Gabriella stared at the letter in front of her. He was right. It was time for the two of them to meet and attempt to organize more formally the Rogue Wizards but it didn't mean she would be happy about it. She was being childish perhaps, but she was a lone wolf and that was how she worked: alone.
The thought that she would actually have to watch some old fools back along with her own made her cringe. She scowled, he seemed intelligent enough, but if he even thought of slowing her down with his weak knees or something she would show him just how formidable she actually was.
She glanced around the busy pub thankful that the majority of the population here today was students. The two of them would be safe for the afternoon.
She once again read through the letter-you'd think she would have had it memorized by now-analyzing ever little detail and looking for any sign that she was walking into a trap. But just like every other read-through she found nothing. Something about the manner in which he wrote made her want to trust him and believe in him. Somewhere in the back of her mind she understood that the two of them would be a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps, just perhaps, the Rogue Wizards would finally garner some political control.

The streets of hogsmeade were as bustling and busy as ever, students milled about gawping into shop windows, drooling at the huge variety of sweets and jokes available. They waited impatiently chattering non-stop, but began pushing and shoving in their haste to escape the drops of rain starting to fall. It was merely a drizzle but Gobien guessed people would soon dive for cover, a few spots of rain were harmless, but the gaggle of Gryffindor girls streaming past squealing that their hair would be ruined, seemed to think otherwise, and Jake had to admit, their hair was pristeen at present, luckily for them they had the use of umbrella's for protection, Jake had and needed no such luxury.
Shamelessly winking at the girls as they passed Gobien strode onwards, it was a simple way of attracting less attention, being there but not so much talked about if he were to be caught hiding in the shadows.
The rain continued steadily as Jake swiftly approached the rogue rendevous point, musing over De Conti, his fabled colleague; if and only if he made a good impression. They were alike in many ways, both solitary hunters, fierce and passionate, rugged and weathered from years of exposure to the elements. Their lives had been a struggle, yet still they remained resolute in their task; the destruction of the corrupt Ministry; by any means possible, sacrifice was even an option that Jake had weighed up.
Jake had been in collusion with De Conti for a number of weeks now, yet in reality he had been keeping tabs on her throughout her life, he knew her history as vividly as his own; being a spy for the ministry had its benefits. Entering the pub Jake scanned the room, weighing up as doubtless De Conti had already down; the risk factor in the room. Most were clearly young students enjoying their first few butterbeers, yet some were older and could easily be Ministirial spies; he'd have an eye out, he needed all his wits about him faced by De Conti anyway.
On entering the pub Jake immediately adopted a persona, one that was very much like his own personality, but with one added bonus and security, feigning marriage with De Conti. He revelled in the fact that she might be uncomfortable with acting like a married couple, he needed her on edge, wary but most importantly he needed to take advantage of the situation, though they were equals he knew both would vy for leadership.
"Darling," Jake cried jovially rushing at his beloved wife with a wide ecstatic smile, "I've missed you so." Then for what he had been eagerly anticipating; the kiss, he made sure it was long as a newly wedded couples kiss would be. Smirking as he released De Conti he winked at her, exclaiming loudly once more "It's been far too long," Hugging her he whispered with sealed lips, "we'll talk in private".
Jake was a master at taking on a persona, anybody there would simply believe that they were a recently married couple, which had many advantages, not least that they could far easier talk in private. "Oh Mrs Harris how I've missed you." Taking her by the hand Gobien gently coaxed her towards the bar. "The ensuite room please, under the reservation of Mr and Mrs Harris," He shook with visible excitement squeezing her fingers gently and giving her a quick peck upon the cheek. With any luck the persona adopted by them both would foil anybody trying to track them.

Gabriella was shocked to the core at his abrupt entrance. She, however, didn't let that show on her face or anywhere in her outwardly appearance. She returned his warm smile, "I have missed you more so then even the stars can imagine." She replied with a light laugh.
He was quicker and brighter then she had imagined and his knowledge of the ministry would come in handy. She knew the two of them would be an amazing team. She glanced around inconspiously to amke sure they weren't being followed. Their fake newly-wed status would only work on those who knew not what they were looking for.
She looped her hand in his arm and smiled up at him. "I love it when you call me Mrs. Harris. It seems like I waited so long to hear those words." She said and leaned against his shoulder.
She grinned at the barkeep who seemed to think they were absolutely adorable. She nodded along as the person prattled on about how we reminded him of he and his wife when they first got married.
"Thank you kind sir for hospitality and your wonderful stories." She said waving to the man as he strode back down the hall. She watched till he was gone before slamming the door behind.
"Try to give me a bit of warning next time before you snog me," She said as she sat down in one fo the chairs. "I commend you though, especially since Quinn and her hound dog are possibly still in the area. "

As the clearly delighted and enthralled innkeeper led them to his best room, and regailed them with his own tales of holy matrimony, Jake smirked, pouncing upon the opporunity, not only to deter suspicion but for pure enjoyment at the expression she was likely to give, as he slid his arm round her slim waist. The innkeeper fumbled with a large bunch of jangling keys, Gobien took careful note of where they were kept; either upon his belt or on a peg during the day and presumably within the small padlocked cupboard at night. You never knew when those might come in handy; he guessed they used anti-jinx measures, but seeing the more shabby appearance of 'The Three Broomsticks' than he remembered he guessed not. As the door swung open upon its iron hinges the innkeeper bustled them in smiling and saying "enjoy your evening." In a most distrubing manner, which Gobien of course had to reply to; "oh we plan to."
As Jake had guessed the masquerade was ceased as soon as the door was slammed shut upon its squealing hinges; if this was the best ensuite room then Jake was sorely disappointed, even though he had been unaccustomed to pleasantries for a number of years, he still maintained high standards, the peeling wall paper hastily put up was disgusting, and masked the far nicer wood beneath. Even the ancient, rustic, wooden floorboards were covered up by numerous tatty rugs. He could instantly tell that this place was barely touched, and guessed the innkeeper had fobbed them off with the worst room, he'd thought it easy to get one over a married couple too immersed in wedding bliss to notice the state of the room. There was always a downfall with a disguise, and that was it; even the single chair were ancient, De Conti had to perch upon it for presumed fear of it crumblign beneath her; which Gobien found highly amusing.
"Ah but my dear we are a young married couple, what did you expect?" he mockingly chided with a grin. "No matter, the snog, though I'd prefer to call it a kiss, was as beautiful as I expected, I knew you'd be an excellent smoocher so the plan of foiling any people watching will have doubtlessly worked," he spoke confidently to encourage his companion, but decided it better to be truthful from the start; she'd respect him for it.
"With the number of Ministry officials about, the liklihood is that we were seen, at least by a spy, but they're usually quite incompetent these days, there are far too many, so the training has suffered immensely," He explained, "Deitrich has put a major emphasis on having as many spies as humanely possible, yet they're far weaker because of it, so with any luck they won't get onto their superiors quick enough, or else none even noticed in the first place." As Gobien had spoke he settled himself lying down upon the bed, "I need a lie down on something half comfortable," He explained with a smirk realising the mattress was old and worn, the springs were even pushing through the worn material.
"Possible?" He responded incredulously, "unforunately I believe it definite, they will never stop hunting you those pair, a formidable team if only they actually worked together, and Locksley not actually against her apprentice. She was always like that though, brilliant at the job; just can't teach it, doesn't give an ounce of encouragement, which is what a young mind needs. Yeah I half thought of becoming a teacher once, life would have been far simpler had I done that, but the excitement is what we live for is it not De Conti?" He chuckled squirming upon the four poster to find a more comfortable position, but to no avail.
"You're quick witted aren't you?" He complimented, "many others would have collapsed from such a sizzling kiss," he teased.
"I must say I'm amazed you've eluded Locksley for so long, it really shows your mettle, a formidable witch for sure."

"A kiss hmm?" She said smirking. "Far too romantic of a notion don't you think?"
She smiled at the room. It was likely the nicest placed she'd stayed in for a long time. The Forest had it's perks but the fact that she had to sleep ina tree or not at all did have it's downfalls.
"I've noticed the amount of imcomptent ministry fools as of late. Some of them are almost as ridiculous as the Red Roses. Doubtless many of them will just be shocked at the blatent display of affection to actually be capable of doing something. No matter if your skills are as high as you boast I think we'll be able to escape just fine."
She smiled feebly at his obvious disdain. He was most certainly not impressed with the sleeping quarters. "Best I've had for a while; I've been laying low as of late. I had some pressing engagements in the Hogwarts forest so I've been in that area night and day. It's not very comfortable." She said smirking. She waved her wand, muttering an incantation, and the springs were pushed back into the mattress.
"Quick-witted?" She replied with a light laugh. "I pride myself on it. And I would'nt have wanted to disapoint you either. I never expected one so old to be such a grand snogger, sorry kisser. I suppose it's all the experience garnered in your many years.
"We'll have to cover tracks well also. That apprentice of hers can track anything with a large amount of skill. I believe that's the only reason Quinn actually tolerates him; I myself couldn't deal with someone so ludicrous. Then again; I probably couldn't teach anything if my life depended on it. I would more then likely spend three-quarters of the class showing-off; it's what I do. I'm terribly conceited but I've learned to live with myself."

Lazing upon the bed Jake responded with a gruff laugh, "a kiss romantic, I hardly think so, if it were then really it will have befuddled the Ministry with any luck. A kiss is very sweet, do you think it romantic as only your one true love has kissed you in such a way before, meaning I am your one true love," he teased lips spreading into a smirk.
"This will make me sound as old as you seem to think I am, but honestly back in my day the situation wasn't nearly so dire, Aurors were actually fully trained and experienced, thugs weren't hired off the streets," He exagerated, "though really I'm surprised they're not hiring muggles for more manpower, they're obsessed with have quantity over quality I must say. The Ministry truly is in a state, but don't think the Red Rose League is so dismal as it may at first appear, its a facade they love to maintain, we become far too complacent, and unlike Rogues, who admittedly can be obvious from our dress and rugged appearance, they could be anyone, yet they have chosen only the best I believe." He nodded sagely but added wryly "Oh but I don't boast, what skills I have will be made known by actions and not merely words. Though words are always very useful to spread a reputation; especially the spoken word, I find it sticks in people's memories easier."
Chuckling as she noticed his apparent detestation of their surroundings, he agreed "indeed I've fared little better myself, I didn't encounter you in the forest, whcih just goes to show how large an expanse it is," he chuckled "I've had far more comfortable surroundings before now, but in the end I enjoy our life, or should I say line of work? If you can really call disruption spreading a profession?" His smile continued to broaden as De Conti remarked about his kiss.
"Many many years of experience, with countless people. Yet I wasn't dissapointed, I've had much better and far worse," he teased "maybe next time I won't take you so unawares."
"Greenwich is fabled for his tracking ability and incompetence as you say, yet his mentor is too heavy handed with him, he won't come to fruition and cause much worry for us, and neither will she, so long as we're careful." Laughing at De Conti's comments upon the two hunters he smirked "yeah I feel sorry for you being chased by the pair, dastardly duo really."
"Yes I realise you're conceited," he smirked "but aren't we all really? I know I can be, but you may as well have confidence in yourself, as nobody else will really, me I know I'm a damn good spy and I flirt constantly. It helps in my line of work." He explained "though I'd flirt anyway to be truthful."
"So De Conti, how can we impair the Ministry's vision? How the hell are we going to kill Deitrich?" He asked his anger immediately flaring as it did whenever he thought of her. Smirking he smoothened his furious features. "Well that's the long-term aim anyway. We at least need to depose her, somehow, she's the head of the corruption, without her the Ministry can begin to heal."

"No need to feel sorry for me being chansed by the two of them. I'd be insulted if they sent anyone else." She said with a slight smirk. "Me and Locksley; we really aren't that different. Equal wits and equal skill with a wand and occlumency along with legillimens. If we didn't hate eachother so much we could've made quite the pair." She said laughing in spite of herself.
She smirked slightly, "Indeed I don't know what I would do if you weren't in my life oh love of mine." She replied; her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Gabriella winked at him as he spoke of kissing her when she was more aware. "Perhaps. I just might need revenge for that quick kiss back there though; you'd best be on your toes Mr. Gobien."
She smirked at his obvious hatred of the Minister for Magic. "So what to do about her and the corrupt ministry?
"We have to garner some popularity with the people otherwise we won't succeed. We also need more members and further organization.
"Right now the Rogue Wizards are simply random groups and loners much like ourselves; every one of them looking for their own share of power. We need to find a way of meeting together and convincing others to join. the population likes the notion of the supposedly selfless Red Rose League who fight for the people and what not. They're largely considered heroes.
"Rogues however are treated with disdain and not just because of our outwardly appearance. The people believe us to be fighting for our own self-interests and think that if we throw down the ministry and replace we'll probably be worse. We have to find a way to change all that otherwise we'll be going no where. We can't be viewed as a small group of blind ambitious fools."
She thought for a moment. That was their station in life at the moment yet how could they change anything. The Wizarding population was notriously traditional and she doubted they would enjoy much change.
"We need to get someone in the Daily Prophet to join us," she said thinking aloud. "We need to use propaganda better then the ministry even can; change our outlook and how we're viewed."

Gobien smirked "really I find it far easier to go without being chased by true professionals, I'm not insulted to say the least, beneath their radar more than yourself I can in effect be more effective at thwarting their plans, I've been employing hit and run tactics for a while now, they're not terribly efficient and unfortunately don't cause widespread chaos, but they suited my needs, up until now. Honestly I believe I prefered being hounded simply by thugs, you had the hard job of escaping them pair all these years, i don't envy you a jot, but then why would I? I'm a handsome chap who's got everything going for him, the world is my oyster," he murmered sarcastically. I'd be afeared if those pair really did get together, against each other they don't cause such mayhem, all their pent up anger and frustration is unleashed upon the other. He mused.
Deciding to continue the joke Gobien took her clearly sarcastic words as truth stating, "without you I'm nothing darling, you're the something or other of my dreams, tobacco in my pipe," he decided randomly.
Laughing good naturedly he raised his eyebrows and countered "I take that as a threat, thankfully I'm always on my toes and keep both eyes peeled and ears pricked, people rarely sneak up on me, except that time in Edinburgh, damn that lady nearly got me there, it was a real close one." He smirked vividly remembering the memory as if it were yesterday.
Gobien listened silently as De Conti outlined their plan of action, he nodded sagely believing her words to be truth. "It's really too true," he agreed "we're scattered, divided and generally without a single leader anywhere, even in small groups we quarrel over leadership, I trust we won't have the same problem here?" He mused with a twinkle in his eye; he knew how ambitious De Conti was, she would fight bitterly for leadership, tooth and nail if necessary. "I bow to thee as leader," he smirked knowing she would be overjoyed but rattled by his backing down immediately, little did she know that he had a well reasoned plan.
"Ah someone on the Daily Prophet, I thought you were heading that way," he grinned speaking truthfully, "yet that could prove tricky, swaying a reporter over to our cause, they could so easily betray us. They're a fickle bunch reporters, I'd never trust one, but there may be one I'll trust to be untrustworthy. I'll look into that if I may?" Smirking he added curteously "if those are your orders?"
"Yet I urge caution, what if they do double cross us? We musn't allow ourselves to become easy targets, but expect the unexpected; a trap of some sorts. We need someone who detests the Ministry perhaps, but Deitrich has cut down many people in general who make their thoughts and feelings known. Also I see a major flaw in your plan; how can they write good things about the Rogue Wizards? The Daily Prophet is run and censored by the Ministry." He looked at De Conti thoguhtfully hoping she had an answer, as he wasn't sure about this proposed plan, it was risky, yet they were accustomed to risk, each and every day.
"We can make it work," he agreed smiling more broadly now. "Were you thinking of the same man as I? Fitz Hargreaves? Or did you have another in mind?" He questioned deciding he'd leave the ball in her court, she was now, afterall, the leader.

"You see that's the difference between me and you. I have far too much arrogance while you have just enough." She said laughing slightly. She had thought about working with Locksley once. The two of them on the same team could likely mean that they were both on the winning team; the thought didn't last much longer then that. They hated eachother and that was that.
"Tobaco in your pipe eh? I'm glad you think so highly of me; I don't what I would do otherwise. My self-esteem might reach catastrophic lows; Merlin forbid that that should happen.
She thought for a moment. He was right; reporters were notriously fickle. They wrote for the highest bidder and that certainly wasn't them. He was also right in the fact that Fitz Hargreaves would be there best bet to actually right something worthwhile.
"I checked Fitzy out a while ago." She said switching to her buisness tone once more. "He's a Red Rose; we'll never sway one of their lot. They believe in something called loyalty; a trait our group deeply lacks." She said frowing slightly. "We'll have to be careful about that; we can't risk the problems a betrayal would cost us. We'll have to find a way to hold our group together; that could be our biggest problem."
She smiled as he handed the leadership over to her. She didn't trust him one bit; the old man more then likely had some other plan in the back of his mind. Eventually, however, they would have to settle for a leader. She hoped it was her and she would fight for it to be her. She knew she could lead this group well; if it wasn't then it wasn't she would still remain loyal to her peers. "Indeed," she replied casually.
"Have you ever heard of a country called Rwanda?" She said slowly. "It's a little known, mainly muggle, African nation that a few years ago was gripped by civil war and genocide. The group with the pull of the people? The Genocidaires. They butchered 800 000 Tutsi's in a few months because they, with the help of propaganda, convinced the civilians to help with the carnage. Now I'm most certianly not proposing a genocide but what is important is how they did it. The government forces gained power by not making themselves look good but by making their adversaries look bad. They made themselves seem like the victims and the Hutu population of Rwanda sympathized with them. Granted they already did have a history of hatred between the two groups; they were still civil towards one another though.
"So what I'm proposing is that perhaps if it was reported that a Rogue Wizard was seen crying over their house being burnt to the ground or something. And incidently enough all evidenc pointed towards the Red Rose League or the Ministry.
"It's risky, and because the greater wizarding population don't believe that the paper is God it could prove dificult. BUt they followed the prohphet blindly before; who's to say they won't do so again? We could also create our own paper; try to make it as legitimate as possible as well so that the people actually believe what's happening. We could have the one paper that isn't controlled by the Ministry possibly?"
"So you trust him to be untrustworthy? Well then, do whatever you want." She was going to play leader for now if that's what he willed. She hated to being forced to work with this scoundrel; she hate that she had to trust him; she hated that she would need to rely on him.
"Another idea is that we can get the youth to join us; kind of liek the Hitler Youth only less dictactorial. I'm positive we could convince a few ambitious Slytherins. I also understand you have an alcoholic Professor friend at Hogwarts; I'm sure the students love him. What's the likelihood he'll actually side with us?"

Gobien smirked, she was quite right about him; he had enough arrogance for people to be able to believe fully in him, only with a certain amount of arrogance and self belief could anybody truly believe him, he had sufficient to be fully trusted when necessary. "I prefer to call it self confidence, though it works like a charm, be it arrogance or simply confidence, unlike others I dare say we are neither too over-confident." leastways I never am, he thought still testing the waters with De Conti, he couldn't trust her, though he knew she was in much the same position as he, she was more trustworthy than most towards Gobien, yet he would never allow his trust to be gained easily, if at all.
"Indeed your ego could diminish somewhat," and we'd all be better for it; the same with me, "and oh the heavens where would we be without your self-esteem eh?" He chuckled wryly talking in a sarcastic manner.
"Loyalty can never be bought, even by the highest bidder," countered Gobien more so wishing his words were true than actually believing the truth of them, "only through time and perseverance can we sway people to our cause, it will be a long drawn out process, changing people's attitudes and values can take years. I for one wish to topple Deitrich sooner rather than later. I shall work upon Fitz Hargreaves, perhaps we can use him wisely, whilst he believes he meets his own ends still."
"I know my history pretty well," he grinned listening intently as De Conti spoke out, he busily analysed her plans, they had strengths but also weaknesses that were critical for them to address. "It's definitely a possibility, I'll give you that, but we need to make it plausible, making our own paper would again be time consuming, it is a task we must start off with, but I propose we take some action now. Whilst a paper is being organised, either via taking control of a reporter, or manufacturing our own, I deem it necessary that we persuade others to join our cause, not just humans, think on it, the centaurs are seen to dispise our race, they detest our presence on their land, all I have to do is lead the Ministry to them, that is simply one plan, other disruption we can easily cause as well. I think we both realise it necessary to juggle many tasks at once to increase our effectiveness." He smirked "it looks like my juggling lessons may actually come in handy then."
Gobien bowed seriously when De Conti dismissively allowed him to speak to Fitz, "I'm already onto it."
Chuckling he pondered upon De Conti's idea a moment, then smirked "it sounds like a fine plan to me, younsters are more easily swayed, all they need to believe is that power or glory await, that's what you think isn't it? In some cases it's true, but really they are as complex if not more so than us. But we can at least give it a damn good try."
Gobien rolled his eyes as a rather touchy subject was mentioned, he sat up on the bed, now seemingly more alert, more agitated as he grumbled, "Ah you know of my old friend then? I've delayed meeting him, no I'm not afraid, simply unsure of how he will react to me, trust you to know if him." He shook his head in wonderment knowing that in her shoes he would have done as much research into his past, if not more; in fact he knew her past in acute detail, leastways as much as records and rumours would allow. "I shall meet with him shortly until then I know not how he will react to me, he was always difficult to read in a way, it's hard to explain, we knew each other well yet he still managed to hide things from me, the same as I did from him I suppose."
"Have you anyone you can wrangle favour with? At the castle or otherwise? We could do with all the help we can get; as long as they're trustworthy of course."

"I have learned that if you show you have enough confidence in yourself people will believe what you say no matter what bull-crap you tell them. It's helped in the past," she said shrugging your shoulders. "Not to mention to survive among the Ravenclaws and raise yourself above them you have to have a large amount of arrogance. It's funny most people consider us Ravenclaws as shy bookish nerds who want only to expand our own knowledge of the wide world. And yet the majority of us are more competitive and ambitious then most Slytherins. We're just far more intelligent and subtle." She said laughing lightly. It was true, to an extent.
Gabriella studied her ally for a moment; she swore she could see the gears in his mind turning. She guessed he was far more ambitious and far more intelligent then he let on. After all; he had been one of the first elite spies of Dietrich. She frowned inwardly and immediately commenced using occlumense praying he too lacked subtlety while using legillimens.
"Are you that good at manipulating? Or is Fitz Hargreaves incredibly daft?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "He is writing for the Daily Phrophet after all; we can't exactly write terrible things about the ministry." The Roses were notoriously loyal
She nodded along as he listed his ideas; also glad he knew his history. Inidividuals often negleted the importance that the past has upon the future and how knowing the events of history could possibly work to their own advantage.
He was right though; their own paper would take time and would be costly. It could possibly be their safest bet however; they would be in control of what was written and how it was written. She brushed the idea off to the side for the moment deciding to give good ol' Fitzy a chance.
"The centaurs would be dangerous; if they found out their were being manipulated to do wizards work they would not be impressed and the consequences could potentially be catastrophic. They are not unintelligent being and I deem them far smarter then I and that, Gobien, is truely saying something.
"Although I definitely agree we should gain the trust and respect of the magical creatures. Having them as our allies would aid our cause immensly. Congratulations. You're smarter then you look." She said smirking at him. "You're right about the youth; they're far more complex then I could ever hope to be now. Puberty does that to them, all the raging hormones and what not. Not to mention the majority of them have no firm beliefs and don't always understand the reality of this war while they spend ten months of the year inside Hogwarts. To influence them you have to influence the people they trust and like which is where your charming Professor friend comes in. And a quick side-note; by youths I mean ages 15/16 and up otherwise it's just cruel, ineffective, and slightly dangerous.
"Meet with him as quickly as possible. If you're not sure you can trust him it could be dangerous but that's life. By the sounds of him he has had no previous affiliations but who am I to say anything. I didn't go digging into his past." She said standing up. She began to pace back and forth; it was a habit of hers that had started when she was young. She needed to be moving to think and the constant motion calmed her nerves.
She thoguht for a moment. She didn't have anyone she trusted to bring over to their cause. Most of her friends were dead or had already betrayed her. "Not particularly no; my parents are far to old to be calavanting across the countryside." She said laughing slightly. "I could seduce a few guys to join but that generally creates awkward situations and betrayals. Although I'm sure there's a few I might be able to trust; who really knows though...legillimency and occlumency have never particuliarly been my strong points. Also, if it is possibly, it might be worth our while to try to get the wandmaker on our side as well. They're always quite powerful and I'm positive she could aid our cause in many ways." She said and sat down on the bed beside him.
"Nap time," she said laughing silently. "I think that's enough thinking for meeting number one aye?"
