Nessa wanted to hurry into class and burst out an apology, but she was not that sort of girl.
Instead she strolled in taking her own sweet time with a hair flip or two on occasion.
She knew she was at least twenty minutes late and hoped she had not missed anything good. Defense against the dark arts could be fun, sometimes.
This was Nessa's first time in the class and did not know who the teacher was or what he was like. She hoped he was funny, interesting, and not an old fart.
As Nessa was looking for a place to sit she spotted Narcissa and Bellatrix. She rather liked them and with a confident fake smile she took the seat closest to Bella. She liked Narcissa a lot but she didn't know her very well yet. Bella had been the one who was so friendly back in the common room.
So she sat down and waited for the professor to return. She wondered what in the bloody hell he was doing and hoped he wouldn't notice her extreme tardiness.

Jonathan rolled his eyes as he heard several more people burst into the classroom. He leaned back round the door to stare in annoyance at a Slytherin girl who had obviously never even bothered to turn up to his lesson before, using being from another school as an excuse for being late. Typical. 'California?' He questioned with a wrinkled nose, frowning. 'Don't know how they do things over there, but here you shut up and merlin down or you won't get a ring of garlic.' He warned. Realising how stupid that must've sound he disappeared once more, ignoring the second sister's request to move. 'I don't care what you do, just stop talking!' He called back.
The door through which Jonathan had disappeared through now issued nothing but silence. Several peopled leaned forward in their chairs, straining to hear any sort of noise or hint of what their professor might be up to. Several people jumped wildly as Jonathan let forth a yelp of angry surprise, quickly appearing back into the room nursing his hand, which seemed to be bleeding slightly. He looked rather tense now, but he was trying to hide it nonetheless. 'Everyone got their garlic on?' He glanced toward Bella, Narcissa and Vanessa, seeing they hadn't. 'Good. All set then.'
Stepping aside, Jonathan gestured to something behind the door. For a moment nothing happened, but a slow creaking began as the door was slowly pushed open, the dark confines of Jonathan's office penetrated with the dim light of the classroom. A deathly, cold silence fell over the room as an eerily gaunt man stepped out from the shadows, his skin so pale and lifeless he could have been a worn marble statue. Long, dark brown hair fell around his face and shoulders, amplifying his narrowed tired eyes that were noticeably unkind, but the most startling thing about him was his mouth - and the tips of narrow white fangs resting on the bottom lip.
'This, everyone, is Cepheus.' Jonathan said with a small, concealed smile. When no one said anything, it spread into a grin. 'Has everyone forgot their manners? Say hello to Cepheus!' He teased, knowing it wasn't worth their life.

Nessa thought about screaming, jumping out of her seat, and bolting. But instead she just looked up at the hideous creature and said "Hello, Cephus, nice to meet you."
Though she was terrified she was not going to show it. She simply sat back in her chair with a bored look on her face that was replacing the terrified one.
She looked arund and noticed that everyone except her Nessa and Bella had garlic on. This made her a mite bit nervous, but she wasn't going to show it, she never showed her true emotions. That would prove her weak, which she was not.
((sorry, i fixed it... i think nessa's gonna be pretty bad at magic for a bit...))

[ Dear Nessa.. you're a firstie.. they have enough trouble levitating something.. let alone something on someones neck ]
Diana watched as the man that Professor called Cepheus walked out of his room. She grabbed onto her neck and thanked God that she had a ring of Garlic. Looking at Professor Starsmore she sighed. "Hello Cepheus," she said lightly.
His presence was actually rather alluring to the eye. Diana was quite surprised, but it made sense. He must seduce plenty of girls, Diana giggled to herself. She looked at Nessa the girl she had met one day while eating and noticed her disgruntled look.

bella fought the urge to ask the undead thing if he had been pureblood when he was alive. she thought it would sound too....well just not good.
she contented herself with conjuring some garlic and a cross, which she held out in front of her, toward the vampire, not the least bit afraid.

Narcissa, sitting beside her sister, was not worried. She was a little bit bored, but besides for that she felt no emotion. She did, however, wonder why their professor would bring something like this into a classroom. It was wrinkly, white, and it had fangs. Also, Cissy did think she noticed a sick smell about the time the thing walked in... She looked over at Bella and Nessa, and let out a giggle. Was he trying to scare them? Because if he was, it was not working. "Hello there Cepheus," Narcissa started, biting her lip to keep her laughter in.

Girty sat facing the front mumbling to her self in annoyance. “Oh no do not worry I would not eat you. Slytherin’s are so bitter and though. I like tender meat. I may actually die if I ate you, the poison that ruins through your veins would kill a dragon.”
Girty continued to mumble under her breath even as the professor appeared back into the room, but she soon stopped as his guest entered. Girty froze and could only just mange to blink to make sure she was not seeing things. As the vampires eyes scanned the room Girty gave a small shudder as they passed over her. And Girty one who was a strong believer in manors but she could not find her voice. She tried to muster a smile but it turned more into a painful grimace. It was the mans eyes that got her, the cold chill they send through her body. She did not really notice his teeth, pointed fangs was nothing to Girty and she knew she was safe with the garlic and Dax in the room, she was not to sure about the professor.
Trying to calm herself down Girty took a few deep breaths and transferred all her fear into a nervous movement in her foot. She kept tapping in on the floor and concentrated on her breathing while trying to remind herself that she was safe and that the shock would soon be over. She imagined Cepheus was a nice man, after all Girty was nice when she was not a werewolf.

"Oh, Girty," said Bella with a sickly simpering smile. "You say that like we would be upset that you would not find our bodies tastey." Bella giggled. "I'm sorry, but I don't think humans are meant to be, honey. or, puppy. Whichever you prefer."
Bella leaned to Nessa and Cissy. "At least now we know her meat preferences."

Willow walked into the class, knowing she was late, she had a very good excuse as to why she was late. She had her excuse in her hand.
Her mom had been trying to help her with simple magical chores and had recently sent her a book called "Chores for Bores" by Torin Torphic. So she had been attemting this spell on tying shoes when she had apparently turned her shoes into concrete blocks, and had to break them off of her feet.
She was a little self concious walking into class very late with broken concrete shoes in her hand and her mis-matched socks exposed for people to see. This was very humiliating. She walked in hoping to be un-noticed, however she knew that was highly un-likley.

Cepheus's eyes had instantly narrowed in distate as he'd looked upon the gathering of young humans in front of him, their sea of faces a mixed reaction. Jonathan had persuaded him to be the subject of one of his lessons several days ago with the promise of a good meal at the end of it, but Cepheus was beginning to realise he'd get more blood out of a stone than these weaklings - they were pathetically scrawny. The first one to draw his attention was a very small Slytherin girl sitting near the front, her face nonchalant but her heart beating so heavily he could see the blood pumping scarlet under her skin. She also wasn't wearing any of Jonathan's blasted garlic either. Interesting...
Flashing his fangs briefly he looked back at the room, folding his arms across his chest. Several of the girls had started bickering under their breath at the back of the room and he titled his head to one side slowly, glaring at them. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Jonathan grinning madly, staring in glee at the two Hufflepuffs - one, by the smell of it, who was a werewolf of all thing - and another who was, like the first snake, young. Her feet also seemed to be convered in conrete.
The candles lying on several tables flickered irritably, and with one accussing glance they snuffed out, washing them in a fresh darkness that was much more to his liking. 'Hello to you too.' He said slowly to the bolder Slytherin girl, who even seemed to be supressing a giggle. Like the first one she was also not wearing any garlic - perhaps she was the one he was allowed to eat later on...?
Jonathan stepped forward now, obviously wishing to break the awkward silence that had decended on them. 'This is your bloody lesson, you lot. Why don't you ask him something?' He prompted a little patronisingly, rolling his eyes at their slowness today.

willow was shocked. She was no longer worried about anyone looking at her feet, she was more worried about the subject of todays lesson. Worried is not quite the word to describe it though, fascinated, or enthralled would have been a better choice. She knew so much about these things it wasn't funny. She raised her hand. "Proffeser I came in late, may I ask what his name is?" She asked with a grin from ear to ear on her face. She never thought she should have been in hufflepuff, yes she was kind but she was also brave, and mildly intelligent. However Huffelpuff suited her well, she got along great with her fellow house mates.
These moments of adrenaline, finally coming face to face with something you'd read about so often, these were the moments anyone should live for.

Narcissa laughed at her sister. She noticed another Hufflepuff walk in the door. She didn't recognnize her, but she looked as if she had been through a lot today. She turned to her sister and yawned, glancing at the beast in the front of the class.
