Shiela slept on the floor inside of the cave where she remained hidden during daylight hours. Her massive bulk took up very little room inside of the cave, which was magically created for her by her mind linked partner, Addis. She looked up at the small hole of light further away from her than she would've liked and saw that nothing was there, despite her senses saying there was.
She growled deeply, letting off a puff of smoke, slamming her tail on the ground, the pillars of stone around her shaking slightly as she stood and growled deeper than before.
Her senses revealed that someone she did not was in her cave, doing what she didn't know, but they would soon find out that the occupant of the cave was indeed there.

Elijah sighed angrily as he rushed into the mouth of the cave. The downpour had caught him off guard completely, and although he had only been out in it for a few moments his robes were soaked to the skin, leaving him shivering violently, his hair dripping wet. For the first time in months McNevin had failed to show up at his and Elijah's secret rendezvous in the middle of the forest, and not even a hidden message or sign had been left as an explanation.
It was mid afternoon and Elijah had skipped his DADA lesson to be here. Now he was literally an hour away from the castle in the middle of a violent storm, trapped in a cave that acted as a wind tunnel. A dreadful gust swept into the shelter, ruffling Elijah thoroughly. 'Brilliant...' he muttered bitterly, retreating further into the cave so as to escape it.
This stretches back quite far, he thought as he lit his wand, holding it before him as he walked. I wonder where it goes...

The wind that swept through the cave reached her nostrils, the smell of a human male invading her cave, his body dampened by the rain outside. Shiela carefully walked forwards, her tail thumping the ground at odd times, creating a loud echo inside of the cave, each step she took took her closer to the male, and to why he was here.
Spotting the light, Shiela growled deeply, before launching herself before the male, roaring loudly as she flared her wings, her jaws widening as she used one eye to see what the human male would do...

Heavy thuds began to emit from the back of the cave now, with every impact becoming louder, bits of loose stone and earth raining down gently from the roof. Each boomed caused Elijah to take a fearful step backwards, and he quickly muttered 'Nox!' exstinguishing his wand. Of all the places I could have gone, it had to be a troll's cave... he thought forlornly, preparing himself to run.
However, he was less than pleasantly surprised to see two large, relfective eyes appear from the gloom. 'A dragon?' He said, his mouth hanging open and his eyes going wide. It did not give Elijah a moment's chance to turn and flee, charging at him full speed with its tail swinging, its jaws wide and its roar deafening.
Raising his wand, Elijah shot a massive burst of red sparks at the dragon's eyes, the immediate pain causing it to stop in its tracks and throw its head around dangerously, desperate to rid itself of the hot pain. There were not many dragon-repelling hexes about, but Elijah at least knew one. 'Stay! I'm not here to hurt you!' He shouted as he turned on his heel, attempting to flee...

Enraged, Shiela roared furiously in pain. Her eyes closed, pain seeping through them as she stamped the ground furiously. She roared once more, breathing fire in a random direction, trying to disperse the pain. Her eyes stung with pain but the scent of the human male was still strong enough for her to track and knowing that he would try to escape now, she roared and launched herself into the air, coming down barely inches behind the fleeing human.
She roared again, this time ceasing her movement as she felt the soothing presence of her partner coming closer, her true docile nature coming through.

A great blast of orange and white fire erupted behind Elijah as he fled, the whole cave flooding in brilliant light, the darkness being chased out into the rain. The flames passed over his head just barely, but the driving force of the attack was enough to launch him off his feet and send him flying through the air for a couple of feet before landing flat on his stomach and face.
Another jet of hot air scraped his back, and Elijah flung his arms over the back of his head to protect himself. 'Let me leave!' He sounded, his voice stricken with panic as he tried to scramble to his feet and grab his wand, only to realise it was no where in sight.
The Gryffindor turned round, only managing a small intake of breath as the creature appeared before him, slower than before, but it's eyes just as dangerous...

Leigh appeared the mouth of the cave, panic stricken on his face. He ran into the cave and stopped suddenly, seeing a student frantically searching for his wand, flames roaring overhead. Leigh ducked in time as the flames passed him, his heart rate quickening as he realised the student had entered a place where he should not have come.
Leigh leapt to his feet, reached forward and grabbed the student by his collar and dragged him away, forcing his mind into Shiela's to calm her, the mind full of panic and pain like his was. She blocked him slightly, forcing him to go to alternative matters.
'Shiela! Cease and desist!' He shouted loudly, forcing himself to stand tall over the student.

Shiela stopped, hearing the voice of her partner, she suddenly settled down, despite the pain she felt. She growled in annoyance as she smelt the human male remained where he was, but she lay down and folded her wings along her back.
Her eyes were swollen and sore and the little she could use them made her frightened, but soon she felt the soothing calmness wash over her as Leigh once again attempted the mind link, her clear thoughts now allowing him entrance into her mind, soothing her as she calmed down.
She still didn't like the mere fact that the human male remained in her cave, whilst she had to remain calm.

Leigh smiled as he felt his connection with Shiela go through this time, knowing she would now calm herself. Little by little he felt her pain and he now realised what happened, but if anyone was confronted by a dragon, they would've acted the same way.
'You woke a dragon, invaded her home and expected to leave her peacefully?' Leigh said, helping the student up. He suddenly recognised the student and laughed. 'And I thought you were meant to be quiet?'

Elijah stood up carefully, his full attention still on the dragon as it stopped still, grumbling in what seemed like a sorrowful way. Was it too injured to carry on attacking, or had Addis - the one he remembered from the forest several nights ago - managed to cast a much more effective spell on her? Elijah's throat hurt from where Leigh had dragged him by the collar, and he coughed harshly now as he turned to look at him, his brow pricked with sweat.
'I had no idea it was in here. There's never been any sign of a dragon living in the forest before - no one's ever mentioned it...' He wheezed. The dragon gave another low noise of disapproval, and Elijah impatiently brushed past Leigh, walking until he was stood outside the mouth of the cave. 'What did you do to it? How did you manage to defeat it?' Elijah remarked in hurried curiosity, wondering why the man had not yet chosen to move away from the heartless beast.
Elijah patted his torso and pockets in search of his wand, only to remember that it was still somewhere in the cave. His eyes scanned the floor for a moment, settling upon it by Leigh's feet. He suddenly felt very anxious without it now. Even though he was sure Leigh was not a threat, he did not really trust anyone that much.

Leigh crossed his arms and stared sternly at the student. 'Shiela, that's the dragons name, didn't mean any harm, she was merely curious as to how you managed to get in here, despite me hiding the entrance with a spell.' He said, looking oddly now at the boy, it looked like he was looking for something. Leigh noticed the desperate look on his face and laughed. He took out his wand and smiled. 'Accio Wand' He said, the spell working to its effect as a wand that was hidden beneath dug up debris came towards him.
Catching it, he threw it to the boy. 'There you go, keep a better eye on it.' Leigh said, looking at Shiela and noticing the pain that filled her eyes. He smiled warmly at her, letting her know that he'll be back soon. It was enough to let her stand and leave, before Leigh turned to the boy one more time.
'I didn't defeat her, I merely told her to cease what she was doing. You attacked her out of fear, a normal response from a human, but then you agitated her. She isn't a mindless beast like most would believe her to be.' He continued, tapping the side of his head with his finger. 'We share a mind link, our minds are connected and as such I feel what she feels and I feel what she feels, understand?'

Elijah caught his wand, quickly giving it a once over for signs of damage or tampering with, as he did not fully trust the man not to have done something to it before throwing it to him. Holding it tightly at his side, Elijah looked back at the man, his expression slightly cold.
'Harmless or not you'll still have to pardon my reaction - it isn't very usual that a dragon doesn't want to harm a human, and it's certainly rarer to find one who shares an empathy with a man of all things.' Elijah replied with his usual calmness although this time he could not keep the little bit of frustration he was feeling from showing through. Leigh was being irritatingly dismissive of how easily his supposed partner had lost control, and Elijah could hardly believe it to be intelligent - surly it had just been confunded into slowing down?
Elijah shivered as the rain soaked through to his skin again, and reluctantly he stepped back under the roof of the cave, his wand at the ready in case the beast should stir from its stupor. 'So,' he remarked, watching Leigh carefully. 'Aside from keeping an eye on anyone coming into the forest, what on earth are you doing with your time? You've not been particularly useful to anyone lately, you know.' Elijah knew Leigh had just stopped the dragon, but that was beside the point. He had probably placed the poor thing in the cave to begin with. The forest was not any dragon's natural enviroment after all.
There was, predictably, a thin but nevertheless existent file on Leigh Addis in the Rose Red League's archives. They had collected a smattering of his details and past activity, but as of yet none of them had got close enough to find out why he was still hiding. He was not still paranoid of the dead Morziak, surly?

'I know you're involved in a group that defies the Ministry.' Leigh said, looking at Shiela and smiling at her warmly. He turned and looked at Elijah and frowned. 'And I'm against the Ministry, as well.' He stepped out into the rain and felt the beating droplets fall on his face and he calmly looked at the student.
'The Ministry is far too powerful for me to oppose directly, so I remain here doing what little duty I feel I have left.' Leigh replied with, knowing that the student was undoubtedly digging for information, so why hide it? 'I have been thinking on revealing myself and confronting the Ministry, but with only the backing of Shiela, I don't stand much of a chance.'
This let off a slight snort from Shiela, obviously a remark from her about her power. Leigh looked at her with a look that he was right and that she should respect the fact that even dragons have limits.
'I suppose I haven't been particularly handy to anyone since my revival, not just lately, either, but for me to be handy I have to be able to do something greater and I've been marked for death if anyone sees me.' Leigh replied, crossing his arms as he felt the rain fall harder, a smile crossing his lips. 'Why are you so interested in knowing more about a dead man?'

'It's my job to know things,' Elijah answered back with a dismissive shrug of his eyebrows, although he immediately regretted it, realising it sounded very pretentious.
He took a breath and sighed gently, wishing to return himself to his usual soft demeanor. 'I'm not surprised you know about us. If the ministry does than anyone paying attention to them will certainly do as well.' Elijah considered mentioning that Leigh had met his superior, Nicholas McNiven, before hand in the forest some time ago. Of course, it was pointless to do so and probably folly.
'Well, you're definitely marked if how many people - including students - actually know you're here by now. You need to be more careful, Addis.' Elijah said quietly, his eyes full of respectful warning. 'I don't know what you think you're duty is, but you're not doing it properly.'
Turning around, Elijah walked a few feet out of the cave, his eyes scanning the grey and brown scenery for signs of Nicholas. Had Leigh seen him? Or worse, had Leigh done something to him?

'I am rather careless at times.' Leigh admitted through a deep breath. 'I'm not exactly sure what group your involved in, but rumours were circulating well before my death about several of these groups, yours could very well be one of dozens out there.'
Leigh knew only of a few that were truly against the Ministry, others he had heard supported the Ministry, one thing he could never do again. He looked at Elijah and noticed the odd way he was looking. He smiled and laughed.
'If you're looking for him, he's not here, at least he wasn't when I came here.' Leigh said, remembering the night where he had seen a man call Elijah out by name, not knowing that mans name, Leigh remembered the face and accent very well. 'If he's here, then let him appear now.'
