Dru laughed as Evette picked the papers off her. Its ok. That girl is a little odd. But aren't we all. She said with a smile. She took a small piece of parchment out of her pocket and examined it for a moment. She had created a two way parchment. If you write on your piece the writing appears on another piece, which was giving to a friend. It was Dru's way if keeping in touch with Roe and her other friends.
Ha, Roe has detention for making a 1st year throw up all over his homework. Laughed Dru as she placed the parchment back in her paper without writing anything back.

Maria didn't pay much attention when yet another girl had entered the common room, until the girl asked a question. Maria knew the girl's French accent; it belonged to a fifth year named Evette, someone Maria had never spoken to.
Maria was never one to talk about her feelings and other such things, with anyone who she wasn't at least somewhat close to, and even then, she was never completely comfortable with it. Maria shot the girl a mean glance for asking the question, which would have been followed up with a mean comment had Dru not spoke first. That was good.
She paid no attention as the girl's talked and got to know one another. Instead, she sat lost in her thoughts, again. OnceNaruto had left the room, however, she pulled herself from her thoughts. "A little odd...Dru, that girl is the most annoying second year in the entire school. Her name's Naruto something or other," Maria said in an annoyed voice. Between the second year showing up and Evette's question, Maria had been put in a slightly irritable mood.
Shaking her head slightly at the thought of Roe getting detention for picking on a first year, she cheered up a bit. "I'm sorry. You'll have to excuse, my rudeness," she said in a much more pleasant tone.

Evette laughed as she heard about Roe. "Lovely." Her gaze traveled over to the girl in the armchair, catching her glare. Eve smiled back, ignoring the look. "No, no. I'm the one that should be apologizing. It was awfully rude of me to barge in and ask a personal question. I grew up with two boys, so their insensitive bluntness has rubbed off on me. Have you heard of them? Brice and Aldric Rockwood? They're currently trying to discover cures for several diseases through plants. My family members are nature-freaks, including me." Evette smiled, enjoying the little label she gave herself.
Eve was not one who took jokes too personally, so she could always make fun of herself to make others feel more comfortable around her. The girl gathered all the papers together and organized them into a neat little stack. She flicked her wand and they soared over to the table next to the chair she was sitting in.

Dru laughed as Maria went on about the 2nd year. "I was just being nice, she is coco!" She said as she watched the papers fly to the table. She didn't like when her friend Maria was upset or in a irritable mood. "It's all right, people get moody sometimes. Even me haha." She said in a joking matter. She looked up at the bright yellow Hufflepuff crest, "Yellow was never my color really, I think it clashes with the blue hair." Dru tried to make light of the situation. As she always did, but she didn't mind being the one who always cheered people up, it was a talent.

Maria smiled at Evette. "No, I can't say I've ever heard of them," she said shaking her head slightly. "There is nothing wrong with your bluntness. I do understand that sometimes, one just can't help but be a little insensitive." Maria was polite, and accepted that the girl's bluntness as a simple character flaw, but she was still somewhat annoyed with her.
Maria laughed a bit at Dru's hair clashing with the house colors comment. "Dru, you can't really complain about your hair clashing with the house colors, when you can change your hair color like that," Maria said, snapping her fingers. She had always found Dru's metamorphmagus abilities fascinating; though, Dru rarely changed anything about her appearance.

Post by Girty Hubbles on Dec 26, 2007 13:21:56 GMT
Girty stepped over the thresh hold into the common room half expecting it to be empty and because of this she was happily talking to herself while reading the newspaper. It seemed to be a no news day as the headline was about how an old lady in Wales had claimed to have found the worlds oldest gnome and as a result half the paper was taken up by half the paper with experts and opinionative people trying to argue the different points of the story. Girty was quite enwrapped with the story and watching the pictures of the gnome shake its fist at all the journalists. However when the sound of other people filled her ears Girty froze and lowered her newspaper and gave everyone in the room a small glare. There seemed to be a lot of people and they seemed to having a rather strange conversation about yellow not suiting peoples hair colour. Soon her glare turned into a bemused smile and a small laugh escaped her.
“I think blue and yellow go rather well to be honest….although saying that I think that yellow goes with everything.”
They most likely did not want her in their conversation, after all she was a seventh year, but to be honest Girty was glad to see other people in the common room. She normally spent the time in the dormitories, with Dan in his office.

Dru smiled at Maria's comment. She always loved the fact that she could changed her appearance, but didn't like to act like she did much, for some reason she felt others might get irritated. "haha, thats a good point. I must say I rather enjoy being able to change my hair color and all that jazz." Said Dru as she shook her head lightly, her hair grew a few inches and turned pure white.
Dru looked up as Girty walked in the room, she knew Girty and liked her well enough. "Thanks, I guess it does say it goes together seeing as its the two colors of our crest!" She said with a laugh.

Maria smiled at her friend. Of course, Dru enjoyed her talent. Who wouldn't love to be able to change their appearance? She watched as Dru changed her hair drastically from it's usual blue. At the sound of someone entering the room, Maria looked up and saw another very familiar face. "Hello, Girty," she greeted her with a bright smile.
Shaking her head slightly at Girty, Maria laughed a bit. "True, Girty. You are probably filled with more Hufflepuff pride than anyone else in the house." It was good to see Girty in the common room. For some reason it seemed as though Girty was not someone that you just saw out and about much anymore. Though it wasn't surprising considering that most of the girl's friends had graduated the year before.

Girty folded up her newspaper and put it down on one of the many table in the common room before finally sitting down on the arm of a chair and grinned at everyone. They had a point about it being the Hufflepuff colours, which just increased the importance of it even more, showing loyalty to your house is just like sticking up for a friend or protecting a family member. As is always said to the first years when they first line up before being sorted ‘your house is like your family’ and as Maria mentioned that Girty had the most house pride Girty could not help but laugh. “It has been drilled into me, you can not get away without showing some loyalty when your brother is the head of house. Also everyone on my farther side has been in Hufflepuff. Had I not been in the house of the badger I think I would have been a family outcast,”
Girty gave a soft laugh and thought about what it would be like to be in the other houses and how he time at the school might have been different. She stared into space for quite sometime, imagining herself walking down the corridors in the different colour robes, playing Quidditch for the different houses and acting differently.

Dru smiled as Girty went on about house pride, everyone knew it was hopeless to try and show as much pride as Girty did. She thought it was a great thing to have house pride, it was fun. The friendly competition between houses, excluding Slytherin of course, was great! Dru loved showing pride for Hufflepuff. She knew she didnt show hers as much as she could."I like how prideful you are of Hufflepuff. I think this school could use a little more school spirit sometimes!" She said.
