Ian yawned tiredly, laying on his back in the middle of the shore next to the lake. A bit of sand was covering his toes, his school shoes abandoned by a nearby tree, and he sighed.
It soon turned into a yelp as the cool water brushed over his legs, up to his knees and soaking his trousers. Sitting up instantly, he tried to move away from the cool spray, but found he was held in place by something long and slippery.
"Gillyweed?" Ian said, a bit hopefully.
The vision of the Giant Squid rising above the water's surface assured Ian that the slimy object wrapped around his foot was not gillyweed, but something else entirely.
With another panicked, disgruntled noise, he picked up his large Transfiguration text and threw it at the tentacle draped securely over his leg.
Immediately, the Squid recoiled back into the water, leaving the shore in peace. Ian frowned, having thought it would have been more difficult to defeat the thing.
"Looks like it enjoys Transfiguration essays as much as I do." He said curiously, picking up the soaked book with a grimace.

Kellcie had nothing better to do with her time right now than to wander the grounds. She still had some homework left but had decided to give it a rest, it was a tiresome job doing homework then studying till all hours of the night, but she supposed she'd have to if she wanted to get somewhere.
Kellcie stopped as she looked at the lake, something huge was coming out of it towards a boy. She couldnt see who it was, or even if she knew the guy, Kellcie saw a something wrap around the boys leg, and she stood there transfixed.
What shocked her the most was... He'd would rather throw a text book at it, then use his wand. How strange.
With a shrug Kellcie decided she'd go over and say hi. Having actually reached the guy she realised the phrase, Hi, i just saw you nearly get eaten, but didnt help, was kinda lame. So instead she went with something else, "Im guessing you dont like transfiguartion essays much"

Ian gazed at the lake perturbed at his experience for a few more minutes, before a voice startled him. Turning around instantly, a flush red colour crawling up his neck, Ian let out a nervous laugh.
"Oh this?" Ian pulled out his wand, holding the book an arms length away. "Easy fix... really..." He had acted on impulse, only just realising using his wand against the Squid would have been a better decision on his part.
Waving it a couple of times, mumbling a hot air charm, he glanced at the girl with a foolish grin. The book dried instantly, suffering only a loose cover, and he held it up to her with a pleased smile.
"Wands might not be good for defeating squids, but I'm sure they help loads with the laundry." He said jokingly, grabbing a hold of one of his shoes.

Kellcie folded her arms to try and stop herself from laughing. She watched as he pulled out his wand, "Im sure it is" She gave a small laugh. She had never seen someone fend off a giant squid with a text book... She had never seen a giant squid before though so that may be why.
Kellcie took the book in her hands and examined it, true enough it was dry as anything. "Thats impressive" she said, still looking at the book. Eventually she placed it down next to him with a smile.
"How would you know wands arent good for defeating them? You didnt try" she laughed again and looked out onto the lake. "Just remind me to carry a big hefty book with me next time im here, i may need it"

Ian grinned sheepishly, before finishing tying up his shoelace and grabbing his book energetically. "Would be a good idea," he said in a mockingly-proper voice. "The lake is absolutely filled with all sorts of dangerous creatures."
Then, peering into the waters, he smirked as he stuck his wand into the murkiness. Pulling out a small crab-like thing, though it had nine legs, he pointed it at Kellcie. "I'm Ian by the way." The crab skittered up his wand, before toppling to the floor.
"Not too fond of my name, is he?" The Gryffindor said, a bit offended, as the crab began to scurry a haven in the sand.
What neither of them noticed was the crab had stealthily entered the book-bag sitting near the Ravenclaw's foot.

Kellcie saw him grab the book a bit energetically. She half smiled when he did this, not really knowing what to do or where to place herself. She stood around the lake, and around the boy. "Yeah i guess it would be"
Kellcie jumped back a couple of steps as he took out something from the lake. Looking at it closer she realised it was a crab, with nine legs. She had never seen a crab with nine legs before and wasnt sure if she wanted to make it something that happened again.
"Im Kellcie" she told him, deciding to sit down on the floor rather than stay stood up. Kellcie quickly moved her legs, not really wanting the thing to touch her as it burrowed in the sand. "I guess not, no" She laughed a little bit. Moving part of her hair from her face.

"Well, then, Kellcie," Ian said, struggling with the bag near Kellcie's foot, snapping it shut. "How about we..." He trailed off as something sharp trickled across his foot.
At least five or six crabs similar to the one they had found previously skittered across Ian's feet, causing him to wince.
"What in Merlin's name?" His startled voice was met with silence as they watched the the crabs make a home in among Ian's school things, growing immensely cozy with one of his ties. Watching them curiously, Ian peered inside the bag and suddenly fell back as they all scurried out from the fabric, trailing across the sand.
Of course, they were carrying the notebook with Ian's transfiguration essay inside, and the Gryffindor yelled at once, picking up a rock.
"Hey! Get back here!" They seemed to snicker as they disappeared beneath the water.
Immediately, Ian shucked off his shoes and robes once more, slipping on the muddy sand but waving his hands manically. "You get back here, that essay is mine!"
Then, he turned around for a split second, an apologetic look on his face as he looked at Kellcie. "Erm... Up for a swim? The water's really nice," Though, he was unable to hide the grimace as he dipped a toe in the ice-cold liquid. Then with one last nod toward the lake, Ian jumped inside, swallowed by waves of water.

Kellcie looked at Ian as he spoke to her, he didnt get to finish his sentance for some reason that Kellcie wasnt sure she wanted to find out. "What?" she asked.
Kellcie looked down at the ground as she felt something go over her hand, giving off a little scream she jumped up. There was loads of little crabs, all over the place. Kellcie hated sea food. And these things were plain discusting.
Though, when one of them began to run off with his notebook and essay, she couldnt hold the giggle that was threatening her throat as it came out. What made it all the more funnier was that Ian slipped on the muddy sand and began to wave his hands in a crazed sort of way. He seemed like an amusing guy to her.
"Uhm... Ian... I dont think they care who the essay belongs to, its not like they have an underwater school where they are desperatly in need of a transfiguration essay"
Kellcie looked at him sceptically when he told her the waters nice. Though he jumped in so she thought she may as well join him. Shrugging off her robe, shoes, tie and socks, she got into the water. With a gasp she yelled, "Its FREEZING!"

Ian sent her an apologetic, though thoroughly amused grin. "Kind of, isn't it..." He said, in reference to the water's temperature. "Well, all the more reason to find that essay quickly!"
Pulling off his tie, though leaving his school shirt on (not particularly fond of the prickly plants touching his bare skin) he took out his wand and cast a bubblehead charm on Kellcie.
"Think I've got this right-- Hubbles is quite the charms professor." Then, casting one on himself, effectively cutting off his rambling, he dunked his head under the water.
Blinking, he kicked his legs, very narrowly avoiding the large jaws of what looked like a gigantic snail.
"Charming creatures down here, really." He said dryly, before spotting one of the crabs burrowing deep into a bed of seaweed. Turning around, he gestured to the dark, murky tangle of weeds with his thumb, before swimming straight into it.

"Kind of?" She questioned. Shivering in the ice cold water, she should have known better than to jump in the lake at this time of year, but she did it anyway. Idiot. "How do i get roped into these things?" she mumbled to herself.
Kellcie felt the charm work on her and felt like an even bigger idiot now as she looked like she had a giant goldfish bowl on her head. Though at least it stop her drowing. Even if it didnt help with the cold.
"I'll take your word on that, but if i die! Remind me to haunt you" She spoke as she follwed him underneath the surface and into the murky depths below.
Kellcie was a good swimmer, but she stayed behind Ian, not really wanting to be close to any creature, which seemed to be going after him.
"I guess this means were going then?" she stated as she followed him down further, chasing crabs was not what she had in mind for a peaceful afternoon.

The seaweed tangled between Ian's toes, and he grimaced as he swam further in. A small rustle behind him signaled Kellcie was following and he hoped she wasn't afraid of the dark as almost instantly, pitch black enveloped them, making it impossible to see.
Reaching for his wand again, he felt around for something to hold on to. Catching a piece of seaweed to keep his balance, he cast a simple Lumos and smiled reassuring at Kellcie. "Sorry about all this," he said quite seriously, though the seriousness of it was dampened by the foolish bubble surrounding his head.
"I didn't realise they'd go so far in-- Eugh!"
Of course, Ian hadn't managed to grab hold of seaweed, but instead was clenching the tentacle of an octopus with moss-green spots in quite the death grip.
"Er... Sorry..."
Though, as soon as Ian let go, it's eyes narrowed and it let out a dozen, furious bubbles along with a vicious gurgling noise. Then, one of it's tentacles wrapped stealthily around Ian's wand, pulling it from his shocked fingers.
With wide eyes, he watched helplessly as two slender tentacles began to wrap around Kellcie's mid section.

Kellcie tried to stay away from the seaweed, but it had a tendancy to grab you anyway as though it was alive. How discusting she thought to herself, still wondering how in all the world she managed to find herself at the bottom of the lake, looking for a transfiguration essay that was probably soaking wet through and very much inellgable.
Oh great, now i cant see... This is turning out to be one strange.. argh! Light she thought sheilding her eyes at the light, which was now not used to it since they had been accustomed to dim lighting and then just pitch black. She stopped swimming and folded her arms looking at him with a raised eyebrow through what she had come to call it, her fish bowl. "Forget about it" She said with a shrug, swimming up to him so she was next to him.
"Argh" Kellcie screamed as she swum back a couple of metres, trust him to grab hold of an octopus. This could be bad she pulled out her wand, trying to think of a good spell to cast upon the octopus. Kellcie saw its bubbles, which she assumed were for something, but she didnt have time to think as she felt something slip around her mid area, causing her arms to be pinned to her side so she could do nothing anyway.
They became tighter, and Kellcie was having trouble breathing now, the more she struggled the more tighter it got. Im going to die! she thought to herself. A wave of dizzyness came over her as she looked at Ian. Then at the octopus, was the thing grinning. Oh, dont start octy, as soon as im outta here, my fist is going to be rammed so hard into your fishy head you'll be seeing stars! she thought angrily to herself, though i kinda.. ouch hey that hurts you know!
