Arising early as was his custom Gregory had begun his menial task of patrolling the forest boundary; with a gusto, he was ever the optimist and believed such menial tasks developed his attributes of patience and of course the vital ability to follow orders. He soutly believed patrolling was a crucial duty that his colleagues nonetheless saw as unfit for them, some even went so far as to laze about in the morning or have a long leasurely breakfast, Greg had no such desire for such unnecessary pleasantries. The Minister of Enlgihtenment had put paid to that though with harsh disciplinary acts introduced; of course Greg hadn't been afflicted by these, being perhaps the most rigorous student desiring to perform his duties to the letter; without question, it was a flaw of his, rarely would he question an order or utilise his own initiative.
Yet now was the time for his short break, he needed a freshen up havign fallen face first into dirty great big puddles; not once, not twice but in fact dozens of times. His robes were mud splattered and filthy, he felt disgraced to dare wear a Ministry badge with pride upon his chest; at least that was polished to perfection allowing the sunlight to gleam off it and blind his enemies; or make them aware of his presence from afar.
Stumbling into his base of operations he scowled about the darkened room; always even at midday the place was dark, it chilled him to the core, except for the roaring fires usually kept burning into the night.
Performing his mandatory sweep of the room his eyes alighted upon a pair huddled into a corner, they were chattering away pleasantly, but an instinct told him to check up upon them, so taking a deep shuddering breath, he cleared his throat loudly and advanced...

Sitting in a darkened corner of the room with a young pretty girl, Gobien had thought he could relax, that he was safe for at least a little while. Yet his luck wasn't with him, his hopes of a bath were soon to be cruelly shattered.
As Jake agreed that drinking leftover butterbeers found in the street was "indeed really digusting, though the taste was still as exceptional as ever, how anyone could leave it I don't know. I suppose some people have far more money than sense really, though I have neither." He joked, "neither do I have much need for being responsible, with no children, that I know of, except little Charlie of course," joked having curiously always wanted a child with that name; boy or girl.
"I can't believe it, you didn't go to the last dance!" He cried incredulously, "shame on you," he tutted jokingly "you've ruined your families esteemed reputation." Smiling broadly he realised that was perhaps such a comment geared towards family could inflict more pain than purposed, about to apologise he was forstalled with the entry of a young hound, thirsty for blood; Gregory damned Greenwich. He should have known he was onto his trail, being solely good at tracking and nothing else besides, in fact Gobien was inclined to agree with De Conti; that Gregory was quite incompetent. Eyes withdrawing suspiciously under his brows Gobien reacted on instinct, time seemingly slowing to compensate his movements, swiftly turning his back he dragged the unsuspecting Kellcie into a kiss, making certain his own relatively distinctive features, due to how handsome they were, couldn't be seen. As he drew Kellcie in he whispered quickly "sorry, desperate measures."
With any luck Greenwich would walk right on by, if not Gobien wouldn't go down without a damn good fight.

Greg had had little reason to be suspicious of the pair, other than their wish to remain private in a darkened corner of the bustling pub, but something snagged, the way the girl's eyes had grown ever so slightly wider as she had been drawn into the kiss, perhaps he had simply taken her by surprise, but wasn't she a lot younger than he? He was determined to get to the bottom of the mystery. Stepping up to their table he cleared his throat loudly to attract their attention.
"E..excuse me," he interupted his voice as clear as a bell compared to his usual appalling stutter. The way the man had conciously turned his back upon him gave Greg reasons for his suspicions; added to that the rather bedraggeled appearance, shabby to his eyes; as if the man had been forced to sleep beneath the stars for many a night.
Regulating his breathing to an easy rythm he spoke calmly, "I..I need to ask you a few questions sir...please don't turn your back upon me."

"Oh well im sorry, dances just dont appeal to me" She laughed. It was true, the whole dance scene was not in her tastes. Wearing a dress and parading herself in front of the whole school was not her idea of a good night. More like a nightmare in the making. Though she knew her mother loved the dances, but Kellcie wasnt a dancer like her mother was. "I'll be happy if i ruin their damned reputations"
Just after that, Jake had pulled Kellcie into a surprising kiss. Though she knew what it was about so slipping her arms around his neck she pulled him closer to her, trying to keep an eye on the guy too. As he came over Kellcie pulled out and put his head on her shoulder, falsing a fake groan, then looked at the man. "Do you mind!" She scorned. "Can you not give couples their peace, or are you ministry folk going to arrest young couples now too for showing public affections, now if you dont mind, i would like you to leave us in peace"

Greg was startled by the girl's reaction, it was mildly agressive which suggested she was hiding something, and still the man didn't turn around. He was definitely used to people's exasperation at apparent Ministry inteferance in every day lives, but instinct suggested the girl was trying to cover up for the man, whatever it was, it couldn't be legal or else he wouldn't be hiding so.
With a look of consternation, shock quickly slipped from his features, "I cannot leave; Ministry regulations," he instructed simply, "I must check up upon any activity deemed to be suspicious." He smiled pleasantly down at the pair though a thought crossed his mind, which he even dared to voice, he was feeling particularly confident today, "you're hardly a young couple," he guffawed, happily laughing at his own joke.
Bringing his merriment under control he ordered curtly, "please sir, turn around to face me."

Kellcie sighed. She knew this inquisitive ministry person would not leave them alone. "Please.. Leave us? We dont often get to see each other" She tried the nice route. She didnt know if it would work but she herself actually wanted him to leave, she didnt feel comfertable around ministry folk herself. "Done you think it would be more rewarding for your position if you were actually doing something rather than quizzing members of the public?"
"How is what were doing suspicious?" Kellcie queried, wondering how two people enjoying a drink in the three broomsticks was suspicious at all. "Does it matter? The age difference between us both?" Kellcie raised an eyebrow, "I dont see what is funny..." She realised she didnt know his name, "Can i at least have your name?"
Kellcie looked over at Jake, "if you give me yours, ill give you ours" she spoke. Smiling at him she added, "We have one night together until he has to go back and work with my father. They work with particular creatures, if you saw my father, you'd notice him harbour the same gruf appearance"

Seeing extracting information was becoming increasingly difficult, his accusing eyes bored holes into the ignorant man's back as he continually refused to look at Greg. Settling his gaze upon the young woman his brow creased in confusion; perhaps she really was just telling the truth? All he had was a hunch, was his instinct really sufficient to press the matter further? Possibly to breaking point? About to leave them in peace and harmony the words of Locksley herself floated into his mind, as ever eager to give out advice and point out his shortcomings. Though your instinct may be untrained as yet, it will eventually get better, so trust it, always always follow your instinct. She always came out with such pearls of wisdom, and he was glad he recalled them in such circumstances.
"I'm afraid I can't j..just leave you b..be. I've duty," he explained his voice firming with his gusto and determination of fulfilling his role as protector of the people. "The sooner my questions are answered...truthfully...err..the sooner you'll be able to get back to..to whatever you were doing." He spluttered, "oh and in answer to your question he's suspicious as he won't even look at me," he pointed an accusatory finger at the rough looking man. "So please sir, turn to face me."
Hoping the man would eventually comply with his not harsh request, he divulged crisply, "my name is Gregory Graham Greenwich, Magical law Enforcement Apprentice to Quinn Locksley Hit Witch of the Magical Law Enforcement Squad. Brother of Chloe Georgina Greenwich Witch of the Magical Law Enforcement Squad. Son of Harold Jacob Greenwich, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement for twenty three years. Son of the now deceased Caroline Sophia Greenwich Hit Witch of the Magical Law Enforcement Squad." He finished reeling off his proud family and beamed broadly, feeling a surge of pride for comign from such a background. "And you are?" He asked rather snidely.
