Lesson I This was the lesson that Rhiannon always liked to teach, because it was the lesson that everyone liked to learn. It was always this one that stuck out for people as their favourite - even the people who normally couldn't stand the lesson eemed to enjoy it (though perhaps not willingly admit it). [Mod: Man, I must have been planning something good. Shame I cannot for the life of me remember what it was =P]
After just about surviving a Deitrich inspection last term, Rhiannon had taken a step back from the ministry, keeping herself to herself and going about things as normal and quietly as possible. She knew that Deitrich had a particular dislike for her and it seemed that she had taken to getting one of her ministry lap dogs to keep a close eye on her. Something that Rhia could really do without.
The past few days however, Rhia had began to return to her normal self, as the events of last term began to be pushed further away from her front thoughts. Rhiannon was back, and she didn't like being pushed around by her former employer.. and they would know it soon enough.
The ComC teacher sat on her usual tree stump with Skull the Crup and waited for the class to arrive in the small clearing.

Ian dropped his bag onto the ground, slightly short of breath from having run all the way from the castle. Looking around quickly, though not really paying attention, he slid down a trunk just off to the side and sat at its floor.
Acknowledging the professor with a small smile, he leaned against the trunk with a pleased sigh and stretched out his legs, waiting for the lesson to begin.

Post by Marishka Mayfair on Mar 18, 2007 14:43:47 GMT
Marishka removed another crisp brown leave from hair, crushing it in her fingers before letting the remains be whisked away on the wind. Autumn was underway and luckily there had as of yet been no frost, so all the brightly coloured leaves had been allowed to stay on the trees. It was a good day for a lesson outside, and as Marishka walked under the trees toward the Care of Magical creatures lesson, she was for once not in the mood to tear anybodys' heads off.
As she arrived she saw that Professor Jones was sat with her popular little crup. Marishka didn't care for dogs of any sort, but still gave a low whistle, causing it to perk up its ears in interest.
'So, what's happening today?' she chimed with interest, choosing to stand a few feet away from a quiet looking Gryffindor. She eyed him suspiciously for a moment before turning her attention back to the autumn scenery...

Girty placed her bag on her shoulder and slowly walked out of the common room. At the same lazy pace, Girty walked across the lawns watching the fallen leaves drift across the grass in the breeze. As she got closer to where the lesson would be taking place she could hear voices, however there did not seem to be many. This was confirmed when she entered the clearing to see only two students and the Professor. With a small weak smile at the Professor, Girty stood in between the Slytherin and the Gryffindor.
Folding her arms to try and stay warm, Girty began to dig her feet into the soft ground waiting for the lesson to start.

Lauretta walked into CoMC class and walked over to Professor Jones. It was true that she was done with school, but she was Rhiannon's apprentice. "Morning" she said to Rhiannon.

Olivia strolled down the lawn to Care of Magical Creatures. It was a class that, after five years at Hogwarts, she still didn't not have an overwhelming likeness or dis likeness for. There had been some outstanding classes, and then those lessons that were totally lost in fits of boredom. It was Liv's hope that today be a good lesson, for she didn't really think she could force herself into attention for a very long time.
The Hufflepuff, dressed in her normal robes saw the group of students waiting for the lesson to begin. There on a stump was Professor Jones and her adorable Crup. Liv wanted the little dog like creature so much. However her parents, reminding her that she could not take it with her to Hogwarts, also reminding her that they would not be caught taking care of it while she was away, rejected her offers.
Liv arrived into the clearing and said hello to those she knew. She noticed a boy sitting on the cold, wet, damp floor of the clearing. Liv opted to stand, but grinned at him.

Post by Gemini Hart on Apr 22, 2007 22:02:05 GMT
Stifling a yawn, Gemini Hart walked heavy footed down toward her Care of Magical Creatures class. Her bag, being crammed full of books, was causing Gemini to slouch at an awkward angle under it's weight. Truth be told, she felt uneasy without the weight on her shoulder, so necessary or not, practically every text book she owned went in her bag every morning.
A few students were milling around a stump where Gemini saw the professor seated. She liked care of magical creatures, and was anxious to begin the lesson. Gemini let her bag drop down with a loud clunk, to the soft earth, and adjusting her pleated skirt she sat.

Alexis walked to class making sure to take in every view before she got there. For some reason the castle always seemed to take her breath away no matter when or where she was. There were days where she felt like classes got in the way of her enjoyment and today was one of those days but she knew that not going to class was pretty much unacceptable so she walked on finally reaching class.
She noticed the other students and nodded to some of them since she really didn't know them too well. Placing her backpack on the ground she sat around looking to the teacher wondering what they would be doing today hoping that it would be interesting.

Walking into class Blake sat down and raised his hand, asking " Are we going to have a homework assignment for this lesson?" Wanting to know if he ccould get ahead in class.

Arthur was running down the corridor, nervous he would be late for class. Though he dreaded messing around with tese strange creatures, come to think of it, he had always had an unnatural fear for any kind of creature, except house pets. And very few others. Arthur finally got to the classroom, and peaked his head in, checking to see that he wasn't late, finally, completing his examaning of the classroom and satisfied he wasn't late, Arthur slipped into the classroom and walked towards the front of the class and took a seat in the front. He placed his book on his desk along with parchment, ink, and a quill.

Charlotte was thrilled and excited. She hurriedly rushed through the hallways her, thick leathered-hiking boots thudding along the corridor. She hated wearing dress shoes, and instead she chose to wear her hiking shoes, that way if there was some sort of excursion or tree-climbing adventure on its way, she'd be ready. She stifled a giggle of excitement as she skipped through the door, and trampled over the grass. She stopped for a moment as she caught sight of a very large, green and black spotted caterpillar. She kneeled down plucking it from the blade of grass it stood on and grinned wider.
"Hello Mr.Deaths Head!" she grinned, letting the long Caterpillar crawl over her fingers, it's slinking body undulating like... well, like a caterpillar. Wrapping her hands softly around the, insect she continue her trailing to the CoMC class. As she arrived she immediately plopped her rump on the ground, folded her legs, and peeked into her hands. Grinning like a mad baboon. She'd keep the caterpillar in her room, under her bed, in a large pumpkin juice jar and feed it all its favorite leaves and grasses and, then maybe show off the little skull on its head, when it grew into a moth. She was so thrilled about the Caterpillar she forgot all previous excitement about her class.

Derek had been waiting for this class all day. He absolutely loved Care of Magical Creatures. Ten minutes later, Derek and the other CoMC students were outside the forest waiting for the Professor to start the class.

[Its terrible! I haven't done any lessons. I am so ashamed. I remember having a really cool idea and plan for this lesson.. hence making a big fuss in the opening post.. but now I have absolutely no idea what I was going to do. (So now the lesson can be called something more appropriate and I'll just make the lesson about something else.) Pfft, I really do suck =P]
Attendance Update: G 10 -- H 20 -- R 50 -- S 0 Rhiannon continued to stroke Skull the Crup, as students began to slowly filter towards the edge of the forest where she was holding the start of the lesson as usual. It looked as if she had a right mix that day. The scale of enthusiasm ranging from those who looked as if they would rather eat a broomstick than be there, to those who looked like they might explode from excitement.. a Hufflepuff girl in particular (now acting just the same about a caterpillar) being the latter. It was only when a Ravenclaw asked her a question though, when she finally spoke.
'Are you asking for homework?' She gaped at Blake, with wide eyes. 'I know it wasn't exactly yesteday when I was going here, but don't tell me homework is cool now?' She wrinkled her nose in disgust at the thought. 'But anyway, on with the lesson.. if you would all like to follow me please.'
Rhiannon turned round and began walking into the forest itself with Skull trotting behind her back foot obediently. She was certain Deitrich would disapprove of a lesson in the forest, which was probably half the reason she was doing it.. but the other half was the simple fact that to see all the best creatures, going into the forest was the only thing to do.

Post by Prof Grace Marks on Jul 11, 2007 22:45:17 GMT
Grace ran towards the crowd that was her class. She was late, as usual. Yet another incident in the corridors between lessons and she had to tidy up. I should rather be called the maid with all the cleaning up after people I do around here, Grace thought angrily as she ran closer and closer. She crashed into a hug with Girty. "Girty!" she shrieked and stood back. "Liv!" she said almost as excitedly. "Ian! What a pleasant lesson this is going to be."
She looked to the professor and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry I'm late professor," she said, "two Slytherins had jinxed a door to not let anyone in and Professor Fagin was furious. A bathroom is a terrible place for that kind of prank. But I'm here now. Sorry again," she added. Then she noticed the professor was heading into the forest. "O!" she said, half surprised with the amount of grip the ministry had on the school's neck and half out of excitement. "What are we going to be doing in the forest today, Professor?"
