Just a little ways away from the lake, hiding behind a large pumpkin in the fourth Greenhouse, Adair wrote something down in a notebook sprawled across his lap.
A Muggle Journal was flickering beside him in the wind, dated back at least six years ago. On the front page there was a blown-up portrait of Allion Vickers, only twenty-nine then with, a slanted smile on his face, and eyes glassy as ever. The picture didn't move of course, being of Muggle descent, and Adair had been mildly annoyed with that fact.
Under the heading of his name, there was a long article praising him for the large donation he had given to a non-government organization, contributing to the relief of a Hurricane an old wizard had accidentally set on the coast of South America. Of course, the silly Muggles had blamed the incident on fabricated things like Global Warming and such, which only made the young Slytherin roll his eyes.
Not much could be found of the Divination Professor from what he had access to, and he stared at the newspaper dully, before writing down Philanthropist and dropping his quill with a sigh. He had been determined to give his Gryffindor "companion" a long list of history this time, but found it was just as short as Morley's.

Lidia was taking a stroll outside and she headed down to walk around the lake. As she walked she heard something, she looked around to see if she could see anyone. Lidia walked to the sound of paper, she guessed. Walking up to the sound she felt a little scared. "Hello, is someone there?" she asked waiting for a reply.

Quite enjoying his privacy, Adair scowled and momently thought of conjuring birds to distract the girl into thinking that's all the noises were, before he let out a resigned sigh and packed away his things, charming them with his usual privacy spells.
He watched the ink run off the page of the newspaper indifferently, having seen it at least a hundred times, just as he mumbled a brief, "Yes. By the pumpkins."
He was feeling a bit bored after all, and he figured he could start his work right away.

Lidia walked over toward him wondering if he was going to be upset that she had bothered him. "I didn't mean to disturb you. It was just that I heard something and, well, honestly it kind of scared me." she said, with her head down. This was the first time had met this boy. "I'm Lidia, sorry if I bothered you." she said, finally finding it in her to try to look him in the eye. It was very unusual for her to be this shy, it bothered her slightly.

Adair sent her a weary look, leaning heavily against the pumpkin behind him and dropping his books. "Can't help that you've bothered me. Not now, anyway." He said airily, placing his legs in front of him neatly and making room for her to sit.
She was a fellow Slytherin after all, by looks of her robes, though he didn't particularly have any school pride even if she weren't.
"Adair Telbor," He said with a shrug. "I've just transferred, if you're wondering why we haven't met."
They were both well into their schooling, after all.

Lidia didn't like the way he looked at her, but he probably didn't care. She noticed Adair had made a place for her to sit. Lidia gently walked over and sat down next to him. She was still a little inquisitive about this boy, he seemed like the mysterious type. It got her to think about why he had been sitting alone. "It's nice to meet you Adair." Lidia said as she gave him a gentle nod. "Ah, so that is why I have not seen you before." she said with a smile. For some very unknown reason she was already feeling very comfortable around him, even if they had just met. Lidia wasn't one to care to much of what people thought of her. If he liked her that was great, if he didn't she wouldn't really care.

"Yes, that would be why." Adair looked over at her as she sat down, looking quite comfortable. There was a minute of silence as Adair was obviously not the social-type, and he picked at the grass carelessly.
Sensing her wonder, he finally tossed her his History of Magic textbook, though he had yet to go to a class. "Just working on catching up." He said, answering her silent question with an easy lie. As if to further sate her curiosity, he gave her a slight smirk and flipped open his notebook to a page of neat, cursive, notes.

Lidia wasn't sure what to say to him, so she just sat there. When he finally tossed her his text book and told her he was 'catching up' she wasn't sure if she should believe him or not, but she did. "When did you transfer?" Lidia asked trying to strike a conversation. She was not a very social person, just as he wasn't either. Lidia did not know if he wanted her to leave or not as she waited for his reply.

"Just at the beginning of term," Adair replied casually, putting away his notes and regarding the girl carefully. "From quite the prestigious school-- not even Hogwarts can compare..." Though, that was untrue. Adair was finding the castle to be finer than his first impressions had led him to believe.
Glancing back at quill, Adair suddenly scowled. Of course, Layla was probably at some Gryffindor banquet dedicated to her, leaving him all the work.
Rolling his eyes, he let his head fall back against the pumpkin. "Definitely time for a break though." He dug the heel of his finely polished shoe into the ground, in a slightly irritated way.

"Yes, and I'm going to believe that. There isn't a school better than Hogwarts." Lidia replied, laughing at him. She wasn't really sure if she should even be talking to this boy. Adair didn't seem like the friendly type.
"How bad do you want a break? Because I was just on my way to go swimming in the lake if you want to join me." She replied, standing and offering him her hand.
Lidia hadn't been to the lake in quite some time. For reason that she would never tell anyone. She had also been falling behind in her school work, but she would catch up. That was the only thing she had no doubt in.

Adair's expression became slightly repulsed as she spoke of Hogwarts so fondly. It was still only a school, made of stone and brick just like anything else of its sort. He thought of his own manor, by far more welcoming to him than this place.
"I don't swim," he said, his face emotionless as his polished shoe dug a bit more insistently in the dirt. Though, feeling her gaze on him, he rolled his eyes and stood up.
"Only if it's quick." He muttered, slipping off his shoes carefully and setting them against one of the pumpkins.

"I would appreciate it if you wouldn't give me that look." She said, taking out her wand and waving it over herself. As Lidia did this her clothes appeared next to her folded while she was in her swimsuit.
"Why do you act the way you do? I don't understand you." She said, looking over at him. Adair interested her very much. He made her want, who knows.
"Shall we?" Lidia asked, gesturing towards the lake.
