started to write again. She would rather finish this before she went to sleep, so she wouldn't be worrying about it all night. Felicity had a tendency to do that.

Ace had been curled up on the couch with one of her favourite books since supper and deeply enthralled in the drama. Ace enjoyed the rush of the story and was just about to get to the part where the main character finds out that the woman he loves is actually his mother's uncle's grandson's flatmate’s bother's girl friend's sister. It was very exciting but the sudden hush in the common room alerted her that someone that wasn't expected came into the room.
Looking up the sixth year saw Professor Dia Owen standing near to where she was sitting. Ace grinned widely at the professor and said in her best accent, "ello Professa." As the professor spoke, Ace uncurled herself from the couch and put her feet on the floor, closing the book on her lap. The professor was definitely trying and Ace had to respect that. She looked at Bradyn Reed and Felicity Locke when they introduced themselves and smiled at them.
"I don't know what emergencies ya could be talkin' bout, Professa, but I'm sure that if'n there be any trouble or problems the littlins are sure ta know that we older ones are always here for em." She smiled around at the older students and those her age and was encouraged by the nodding of heads and smiles she received. Ace liked to help, any one who knew her knew that about her and some that didn't knew that too. She smiled at the younger students too.

Dia held her breath as she looked around the room at all the faces that were staring at her. Dia didn't like public speaking at the best of times but having a whole house watching her was unnerving. She giggled a little and wrung her fingers together like a cloth. She didn't know what to say. She knew she had already said too much but since she had don't it already she just had to take whatever came at her.
When the Ravenclaws didn't make any mention of her extra curricular activities Dia let out her breath and realised why she loved teaching so much. She smiled at the two that introduced themselves. "Bradyn, Felicity, pleasure," Dia said with much joy. "I hope to see you in my class some time?" Dia was always open to new faces in her class. And then one all too familiar face began to talk as she always did, far too much but far too much sense to be ignored.
Dia smiled at Acelin. She was always the cheerful sort and trying to help. "Thank you very much, Acelin," Dia said gently, "and I'm sure that you and the older ones will be marvellous at helping the younger ones but I'm here for you older ones ... and the younger ones too, of course." Dia concentrated on Acelin alone and it helped with the nerves but once that was done, she looked around the room again at all the other faces, the ones that had remained silent.
