She thinks she knows

Kim had gotten used to being back now, she had kept herself mainly to herself like she used to. She knew things had changed and that the wind blew through her dark hair differently. In a lot of ways, she had changed. Not all for the better either. Some of the things she had done while she'd been away, some of them seriously rivalled the bigger things she had done here, most of which the memories of those days seemed to have faded in peoples minds, thankfully.

She walked through Hogsmeade, away from Helia's shop, her head held low, her arms folded across her chest. Her dark hair blowing gently in the wind that had picked up. Her eyes scanning the floorshe walked on. Her boots making slight treading noises. The night began to fall on hogsmeade and there wasnt really anybody around. Kim wasnt ready to go back to the castle yet. How long till you run away again? a question nagged in her brain, she knew she couldnt. The whole reason she was back wasnt because she wanted to be, more to the point she had to be. She had something to do, something she couldnt let anyone know about. She just hadnt yet figured out how to go about it.

Her eyes glazed over as she lost herself to the thoughts. She hated what she was doing, she felt she was... Lieing. Still, she had found she was getting pretty good at lieing right now. She used to be a person, you could respect if you wanted to, well not really, but lately, she had became a person even she didnt like. And she always liked herself, even when she knew something wasnt right, or she shouldnt be doing something. She never really cared for peoples opinions on her, that was one thing Kim could honestly say hadnt changed about her. As for the rest, well...

Kim didnt look up until she reached a wall she could lean on, hidden slightly by the shadows, she just stood and watched as people left hogsmeade, going back to the castle for their meal.

[Brian Chase]

"Loaner," Brian said as he stood beside her. "I kinda know how you feel." he added. "Being gone so long you don't know anyone. The past being forgotten, and so many dead wizards who we once despised or disliked." he said, mostly talking about himself. "Look at all of them," he said pointing to the young children playing as they traveled back to the castle. "Just think, we were once like them." he said with a slight chuckle.

Loner.

The word echoed inside her mind. The voice seeming somewhat familiar as Kim had yet another blast from the past. She turned her head around to notice Chase beside her. "Loner by nature.. You know how it can be" She said in a quiet, calm and serious tone. Kim listened as he commented about her being away for so long. "The past is always fogotten, just another page in some peoples history, some who cant or dont want to forget. It doesnt matter who you are, or how long youve been away, winds change... As do people" Kim dropped her head, her hair falling infront of her face.

So many dead wizards who we once despised or disliked.

"People die... Its how it is, nothing can change that" Kim looked up and at the kids that were playing around as they made their way back upto the castle. Some things dont change. "Young, carefree and restless... Not a clue in their heads about the immediate dangers that lie out in this world." She spoke in a calm way. A way she never used to speak. Kim had changed, she was no longer the arrogant, violent, pumped up girl she used to be. She was more observant and calm. "Things are changing fast... the worlds moving on... People are changing, people have changed..." She laughed a bit when she realised she didnt sound like she was making any sense "No your right... I dont know anybody anymore... Only me"

[Brian Chase]

"I never forget the past," he said looking down at his dirty converse. "The past haunts me every time I close my eyes" he said looking back up. "I just wish I had an easy going life again" he said thinking about the very common nightmare that he had every night when he went to bed.

[Kim Rivers]

"No, neither do i..." She said, she remembered the past, not that she wanted to, but it seemed to her everyone else had. "Life's never easy Chase, i thought you'd have learnt that by now" She laughed a little, "Something always comes along to complicate it, why would that change?" She asked, turning her head to look at him. "It doesnt haunt me anymore, i learned to deal with it... Got used to it being a part of me" She frowned and looked back down at the floor. "Did it hurt?" She asked, "The memories of the past i mean" She didnt look back up at him, she kept her eyes on the ground.

[Jerred Boneman]

Hearing two muffled voices from somewhere near, Jerred was curious as to who it was. He walked slowly along the tree branch and peered back the branch and who he saw made him catch his breath. He heard the two peoples words and felt sympathy for them, then with a grim smile on his face, Jerred flung himself from the tree and landed lightly on his feet nearby, hearing the last few words spoken. He stood fully and walked over to them and smiled.

'The memories of the past may hurt us, but as long as we try our hardest we can make sure we do not repeat past events.' Jerred said, not introducing himself like he normally would. 'The saying, "Forgive and forget" doesn't always apply, but forgetting is a bad thing, but forgiving isn't.'

Jerred turned his head to look at Brian. 'Now is the time to forgive, but not forget as we tend to make the same mistakes again. Brian, I apologise for everything I've done to you.' Jerred said, continuing, his tone serious. Looking away and smiling, Jerred couldn't help but laugh. 'And where have you been for so long, Kim?'

Kim looked up at a familiar face. She glanced back down to the floor, it would seem most people were still around and if Kim remembered rightly, Jerred did have a habit for showing up when you least expected it. "I didnt realise you were so... adviseable... What has the past couple of years done to you?" she joked.

"I dont have any plans of repeating past events, though trouble does have a habit of running up behind me" She looked at Chase, but her head snapped up when she heard Jerred apologize to him, the last she'd known, they hated each other... But a couple of years could change anyone. "Where i have been?" She asked with a laugh "Answering the question where havnt i been would be easier... I left... I went travelling... I didnt have much plans to come back here but... Funny where you end up"

[Brian Chase]

"The memories of the past always hurt, but I don't have to deal with them during the day. They haunt me at night." he said, suddenly seeing Jerred walk up and say stuff about forgiving and forgetting. Kim and Jerred were talking,but Brian wasn't. He shut his eyes and quickly the painful memories struck as he was haunted with the memories of dead wizards, and muggles. This was one thing Brian could never forget.

Kim looked at Chase, saw him with his eyes closed. She gently laid a hand on his arm, "You alright?" She asked. The three of them stood together reminded her of the older days, back when most of them were more or less inseperable. She looked back to Jerred smiling at him.

[Brian Chase]

Brian quickly opened his eyes and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I am okay." he said clearly lying, and he knew that both of them would know.

[Jerred Boneman]

'Come on, Chasey, we all know you're too proud to admit to a little too much pain, besides I know you're an attention seeker, so why not take a chance to be in the limelight again?' Jerred said with a cheeky grin, clapping his hands together. 'Come on, spill the beans and then you can move on with your life and entertain an entirely new section of memores, ones that won't cause pain.'

Jerred then looked at Kim and looked weirdly at her. 'After all this time, you still think of me in that way?' Jerred said, a mischievous grin slowly growing on his face as he spoke, remembering way back when Kim was still around. 'Or what we could be doing later?' He laughed as he spoke. 'Just kidding, I'm only joking, being friends is cool with me.'

[Brian Chase]

"Fine, you want to know one of the many memories that haunt me!" he said pissed off. "The second time I left Hogwarts was to travel alone." he said stopping for a second. "I was in an area looking for a town disturbance. When I got to the town they were all dead. The women were killed try to protect their children, but they failed. The men's bodies were thrown in a fire, and it wasn't just wizard that whatever this was killed. Their were muggles as well.

[Jerred Boneman]

Jerred looked at Chase. 'And that frightens you? I know how such a scene could frighten anyone except for the most of the dumbest gits out there, but there is a time where you say to yourself, "I'm going to get over this and move on, but before I do I'll find out who did it." Once I reckon you found out who did it, get your revenge or whatnot then you'll feel better and no more nightmares.' Jerred said, reflecting a passage he had read when he younger, despite not knowing it word for word.

[Brian Chase]

"The man who did it is now dead. That doesn't mean it will be any better." he said annoyed at Jerred. "I don't care what you really think, I can deal with it myself." he said, not really meaning it. "If I do want your help, I will ask for it."

[Jerred Boneman]

'Now that is the sort of attitude that made me do bad things to you, the whole "Lone Wolf" saga again...' Jerred said, crossing his arms and looked at Chase. 'NOw, whether you like it or not, I'm going to help you get over it, so just don't beat around the bush and just... accept some damn help when offered, alright mate?'
