The sky was dark and the castle grounds were cold and wet and because of this the corridors were full of students talking about their holidays. Heidi smiled happily as she rambled on at a Ravenclaw how she had spent 2 weeks caravanning with her family around Britain and when you had been trapped in a metal box in the pouring rain of Wales the space of this castle was far better.
Slowly Heidi picked her way through the crowds that had gathered in the entrance hall shouting to everyone she knew and waving her hands in the air for those who were too far away to shout at. (although she knew she was loud enough to achieve that) Eventually Heidi made it to the Hufflepuff common room and after running through 15 different passwords she managed to get the right one to be allowed in. Grinning wildly she stepped over the fresh hold and the warmth of the fire hit her, she jumped over towards her favourite wicker chair that sat in the corner and looked around the room, surprised at how empty it was.
Shrugging her shoulder Heidi reached into her robes and pulled out her wand and just randomly started to enchant objects around the room. Some objects started to flash different colours, a set of quills began to dance across the tables and books flew around the room like birds.

Charlie was drenched, well more than drenched, with her clothes clinging and sopping, her hair lank down her back and soaked, she looked more like a drowned rat, but rats don't usually smile like Charlie was, especially when very, very wet. People tended to flee for the cover of the castle itself when the heavens opened and the freezing cold rain fell, but Charlie had pretty foolishly chosen the eaves of the forest to hide under, they'd stopped her from being sodden then, but the rain was definitely set in, so Charlie had taken the plunge, into a deep puddle actually, towards the castle itself.
Actually enjoying the rain coursing down her Charlie had remained smiling strangely enough, which naturally got a few strange looks as others looked pretty dejected, maybe they'd hoped for a little decent weather before winter actually took hold, who knows. Leaving puddles in her wake Charlie made her way up to the common room to dry off a little, she should probably study too, but she couldn't bring herself to do that yet. Stumbling into the room she ran delightedly to the fire arms outstretched towards it, enjoying it's warmth she looked about the room, she'd kind of expected it to be jam packed and noisy, but all she was a few books wheeling about the room like birds. Watching them curiously she wondered if she'd missed some new type of book from off her school list. As quills began dancing a jig Charlie withdrew her eyes from the hearth and looked about, seeing a girl gesticulating with her wand she waved and decided she wanted to know how the girl was managing the flying antics of the books, they really did soar about pretty magestically. Not realising she was still soaked through she wandered over a small puddle forming about her feet, "hi," she said, "how're you doing that?" She asked bluntly pointing at the books.

Heidi continued to send books around the room not really paying attention to who was entering and exiting the room, or if anyone was talking to her. That was until someone stood in front of her, looking rather wet and a small puddle of water forming bellow there sodden clothes. A wide smirk filled Heidi face as she stared at her fellow Hufflepuff unable to find anything that would be suitable expect laughter. So that is what she did. The books that were flying around the room fell to the floor with a thump, the quills stopped dancing and the room turned to its normal colures.
“Sorry.” She stuttered during fits of laughter. “It just looks like you have gone swimming in the lake with your robes still on and….and you do not normally see that.”
Calming herself down with deep breathes Heidi dapped away the tears of laughter with the sleeve of her robe and reached her leg out, hooking her foot around a chair leg and pulled it closer for Charlie to sit down on. If this girl had the guts to walk around the school looking like that then she must be fun to know and have a fantastic personality. Grinning wildly Heidi looked around the room and with another flick of her wand the books flew back to where they were originally from. It was important to keep everywhere tidy, means people can not trip over stuff and the way Hufflepuff’s were that happened a lot more then other houses.
“Oh it is rather simple magic really.” Heidi blushed as she finally decided to answer the other girls question. “I merely thought that if we get taught how to make pineapples dance around tables why not other objects. The books were meant to be turn into birds but I have never been very good at that so I left them.”
