Russell had clean forgotten about a very important date. It was life threatening and so dire was his need he skipped class and went to Hogsmeade to go find a present for his sister. It was her birthday in two days, if her could just get it and send it before the day was out, he's be in the clear. Otherwise, Laura would never forgive him.
He walked into one shop and then straight out again. "That's not it!" he mumbled to himself. He entered the next shop and exited it just the same. "She's too much of a girl to appreciate that kind of heavy armour." Russell sighed, running a hand through his dishevelled hair. "Where, oh, where should I go?" he said aloud in frustration.

Lisa smirked as she followed a strange boy out of yet another building. She had been lounging in one of the Quidditch shops, pretending she had enough to actually buy something, when a Ravenclaw stepped inside only to exit immediately after.
Curious, she had followed him to a few more shops, laughing to herself as he did the same thing each time.
"Well, I'd reccomend something but I'm positive you'll just walk right out again," Lisa said cheekily, pausing behind him and tilting her head to one side.

Hand still in his hair, Russell turned to see a gryffindor standing behind him with her head tilted and a haughty smile on her face. He studied her for a moment, lion on prey, then stood up straight, straightening his robes, and cleared his throat.
"Anything you could recommend would be helpful," he said slowly, looking at some of the shops around him. He was at a complete loss at what to do. The twins were no help and he couldn't write his parents to ask because Laura was always the first to read the letters from school.
Turning back to the girl, he smiled at her and relaxed. "Would you help me?" he might have sounded defeated but for the pleading in his voice. She's a girl, he thought, she'll be able to help.

Lisa pretended to think it over, placing a finger over her lips and tapping them thoughtfully. She had been intensely bored for the entire Hogsmeade trip and figured his company would be greatly appreciated... though she found his anxiety a bit humorous, she walked up to him with a thoughtful stride.
"I suppose I could," she said, glancing at him with a smile and adjusting the bag over her shoulder. "In fact, I'd be happy to!"
Walking alongside him, her attention was drawn to all the different shops as she decided which one to reccommend. "So, what exactly is it you're looking for?"

Russell watched the gryfindor intensely, worried that she might actually say no. He frowned was she walked towards him but sighed heavily when she agreed. "Thanks a lot," he said, joining her in her walk. "It's my sister's tenth birthday and I have no clue what to get her. And if I don't get her something, she'll never forgive me."
He looked at the many stores and was overwhelmed by the options. "I just don't know what to get her," he said distractedly, burying his hands in his pockets. He couldn't bare the thought of Laura being angry at him, and those enchanting blue eyes staring at him waiting for the present she wouldn't get. It made him frown deeply. "I have to get her something."

Lisa nodded as he explained his stressed state. "Oh, I understand," she said, pausing next to a shop. Placing her hands on the window, she peered inside it with a critical eye before shaking her head. "No, I'm sure you don't want to get her anything with the potential to burn your house down..." She said as an after thought, parting with the shop and returning to his side.
"Let's see, what would a ten-year-old be happy to recieve." Her immediate thought was chocolate, but surely Russell would want to get his sister something more original.
Lisa tried to remember what she had recieved for her tenth birthday. Plenty of Quidditch action figures, a toy broom and chewing-gum wrappers from her sister. Frowning, Lisa decided it was worth a try.
"Does she like Quidditch at all?"

Russell laughed when Lisa joked about getting something that would burn their house down and shook his head. "That wouldn't do, no," he said, running a hand through his hair. Quidditch! he thought. "If only," he said, sighing and burying his hands in his pockets again. "She keeps saying how silly it is so no, she doesn't."
“But what do ten year old, non-quidditch loving girls like?” he asked more to himself then anything. He pondered it for a second then remembered something. “She does love to read.” It seemed silly to add that fact but it was the only helpful (if at all it was) thing he could think to say.
