Girty’s stomach was turning over as she sat waiting for the quaffle to come into play. Her heart was pounding faster then it had done in a very long time, it was increased by the sound of the crowd cheering in the distance and Girty could not help but smile. She looked from left to right at her fellow Hufflepuff’s and gave them a wide grin before focusing on the quaffle.
Then it was released into the air, her heart stopped racing, the sound of the crowd vanished and all Girty could focus on was the red dot in the sky. Urging her broom forward she fought past the other Ravenclaw chasers and reached forward seizing hold of the quaffle. Once it was safely under her arm she moved from left to right trying to find some clear air. Looking over her shoulder she saw another Hufflepuff chaser, sitting up on her broom Girty pulled out the quaffle and threw it as hard as she could in their direction.

Effie had that sort of tingly, butterflies feeling in her stomach as she felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She loved playing quidditch, though found the fact that hundreds of pairs of eyes were watching somewhat unnerving.
As soon as the quaffle was put into play, the stands burst out in yells, various tuneless songs and vast amounts of cheering. She steered straight towards the red ball, but saw a blur of yellow speed past her to gain immediate possession.
It was Girty Hubbles, a fellow sixth year, who had managed to catch the quaffle. Effie dived towards one of the other chasers, figuring that would be Hubbles best bet of making a pass, and just about managed to intercept it, catching the quaffle in the tips of her fingers.
Flying upwards speedily, she gained the space and few seconds to suss out everyones positioning. A moment later she tossed the quaffle to a team mate, hoping that her pass would prove more successful.

Girty was horrified to see the Quaffle land in the hands of someone wearing blue. The smile went from the Hufflepuff’s face and was replaced by a look of determination. Pulling the broom around on itself she was soon facing the other direction and looked around for Effie. She did not seem to be bellow or around her, with a glance upwards she saw a blur of blue with the Quaffle. With a sly grin Girty kept her gaze up and followed the Ravenclaw above her, she did not care if she was about to crash into anyone she only had one aim, to get the Quaffle back.
Adrenaline pumped through her veins as she noticed the Quaffle had left Effie’s hands and was now flying in the direction of another Ravenclaw. Lowering herself on her broom Girty flew after the quaffle. She could feel her muscles in her arms strain as she tried to reach too far. The ball hit her figures bending them backwards with the force of the pass. But it seemed to have done enough the Quaffle and slowed down and began to fall to the ground. Diving down Girty drew closer the quaffle and brought it steadily towards her.
Levelling out she tired to gain her bearings by working out which way she was pointing and which way she actually needed to go. Once she had done this Girty looked around for a team-mate to pass it to. Out the corner of her eye she saw another Hufflepuff, so with a small whistle to get their attention Girty lobbed the ball towards them.

Maria's heart was pounding as she flew around the pitch. She had been watching the chasers for a moment before turning her attention back to where it needed to be. Looking around she quickly spotted the bludger. She flew toward it with great speed.
When she got to the bludger, she looked for a target. Not too far from her was the Ravenclaw seeker. She took her aim and hit the bludger with all the force she could muster, watching as it soared off.

With bat in hand Dax flew around the pitch waving at people in the crowd and simply enjoying the view from high up in the sky. Hufflepuff seemed to be getting off to a good start which was always put a smile on his face. It was only then did he notice that Maria was already on the attack. With a wide grin Dax flew past her with a wave and followed the bludger.
He noticed it was heading towards Andie so to help it along his way Dax swung his bat making contact with the bludger giving it extra force towards the Ravenclaw seeker. After regaining his balance on his broom Dax winced as it hit the side of the Ravenclaw.HIT - 1/10 on Andrea Riley

A regular quidditch ace only in his dreams Boggleworth always got slightly nervous before a match, he tended not to overly show it, though those who knew him best could tell the slight strain to his smile and the extra loud laugh. Things had only got worse when he'd found out Grace was to play for the Chudley Cannons, he now felt added pressure somehow, though really the expectations weren't on him so you'd have thought his life would be easier, in fact it wasn't at all as he worried for Grace, especially when he didn't even need to. Ever since her announcement he could tell they'd been slightly distanced; mainly because of himself, but he needed to place such thoughts that he was to blame, to the back of his mind, and focus completely upon the task in hand; soundly thrashing Ravenclaw.
So he had smiled around happily at his teamates who instantly buoyed his spirits with their eagerness and determination to succeed. Grace's pre-match pep talk had been excellent; just what he had needed. So with a much lightened heart he had swooped out onto the pitch to the usual tumultous applause that their team received.
Dodging a few early game bludgers Boggleworth had instantly began to tail the ever quick and resourceful Girty, who had swiftly taken the quaffle, only to lose it when she'd tried to pass back, damn Effie for staying so close to him. But Girty being so sharp had gotten the quaffle back in no time at all and he'd gratefully received the ball, taking it further into the Ravencalw lines. Swooping down low out of reach Boggleworth gave a burst of speed to dodge the flailing arms of a Ravenclaw then threw the quaffle onwards towards Girty once more; well placed as ever.

Girty let of a small laugh of relief when she noticed that Bog had caught the quaffle. Her figures will still stinging for the last incident with the quaffle and she did not wish to cause them any more strain so holding onto the broom on handed Girty made her way up the pitch looking out for any oncoming tackles, bludgers and more importantly the quaffle. As she looked sideways to Bog it was then she realised he had passed the quaffle back with ease, however she did not want to risk losing her grip once more so gritting her teeth she reached out and caught the quaffle with both hands trying to ignore the stinging sensation that was spreading through her hand.
As soon as the quaffle was safely under her arm Girty made her way towards the goal hoops. The wind was rushing past her ears as she carefully decided what post to shoot at. Deciding that she had best shoot with her left arm Girty made her way towards the right hoop knowing that in training she could only get it through that hoop with her weaker arm. Once she was at the correct distance Girty pulled her arm backwards and threw the quaffle as hard and straight as she could towards the right hoop. GOAL - 10 0

Alexis had watched the whole thing transpire in front of her. So far she hadn't had much action but her eyes were watching every second. Soon she moved as close to Girty as she could wanting to grab the quaffle from her as she reached out it her left arm she realized that she was a second too late, Girty threw the quaffle toward the hoop. All Alexis could do now was watch and hope the keeper stopped it

There was an eruption of cheering from the Hufflepuff stands, Effie seeing in the corner of her eye that Andie, the captain, received a nasty bludger hit in the side. She only hoped that would serve to wake up their beaters, so the compliment could be returned.
Girty had managed to intercept the Ravenclaw's pass, and it was soon passed along to Bog. Effie sped as fast as she could to block a line back to Girty, but she was too late and groaned to see the quaffle fly straight pass her into the right hoop.
The Ravenclaw stands were quiet.. it had not been the most morale building of starts. Effie was given possession of the quaffle, and quickly threw it as hard as she could towards another chaser, before flying further along in hope of having it passed back.

Russell had flown in front of Bog, fellow chaser, to make sure that Ravenclaw got possession of the quaffle as it was released but to no avail. Girty Hubbles got it. Rus cursed under his breath and followed her. Effie intercepted the pass and he was just about to gain the quaffle when Girty flew in front of him, nearly knocking Rus off his broom.
Rus followed the quaffle but with no luck at gaining it. Girty made the scoring shot and Rus frowned, cursing under his breath again. Effie had the quaffle now and Rus was determined. She passed and putting his full weight down he caught the pass. He turned his broom around and headed towards the Hufflepuff goals. A Hufflepuff chaser was coming towards him so Rus was forced to pass. He raised the ball above his head and passed it over to throw the chaser off. He just hoped he didn't throw his team mates off.

Effie gained a grin. That’s more like it. She thought, as the quaffle successfully reached Rus. She flew a bit higher and zig zagged on the spot to dodge away from the Hufflepuff Chasers. Come onnn.. She really didn’t want to let Hufflepuff gain any kind of early lead, Ravenclaw needed a goal! Rus threw the quaffle back in her direction, and Effie sped forwards to prevent any interception. She could hear the Ravenclaw stands getting livelier, and blocked the sound out so she could concentrate all her efforts. Gaining a firm grip of the quaffle she dived down, away from the other players and took a shot at centre hoop. GOAL - 10 10

Before the match started, Grace had shook Andie's hand, as the Captains always had. "Good luck," she had said. When Girty had gotten to quaffle so quickly after it had been released, she had realised that they would need it. Grace had turned from them and flown towards the golden hoops.
She heard cheers from the Hufflepuff stands as Andie was hit with a bludger. Grace lifted her hand and gave a thumbs-up to Dax and Maria who made a good team. But she was soon flying towards the goals. She stationed herself there and turned just in time to watch the quaffle fly through the Ravenclaw hoops. The Hufflepuff spectators cheered wildly and so did Grace.
The quaffle was thrown back into play and Effie had it. Grace was hovering at the foot of the left goal. Russell had it now, Grace was ready to move. Effie had it again and she shot just as Grace did. Grace stretched out a hand and just missed the quaffle. She shook her fist and retrieved the quaffle. "Nice shot, Effie," Grace called and threw the quaffle to one of her players.

Girty flew after the Ravenclaw team as fast as she could but to no avail. The quaffle was past from one to the other quicker then she could fly and she watched with a disgruntled look on her face as the quaffle just slipped past Graces reach. The score was even once more and Hufflepuff needed to do the hard work all over again if they were to try and win this game.
Waiting for Grace to throw the quaffle in to play again Girty hovered by the goal posts and as soon as the red ball came towards she reached out and carefully caught the quaffle. With a nod of the head towards Grace Girty pulled her broom around and headed towards the Ravenclaw goals. She looked around for bludgers and weaved her way through the other players on the pitch. It was then she decided she had carried it far enough, with a glance over her shoulder she saw another Hufflepuff chaser so with a small smile Girty shrew the quaffle backwards for them to claim.

The quaffle only just managed to get through the hoop past Grace, but it was a goal for Ravenclaw just the same. She heard the Hufflepuff captain congratulate her and Effie gave her an appreciative nod and smile back. There wasn't any time to celebrate though, as Hufflepuff immediately got back into action.
Girty sped past her with the quaffle, flying straight back over to the Ravenclaw end. Effie swerved sharply round and decided it would be best to mark the other chasers. When Girty got as far as she could go, Effie watched as she tossed the quaffle back to another Hufflepuff chaser positioned lower down.
Effie urged her broom to go faster.. the quaffle was just falling right in front of her and she was so close. She darted in front of the Hufflepuff chaser just as they were about to catch it, and snatched it from their grasp. Shooting upwards, Effie headed straight towards the Hufflepuff goals which one of her fellow chasers had already reached. She threw the quaffle in their direction before seeking a better position near the hoops.
