Walking across the grounds was no easy feat for Gemini that afternoon. She had been studying in the common room, when her head exploded in pain. The noise level in the common room wasn't going to help, so she decided to come down to the lake, where, while being noisy and cold, it would at least be a little less stifling.
Gemini selected a spot under a sad looking tree off in the driest area she could find. Just as she expected students were everywhere shrieking and hurling snow balls at each other. She couldn't help but smile to herself however, because the noise was swallowed up by the December sky, before it could drill into the back of her head.
Gemini shivered happily. The pain in her head was lessening. The light coat she had on over her clothes was hardly December appropriate, but Gemini had never minded the cold. She glanced up at the gray sky and smiled again.

How had Olivia gotten in this war. All she had been doing was walking across the yard books in hand. She was thinking about how she needed to get herself a bag for her schoolbooks. She usually was able to get by with just carrying them, but now with the fifth year lode of homework, she would have to concede into buying a book bag.
She picked up a handful of snow and sailed in over, hitting a 3rd year boy in the head. Liv giggled, which gave away her position. It seemed like thousands upon thousands of snowballs sail over the bush pelting her every which way. She stood up laughing, brushing the snow from her knit hat.
"I surrender! Treaty!" she said, picked up her books and started walking down the hill. She had gotten to her destination, only to realize:
"Blast! My bloody Charms book!" Liv ran back up the hill. Apparently the group thought she was coming for more and renewed their attack on her.
"No! I'm done! Really!" she cried, grabbed her book and jumped behind a tree. The attack stopped. Liv breathed hard.
"That was close." She then noticed that sitting the the side of her was a girl, back against the tree. Olivia smiled at her.
"Can you believe it, they almost took my head off."She laughed and remember the book in her hand.
"I had to go for a rescue mission," she acknowledged the book.
"You're a fifth year aren't you?" Liv asked the girl.

A state of trance had taken over Gemini as she sat under the tree. The shouts and giggles of the students all around her had simply faded into the background. It wasn't until the noise had gotten louder and came closer that Gemini opened her eyes.
A very thin girl, clutching a book in her hands, had just lept out of the paths of a dozen snowballs hurled in her direction by a group of students. Her face was flushed with a pink tinge and she chestnut colored hair was strewn all over her face. The girl immediately addressed Gemini light-heartedly.
Gemini smiled wearily up at the girl. "Yeah I'm a a 5th year." So was the girl. That, and the fact that she was a Hufflepuff, was all Gemini knew about the girl. "Gemini," Gemini paused. "Hart," she added hurriedly.

"Olivia Belmont" Olivia said with a smile. "Corporal first class; snowball brigade!" She knew from the random classes they had together that the girl, Gemini, was a Ravenclaw. Olivia didn't really distinguish who she hung out with by house, but she knew there were usually two kinds of Ravenclaws. Both were undoubtedly witty and smart, strewn with book sense, but one kind knew they were smart, knew that they could probably beat Liv at any test, the other however was humble about there knowledge and very easy to get along with.
"You've got a very pretty name. Gemini. hmm. This might sound like a stupid question, but are you a Gemini, Gemini?" Liv laughed. It would be horribly ironic if Gemini was a Gemini. Perhaps thats how she got her name? Or her mother just liked it. Liv was a Libra herself. Outgoing and kind. Liv seemed to remember that Gemini's happen to be very versatile. Talkative to. She wasn't sure about this Gemini though. They had just met!

Fully out of her trance now, and considerably cold, Gemini laughed. She always got remarks about her name. Gemini had never met another one. She liked that. Just one more thing to set her apart. More than anything Gemini yearned to be different. So far in her life she had done an alright job of it, but unfortunately it caused others to avoid her. But, hey this girl's approached me. That's a good thing.
Gemini shivered and quickly unbraided her hair in an attempt to warm herself up a little.
"Thanks," Gemini replied. "I've always liked it. Yea, I am a Gemini, though I hardly buy into the zodiac." Gemini paused deciding whether she should continue. Gemini knew of a lot of people who didn't like people who talked to much about themselves and she had learned to be careful. But Olivia seemed like someone who would be genuinely interested in others.
"My dad told me my mother use to take the zodiac very seriously," Gemini continued. "He protested an opted to give me a normal name, but in the end she won. His name became my middle name instead."
Gemini sneezed loudly, and then said, "You know I've always loved the name Olivia for a girl."

"Oh, you're welcome. Oh, don't get me wrong. I definitely don't live by it. It's always fun to check the back of the Daily Prophet and get you daily reading. Although I have a strange suspicion that they have a phony fortune teller. My reading today was 'Watch your footsteps, a large hole might be in your midst. And don't forget that pudding you put on the stove, no one likes a charred pudding'." Olivia laughed. "Honestly, I haven't seen any holes around here, and when, or where, am I going to cook a pudding?"
"I have to admit my name suits me. But, heres a secret, you're liable to hold this against me if I ever get on your nerves, my full name is ghastly. Who is their right mind would name their child Olivia Egwene Dolcenia Sienna Belmont. My parents are the most indecisive people on the planet earth."
