Aurora walked into the staff room. She had just recently arrived and had decided that she needed to work on lesson plans. Walking over to a large table she sat her books down and took a seat herself. Preparing her a blank parchment, she opened one of her many books and began deciding what she should teach the students.
After a few minutes, she became tired of looking through books, and closed the one in front of her. She was starting to doubt whether she had made the right decision by deciding to teach. She had become so accustomed to dealing with the dragons personally, she didn't know if she would be able to just teach a bunch of students. Students that Aurora had the feeling, she wouldn't get along with very well.
From what she had heard that blood purity meant almost nothing to most people here, and the thought of that greatly disappointed her especially when she considered the fact that her own niece went to this school. She could only hope that the girl would be smart enough to know what type of people to associate with, but that was highly unlikely knowing her. Aurora sighed at the thought.

Arista had just coming into the staff room after a slow afternoon. It seemed as though the kids decided they would do anything stupid and dangerous today. She only needed to mend a bloody nose and a hair growth charm gone wrong. It was bliss. Her feet didn't hurt, and she wasn't yawning every ten seconds. Life was good.
She pushed open the heavy staff door door with her hand as she was to lazy to plunge her hand into her robes to pull out her wand for such a menial task as opening a door. Arista smiled as she walked into, noticing a new face in the room. Arista was basically new herself, being only at the school for a few weeks.
The healer clunked around in the cabinet pulling out a tea bag and her favorite purple mug. It was chipped in the handle and had a large golden flower one it. It made Arista smile. Arista flung back her long black braid, swearing as she got her finger caught in the cabinet door.
Finally using her energy to reach in for her wand, she filled the cup with hot water with a flick of her wrist, and submerged the tea bag. Smiling as she walked over to the table, the steam riseing into her nose, filling it with soft smells of tea, she sat down across from the new woman. Placing the cup on the table, she introduced herself.
"I didn't know we were gaining a professor." Arista said with a smile and she extended her hand out across the table. "Arista Otis, high master healer." She said sarcastically. Arista thought, she didn't think there we any openings. What could this woman possibly be doing here. Had Arista inferred wrong that she was indeed a professor? "What exactly will you be teaching?" Arista asked, taking a sip of her tea, loving the feeling of the warm liquid slide down her throat and rest, still warm, in her stomach.

Aurora had watched the woman get her tea and shook the her hand when she offered. "I'll be teaching Dragonology," Aurora said with a smile. "I'm Aurora, Aurora Turolia. High master healer huh?," she said with a smirk. "Yes, I do believe Dragonology will be a new subject here." The thought of being able to teach people about dragons made her realize that maybe this place wouldn't be too bad.
It felt strange for Aurora to be here in such a mundane place, have such a peaceful conversation. It would definitely take some time for her to get used to things not always being exciting and chaotic. "So, tell me, as school nurse you've probably seen many of the students, are they a danger to themselves and everyone around them, or are they well behaved little angels," she asked curiously. "I haven't actually gotten around to speaking to students yet."

"Oh." Arista said, she eyebrows raising with surprise. "Dragons." Arista said, still slightly surprised. There had never been anything like this at Hogwarts. It seemed like a more Durmstrang-y thing to her. "Will the children be working with actual dragons?" Arista asked. As healer of the Hogwarts community she could imagine the work load she would have to deal with after ever Dragonology lesson. It wasn't exactly appealing to her. Arista wasn't fond of burns. It was her down fall. She could healer a broken bone or a poisoning with a snap of a finger. Burns however always took her longer, even in school.
Arista laughed. "The children are...fun." Arista said searching for the correct words. With a smile she continued. "No they really are good kids, but what do you expect at a school for witchcraft and wizardry. Most of them are curious, a little too curious if you ask me, but they all mean well." Arista said with a laugh. Well most of the them mean well, except for the certian bullies who enjoy filling up her wing with boiled, bruised, bleeding, or rather hairy patients.
"Oh, you haven't gotten out there yet?" Arista asked. "When did you arrived. Honestly, as I mentioned before, I had no idea you were coming. Enjoying your stay so far?"

Aurora face lit up at the thought. She became suddenly curious of how opposed the authority figures would be to the students working with actual dragons. "Maybe, I could get a small dragon here...a baby of course. That is an excellent idea, Arista. I hadn't even thought of it," she said with a smile. She was curious of how opposed the authority would be to it. She had after all taken care of dragons for years, so there shouldn't be many problems with it.
Aurora laughed a little at Arista's statement. "I highly doubt if they all mean well. If I remember from my school days, there are always some students who cause chaos just for their own entertainment," she said with a smile. She should know she had always been one of them.
"Well, I've only been here a couple of days," she said thinking. "And I always prefer to get my work out of the way as soon as possible," she said picking up her quill and jotting down notes about the possibility of getting a small dragon to bring for her class. She could of course have some of her former co-workers bring her one. What an excellent idea! "I was just writing up some lesson ideas."

"Oh!" Arista said, faking a smile. "I'm glad I could be of a assistance." Arista could have kicked herself for the suggestion. She wasn't even suggesting, it was just a question. She didn't say Hey, you should get a dragon, because kids hurting themselves everyday isn't enough for me to handle. Perfect."Oh, no, you will find a certain few who get a laugh out of teasing the younger years, or house quarrels." Arista laughed. "But I guess it has always been the same. I remember when I was here, not so longer ago, we Gryffindor's certainly beat up on any helpless little Slytherin in sight." Arista laughed.
Arista remembered those times before she had chosen her new group of friends. Boy, those bullies she had hung out with were indeed cruel. She hadn't seen anyone like that at Hogwarts at this point and time yet, but Arista was sure it would only be a matter of time.
"Oh, well, I'm sure you will find the big old castle nice a warm, just like home." Arista smiled. Hogwarts was her home, and she loved it here, however she wasn't sure Aurora would ever feel quite the same way. Arista could already tell the women did not see eye to eye.
"Well, whatever you come up with, I'm sure the kid will latch right on to the subject." Arista said, however she had a feeling that many student would be skeptical of the subject, as she was. "Have any other brilliant ideas so far?" Arista said, peering over the table onto her sheet of paper.

Aurora could tell the woman wasn't too happy with the thought of students and dragons. She knew how to tell when someone was lying. It was a very valuable skill. "Of course, I assure you I will take extaordinary safety precautions. You needn't worry about any dragon injuries from my classroom. I have plenty of experience dealing with dragons," Aurora said with a smile.
"Yes, I believe, I could get used to it," she said looking around the room. "It doesn't seem like a bad place. And it's supposed to be an extraordinary school and seeing as how I've always wanted to teach, I do believe I will become comfortable after some time." It might be nice to have a bit of boring for a while. She definitely needed a safer profession for a while, and besides if she didn't like it she could always quit.
Noticing Arista trying to see the parchment Aurora sighed. "Not particularly. I seem to be having a hard time deciding what to teach, what order to do it in, and how to teach it efficiently. Although, it will all come together eventually."

"Oh." Arista said, assuring Aurora. "I have the utmost confidence in your ability to keep these children safe." Its the children's ability to listen to instructions I worry about. Arista truly had no doubt that most well behaved students were in very capable hands, however, there where always the chosen few. "Oh, Hogwarts is just like home to me." Arista said, taking another sip of her tea, leaning back in the chair comfortably. "You will grow to love it, honestly, you will." Arista said, looking around the dirty staff room. She smiled at the dust. The house elf protest was continuing. Ever since she arrived the layer of dust on the tables and chair had been prominent and she wouldn't have it any other way.
Arista noticed the paper was basically blank. Sitting back in her chair, lounging again she nodded her head. "Well," she said with a laugh. "I think you should start teaching them about Dragons." She said with a smile, an obvious answer, but she wanted to try and loosed Aurora up a little.

Aurora smiled at Arista,"Yes, of course, yet another excellent idea from the school nurse. Definitely should teach them about dragons." Aurora looked around the dirty staff room, still smiling.
Looking back down at her blank parchment she sighed. "Hmm...I just do not know where I would begin." She opened up one of the books in front of her, but quickly closed it back. "Oh well, I will do this another time I suppose." She hadn't considered the fact that coming up with lesson plans would be so difficult.
"I do wonder, Arista," she said looking around the staff room once more. "Doesn't this school have house elves to clean it?...It's not that I think it's filthy or anything, just a bit dusty."

Arista laughed. "You should start at the beginning." She knew she wasn't helping at all, but it was a logical place to start. Any way she was half kidding.
"Oh no," Arista laughed again, looking around the room. "The house elves refused to clean the staff room. Apparently something our lovely muggle studies professor did to them." Arista shrugged her shoulders. Fagin made her laugh, she rather enjoyed him. "I don't know the full story, but I promise you the rest of the castle is immaculate. Not to mention the food is amazing." Arista loved feeding times. Food was a very good part of her life, which consisted of sleep and healing in addition.
"I take it you didn't attend Hogwarts as a child?" Arista asked, seeing as the Professor was rather dumb about the school. "If you need to become acquainted with the school, I suggest the reading of Hogwarts, A History. It is rather interesting."

Aurora smiled a bit at the Arista's statement. "Yes, the beginning is always a good place to begin. But what be considered the beginning when teaching about dragons? That is what I need to figure out."
Aurora looked around the room again with a strange look on her face. The house elves refused to do something. She had never heard of such a thing. Every house elf she had ever seen did exactly what was asked of them. This place was so strange sometimes. "Yes, well as long as everywhere else is clean and the food is good, I'll be alright I suppose," she said her face returning to it's normal uncaring expression.
"No, I didn't attend school here as a child," she answered. "Is it that obvious?" She was quite glad of the fact. In her opinion her old school was much better than this place seemed to be. She made a mental note of the title of the book. She would definitely have to find it and read it. She needed to better understand this place.

"Only slightly." Arista laughed. She had spent most of her life in the hallowed halls of the castle. She had grown to love it and become part of it. She did not know very many people who had attended Hogwarts that didn't grow attached.
"If I may ask you," Arista didn't want to butt into Aurora's personal business. "Where did you grow up? I've never really met anyone who didn't attend Hogwarts."
[lame post, sorry.]

Aurora was surprised that Arista had never met anyone that hadn’t attended Hogwarts. She couldn’t imagine such a life. She had met so many people from so many different countries with so many different backgrounds that she often forgot that not everyone lived the eventful life that she did.
“I grew up in Spain. Barcelona to be exact,” she said with a smile. She had never even considered staying in Barcelona her whole life, but just speaking of her former home made her miss it quite a bit. “And I went to a very small, very exclusive wizarding school near Murcia.” Her former school had been so different from Hogwarts. They didn’t accept mudbloods. It was much more beautiful. And it was much much smaller. However, she had heard that Hogwarts was one of the best schools in the world and was willing to give it a chance.

"Spain!" Arista said, sitting up straight, suddenly very interested. "Ive alway wanted to go to Spain." She sat back and sighed. "It must be beautiful there." Arista smiled. She had always wanted to travel the world, but lets face it, with some many siblings, her family never had much money to go anywhere. By the time she had gotten through Medischool, it was to late. She needed a job, and needed to be a grown-up. Still it is Arista's hope to one day go somewhere new and exciting.
"An exclusive school?" Arista said, wrinkling her nose. "What exactly do you mean? Did you have to do something special to get in?" Arista thought it was probably like a muggle prep school. You either have to be really smart or really rich to get in. Most of the times it had to be both. Not to mention have the right family background and family connections, which she assumed meant no muggleborns. She was slightly offended, but it wasn't Aurora's fault.

Aurora smiled at the interest the woman showed when she mentioned Spain. The woman was quite right, it was beautiful there, but Aurora had always known she would never spend her whole life there. "Yes, it is beautiful," she said with a faint smile. She had always had this great desire to experience new and exciting things. That was probably the reason she had started working with dragons in the first place.
Aurora noticed the way Arista wrinkled her nose as she asked about the school. "You don't exactly have to do anything to get in. Although I suppose it helps if your parents did. Only the very top of the social ladder are welcome...and of course the few who show extraordinary ability above that of their peers," Aurora said thinking back to her days in school. Aurora decided it best not to mention the exclusion of mudbloods in her school, since she was almost certain that could be a potential reason for the woman's nose wrinkling. She wasn't here to make enemies and it was always best to keep as many of opinions to yourself when that was the case.
