Aidan always told Derryl that the way to get a girl was to be sensitive and thoughtful. Derryl had always teased Aidan that that was the reason why he didn't have a girl. But together they had hatched a different kind of scheme from the usual kind. They stood outside Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop and they looked at each other.
'Are you sure about this?' Derryl asked, nervous about going into the shop.
'Of course I'm sure,' Aidan replied, looking doubtfully at the shop. So they went into the shop and froze as soon as they saw all the pretty girlly things inside the shop. Aidan grasped Derryl's arm tightly as said, 'be strong, brother, we've made it this far. Remember why we're here.'
Derryl was about ready to run but Aidan was right. 'Girls dig sweet and sensitive,' he repeated. They found a table and sat down, feeling awkward about being two guys sitting at one table. 'Bring on the girls,' Aidan said, smiling, nodding his head and looking around hopefully.

Vanessa had been in the shop for quite some time now, sipping from a shiny white tea cup. It was rather small, and you could only take small sips if you expected it to last. She was dressed in a simple black cocktail dress with thin black heels, her blonde hair down in bouncing curls. This was supposedly "normal attire" when visiting with her parents. They had just left not too long ago.
Nessa scooped some sugar into her cup, gently stirring it with a spoon. Then her eyes wondered to two much younger boys. "Boys..in a tea shop?," she questioned in her own, semi amused tone.

Derryl frowned at Aidan. 'I think this one's a bust,' he complained, 'all these chicks are with guys.' He crossed his arms and smirked around the room.
Aidan had to agree with his less-witted counterpart. There weren't any lone girls anywhere. Aidan looked around as well then spotted a blond beauty sitting by herself, sipping from her tea cup delicately. Aidan nodded in her direction. 'Look at that beauty,' he said to his brother.
Derryl whirled around to see and his jaw nearly dropped to the ground. The two rapidly jumped to their feet and wrangled to get to her table first. Aidan got the upper hand and was the first to get to the blond beauty. 'Good day, my lady,' he said sweetly taking her hand and planting a kiss on it.
Derryl took her hand next, planted a kiss too, then said, 'and why is a beauty such as yourself sitting all by yourself in a place like this?' Aidan had his arms crossed and was watching his brother, a proud smile on his face.

Vanessa nearly burst out in laughter towards their reactions. From thirteen or fourteen year olds, she found this rather cute. Just not in the way the two had hoped.
"I just got done meeting with my parents, actually," she said, grinning from one to the other. "About my wedding," Nessa then said, pulling her hand gently away to stir her tea once more.
"How old are you guys again?"

When Aidan heard she had met with her parents his arms dropped to his sides, his eyes went wide and his jaw dropped. What smacked Derryl to the floor, though, was hearing that she was getting married. 'Ma- married?' he mumbled, confused.
Aidan picked his brother off the floor by his collar and sat him down on a chair. 'I'll have you know we're thirteen and seven months,' he said proudly. Derryl truly did have a thing for blonds, Aidan concluded when he was that Derryl was still gapping open mouthed at the beauty.
'And how old are you?' he asked, also taking a seat. 'You don't seem old enough to be getting ma- married.' The word stuck in his throat. It involved kissing and commitment and girly things and Aid didn't like any of that. Except the kissing.

Vanessa kept a rather amused expression, finally removing the spoon from her tea cup. They seemed to be in shock by the very thought of marriage. "I'm sixteen myself," she said, raising her eyebrows towards them. This kind of thing was normal in her world.
"It's actually a pre-arranged marriage, so I've yet to meet my fiance. But I'm going to be engaged soon enough, and will marry as soon as I graduate," Nessa said, head tilting to the side. "Aren't your parents going to do the same? You're both very cute."

'An arranged marriage?' the twins barked in unison. Derryl was on the floor again, fallen backward off his chair and landed with his feet in the air. This was too much for his little heart. Aidan didn't even look at his brother as he lay on the floor. He took a glass of water off the table next to them and splashed it onto Derryl's face then he leaned on the table and shook his head. 'We're only thirteen, you know,' he said like it was a perfectly good reason for his parents not to arrange them marriage partners.
'That doesn't sound like much fun,' Aidan admitted. 'If I ever get married,' he pulled a face which screamed I'll never get married, 'I'd want it to be for love. That's what Mum and Dad always say: "marry for love and the rest will follow". They got married straight after Mum graduated because they knew they would love each other forever.' Aidan was a romantic at heart and looked dreamily into the blonds eyes as he spoke.
Derryl spluttered water and something incoherent but stayed on the floor. Aidan glance at him and nodded, 'Ry asks what if you don't like the guy. That'll be a problem, won't it?' He blinked curious blue eyes at the beautiful blond girl who was arranged to marry a perfect stranger.

Vanessa didn't see the marriage the same way these two kids were. "My marriage has been arranged since my birth," she said with a frown. "It's just the arisocratic way of doing things, I guess," she said, rubbing nervously at the back of her neck.
"In my family, you don't marry for love. You marry to keep the pureblood name pure, and to collect money," she said, taking another sip from her tea. "If I don't like him? Well, sometimes, in that case..you'll find someone else to marry. But most of the time, you have to stick with it. When I become married, I won't get much say anyway. That's just the way things work."

Aidan nodded thoughtfully as she spoke. 'That sounds terrible,' he said cheerfully. He stared off into nothingness day dreaming of weddings. 'We're purebloods,' he pointed out, 'and if you don't like the chap you could always marry our brother. Rus would be more then happy to oblige a beautiful thing such as yourself.'
Derryl stood up, wiped his face off adn sat back down on the chair. 'Do you know this fella's name?' he asked. He didn't know why but it fascinated him that people still did that. He was glad his parents were so fixated on love but he thought it was cool to gain money from a simple thing like a marriage. If he could make money he would get married everyday.

Vanessa smiled towards the other two, giving a small laugh. "You guys are making me blush," she said, then regaining posture. "I'm sure a girl in your own year, however, would be more suitable for boys such as yourself," she said, glancing back towards one of the waiters. "I'll have another cup of green tea. Would you two like anything?"
But after the talk of tea, she turned back around. "Of course I don't know his name, but I do know that his family is in Hendricksville. Kind of strange, isn't it?"

Aidan and Derryl pulled their faces at each other in disgust.
'A girl?' Aidan groaned, like he was going to throw up.
'Our own age?' Derryl groaned in the same way. 'Yuk!' they said in unison. The thought alone was enough to make them both gag. Tea was offered, 'just normal tea, please,' Aidan said for the both of them. They were still feeling sick form the "girl" and "own age" comment.
'Hendricks-what then?' Derryl asked, very confused.
'Hendicksvile, idiot,' Aidan said, nudging Ry in the side. Aidan turned back to the beauty, and asked raising his eyebrows at the same time, 'when will you meet said hunky-hunk?'

Vanessa gave a small laugh. "I don't know what's up with you two and older woman," she said, shaking her head. She passed their cups of tea over and then took a small sip from her own small cup. "I'll be meeting him tommorow afternoon, at this very tea shop. Then we'll of course have to have an engagement party, but I won't get married until after graduation. I don't really want it to happen, trust me. And if I find any better looking guys, I'm not holding back."
She let a sigh escape her lips, swirling a metal spoon around in her tea.

Aidan greedily accepted his cup, Derryl took his time. They drank it as they received it and savoured the taste. No one could make tea like their mother could but this was pretty close. 'I'd come here just for the tea, Derryl laughed.
'There's nothing with us and older women,' Aidan protested and Derryl finished, 'only they have a thing for us.' The twins shot each other mischievous smiles. 'We have to fight them off,' they both said in unison.
Derryl chocked on his tea when he heard how soon she was to meet her Price No-Name Charming and Aidan patted him on the back. He took a sip and asked, 'so soon?'
'Bloody 'ell,' Derryl said, 'what if he's mean?'
Aidan gasped, 'what if he's a -'
'A Gryffindor?' Derryl finished lifting a hand to his mouth. 'That would be awful.'

Sarie wasnt sure why she came here but she got a cup of tea. She saw three Slytherins sitting a table away. She only looked up becasue the 2 boys that where sitting.
'what if he's a -' 'A Gryffindor?' 'That would be awful.'
She ingoned them and went back to her tea. She didnt understand why the Gryffindors and Slytherins never got along. There was only one thing different and that was thier thoughts on Muggle-borns. Sarie didnt see the big deal but when had her thoughts mattered.
