Cass wandered down the pathway making her way to Hogsmede on her lonesome, dressed still in her long school robes that gentley dragged on the ground if she were to bend her knee's, her long black hair up in a high ponty tail although her fringe still getting blown into her bright green eyes by the wind.
Humming to herself as she continued to walk, nearing the entrance of Hogsmede Cassy stopped and felt for something in her pocket, now she had thought about it she wasn't sure how much money she had actually brought with her and thought it best to check while she could still turn back.
Counting her Galleons, Sickles and nuts, she was satisified with the amount she had in her small coin purse and pushed it back into her pocket continuing on walking, once again humming to herself.

Layla wandered through Hogsmeade, trying to find anything to do that would help her get out of that horrid castle. Okay, perhaps the castle itself wasn't sos bad... but the people! All of them acting like they knew her just because they knew where she was from. Or at least pretending to... It was so irritating. And what was worse was she couldn't tell them they were wrong because her accent gave her away. She sighed... if only there were a spell that could adjust you ennunciation.
The chill October wind whipped her hair into her eyes, much to her annonyance. She tried pushing it behind her ears, throwing it over her shoulders, but it just did not want to cooperate! Finally she gave up and braided it, tying a red ribbon at the end. She made her way through the Hogsmeade streets wondering what entertaining things there were to do in this little village when she caught site of another student who was also wearing Gryffindor robes. She made her way past small clusters of fifth years before tapping the girl on the shoulder...
"Hi, I'm Layla. I was wondering if you could kind of tell me what there was to do around here?" she asked meekly. She wasn't usually a shy person, but to be honest, this whole school and anything associated with it unnerved her a bit.

Turning around as she felt someone tap her shoulder Cassy looked to the girl who (she noticed) was also in Gryffindor robes. Her eyes lingered on the emblem for a moment before returning to look to the girls face and the question that was put infront of her. Raising an eyebrow she gave a small laugh and a semi helpless look.
"I'm actually wondering the same question. I take it that you are new around here too? It's only my third day at this place and so far you're the only person i've talked to"
Cassy said with a laugh, she herself had a light candian accent that most people mistook for being american, i suppose it did sound very similar but people and their assumtions just annoyed her.
"I'm Cassy by the way, my friends, that i dont currently have here, call me Kitty" She added with a grin, that was what her friends back home had called her for as long as she could remember, ever since the accident involving her growing Cat ears... She was never allowed to touch her mothers wand again after that.
"It's good to actually talk to someone"

Layla laughed, "Well isn't this a case of the blind leading the blind?" she thought with a smile. "Yeah, I've been here a couple weeks but this is my first visit to Hogsmeade," she said with a shrug. She looked around at the groups of students walking around, talking and laughing and enjoying themselves so freely. She couldn't help but feel a bit of homesickness remembering her own friends back home... but this was her home now... at least for the moment.
She returned her attention to the girl beside her as she introduced herself, "Kitty? Sounds like there's got to be an interesting story behind that nickname," she chuckled softly. She breathed a sigh of relief, glad to have someone else new around here that she could sympathize with... other than Telbor. L'epine. "I couldn't agree with you more, Kitty," she said with a grin. She noticed the slight hint of an accent in Cassy's speech and felt compelled to comment, "You're not from around here either, are you?"

Cassy laughed at the comment about her nickname, it was different that was for sure, but then again alot of children had small incidents when a wand wrongly entered their hands, a friend back home of hers called Mia had accidently turned her kitten into a jar of frog spawn.
"Mmm yeah - she laughed - Lets just say my mother never let me touch a wand until i started school after that incident. I accidently gave myself a pair of brand new ears when i was four."
Cassy grinned, it was an odd story to anyone who wasn't magical, although being a pureblood she had never really met any of them, living in a magical town kinda ruined all chances of meeting muggles, especially when there were charms around the entire place.
Kitty sighed at Layla's next question - "Nope definatley not from around here, i grew up in Canada and moved here because my dads going to be starting a new job at the ministry here or something.... It sucks having to start all over again, im just glad i found someone who i can share the suckyness with"
Cassy laughed with a smile, she was positive her and Layla were going to be good friends.
